I know this an old post, but I wanted to pass along a little known fact. In September and October, Pompano move inshore to mate. Typically, they will be in the channel that leads up onto the flat nearest the jetty. Last year, we caught a lot on small silver spoons in the bay at South Padre.

@@FishiganMilligan live shrimp circle hook and 30 lb clear mono leader I made. With 3 or 4 split shots the medium size ones... just to get it to go down. And worked great
