I completely disagree John. Blue Beetle, Shazam, Aquaman, and Flash didn't flop because they were DC movies. The Marvels and ant man 3 also flopped that year, people were just sick of mediocre superhero movies and the strikes sure didn't help anything. This is freaking SUPERMAN and it looks great. The general audience doesn't know or care about the DCEU, or James Gunn. General audience barely knows what characters are DC and which are Marvel. It's a Superman movie, it can make a billion

IMO, you can do a movie with any 00 agent you want, but a new James Bond specifically needs to have certain qualities. - British - Male - Straight - Suave/classy - Vain - Overly Confident - Easily Distracted by beautiful women - Bends the rules - “Drippy” (Suit, watch, fancy car) - Loves his martinis shaken, not stirred - Inexplicably tells everyone his full name for some reason. - Struggles to back down from a challenge or wager - loves to gamble in the casinos and in life. - Loves his high tech gadgets I mean, it’s a lot, but that is what I expect from my James Bond. I don’t feel in a modern era setting that his race matters too much. In the Cold War era, it would not make any sense to send a black spy to fake being Russian, but the right plot could work with any race James Bond as long as the character is still quintessentially James Bond.

My theory as to why the civilian throws the can at superman . i believe part of the theme of this movie will be that superman cant save everyone everywhere .The still shot where superman is putting on his boots and the city is being attacked , is part of this .Superman at some stage talks to lois about wanting to save everyone and everything he can around the world{ big blue boyscout} , but she talks him into thinking , well there is the justice league as well , he isnt the only super hero on the planet , he deserves to have a private life as well , which he eventually agrees lois is correct .He cant save everyone . When the orb thing attacks metropolis , he sits this one out and leaves it to the justice league , who struggle to stop it , eventually after the city getting badly smashed superman tells lois i have to intervene ..She agrees and he gets out and stops the orb in its tracks quickly .Next morning as the league are meeting at the hall of justice to talk about what happened a crowd is outside , angry that it took so long for superman to get involved this is also why an angry looking guy gardner , looks like hes about to call out superman for his tardiness the previous night.

I'm pretty sure James Guns superman movie is gonna be good. It does look to have some epic moments. And Gun is a great storyteller. I am just not a fan of his style. So ill watch it and hopefully enjoy it. But still wish they'd gone a different direction. Looking at the slate of upcoming DC stuff- I'm not excited for much except Brave & Bold.

Because the movie Snyder fucked up just so happened to be most crucial movie in that universe, Snyder was also the main creative head in the DCEU from 2013 to 2016, the dark edgy miserable tone the DCEU became "famous" for was his fault, it took until Aquaman 1 to get some actual color and levity in Snyder's grimdark universe

@@SilkSonic-c9z Snyder had creative control over MoS and BvS, heck he was even allowed to change the scriptnof MoS and take decisions that would clash with developing projects like killing off D1ck Grayson (that's why that Nightwing script was sent to production hell), Snyder was allowed to set the tone of the DCEU and he wrote the storyline from BvS to JL3, so every weird and dumb story decision like killing Superman so early or the fugly not-the-real-Doomsday were all his own ideas, Warner didn't writhe the movies, they just told Zack they wanted to set up the JL, it was Zack's awful writing that just executed those things wrong, I mean the "save Martha" scene was embarrasingly stupid back then and still is today, Snyder dropped the ball in the EXECUTION, which is the most important part of a movie, he lost the general audiences in the second movie, that's why they wanted to get rid of him since 2016 I think you are mixing up BvS with what happened to SS16, now that one was actually WB's fault, like even if I honestly believe Ayer's original cut was still gonna be bad, I also believe it was better than the monstrosity the studio did for the theatrical cut

My Favorite is the 3rd one, too, & Shadow was the MVP, imo. I think Keanu did very good for the most part (Some lines he said could've sounded better.), but I'm sure he can keep improving the longer he stays with the character, if he stays with the character for long, that is. But I'm a Biased Shadow Fan, so just my opinion.🖤😅❤ I do agree they maybe could've done more to Highlight what a tragedy Shadow's Upbringing was with his loss & trauma. Super ironic, we're talking about how well-done the original animated Lion King pulled that kind of subject matter off with a *G-RATING*, but I wonder with these "Sonic Movies," Paramount is still assuming how "immature"/"emotionally fragile" it's target audience is? Maybe that'll change in future Movie Installments now that a character like Shadow has finally shown up?

I really wish they had someone else running DC movies. I'm really not into James gunns sensiblities. I got excited when they said that they are starting out with God's and monsters. And creature crapmandos sounded really interesting to me. Especially, since I grew up watching the old Frankenstein, wolf man and Dracula tv shows. So much so that listening to white zombie would remind me of my child hood. So I thought it was going to be awesome.......until I watched it. Then I was completely bummed out. Though the superman trailer looks better than the creature commandos. With them using characters like krypto makes me not really not have any faith in what is to come from James Gunn. I really hope I'm wrong and it's great.

By John's logic, Steven Rogers was a "blatantly idiotic" choice for the Super Soldier Serum because he wasn't a warrior and combatant, and there were many many others who were already in the military, who were far superior to him physically. I thought Steve had knowledge and experience from the military. He just didn’t have the height or strength. He was more companionate and selfless compared to his other soldiers, which is what they were looking for. The serum seemed to fix everything else.

I do see what you're saying about Steve being chosen. However, if I remember right, Steve volunteered because he wanted so badly to help his country. He had all the heart and wouldn't back down or give up. The super soldier serum was a very risky take and it was the only way the army was willing to let Steve help. If they knew the serum worked, then they would absolutely have NOT given it to Steve. In Shuri's case, she was always the scientist and royalty. Steve was nobody and an experiment. Shuri was an important character. I don't like Shuri as BP but I understand the choice to an extent. Still agree with John though, should have been Nakia.
