Same here for 10 months. I have been diagnosed with this. I need to get back to going my neck exercises and walking for at least 10 minutes a day. That’s the only thing anyone had told me to do. I get slight nausea and dizziness….not vertigo type.

You put a name to an issue I’ve had for 5 months. I’m nearly in tears. I have a specialist appt with a Dizzy/Balance team on Friday. They’re going to help me get through this. I suffered a whiplash accident - that spurred all of this. Thank you so much!!

I must say.....Thank You very much for highlighting this and bringing this condition to the forefront. I have Cervical Spine issues aplenty. C3-C7 are arthritic, the facet joints have OA, various disc bulges, DDD throughout my entire spine, I have a Military Neck [loss of the curve - lordosis], even T1 & T2 have spondylioethesis. Similar spinal conditions in other areas L2, L3, disc bulges imnto the front & rear, L5-S1 Spondylioethesis , OA in my Knees and hips. I've come to learn How Crucial Cervical Instabilities are! Occiptal Headaches thru to the top of my head, Temporal pains, ewye and ear pain, TMJ, Chronic Sinusitis, Tinnitus , Lightheadedness (like getting off a boat), evne IBS , and Bladder /Bowel Incontinence. People don't realize that Cervical Instabilities can wreak Havoc. It can affect the Vagus Nerve (s) [there is one on each side of your neck], the 10th Cranial Nerve from the Brain connecting all vital organms and controlling your parasympathetic Autonomous Nervosus system. I'm 71, a retired male, who has suffered with Spinal Spondyliosis for decades. Forward head Posture has done plenty of damage. I've been doing years of research about all of this. Doctors, including 6 Spinal /Neuro Surgeons visited tell you little. You are responsible for your Health. This is good video. Chck out Caring Medical - Dr. Ross Hauser for more info on Cervical Instabilities. !!

you really know and maybe know better than most specialists on the subject. It is possible that head forward posture is the result of a compromised airway. Especially with people having TMD. TMD and the symptoms you describe, even IBS are deeply connected and many studies suggest that TMD itself gives IBS. After all we're talking about the same system: the digestive system which is also the defense system as a huge nevous system. Most doctors lack of global vision. Narrow airway gives a reflex: it pushes the head forward to maximize the air through the airway. It's not a behavior, it's the nervous system response as below a certain volume, the brain considers opening the airway as vital, by any means. The head pushed forward makes the mandible go backward. In order to compensate, the muscles push the mandible. It gives aft and forward movements, clenching and grinding that put a huge pressure and tension on the TMJ, muscles and teeth. That leads to TMD. The whole posture is affected as the bad head posture adds more wear on the cervical and neck muscles, etc... That's also why many people with sleep apnea have also TMD: narrow airway, retruded mandible, etc.. Spondyliosis is now known to be higly associated with TMD and maybe a major cause of TMD. I don't know how you were able to go through that. Only people living with such conditions can understand. I thank for your testimony here. Very friendly.

I don’t have a doctor appointment until September 7th. But this is the first thing that sounds relevant to what’s happening to me. The ER told me vertigo, but it’s not on just one side. It’s kinda everywhere, but steaming from the back of the neck. I went to the chiropractor on August 1st, and this all started august 2nd. It’s very very depressing. I just wanna feel okay 😢. But it’s getting better as the days go by. Today is day 21. The first week I thought I was dieing with a brain tumor. Mine hits me when I’m moving. Walking. Driving, etc.

Also, I wanted to thank you for reaching out with this video. I have, what I now believe to Cervicogenic dizziness, which is a nasty condition. I think I now have some hope in overcoming it, thank you.

I've been watching all of your cervicogenic dizziness videos in last few days. And, per your testes, tested positive for cervicogenic dizziness. Mine has been chronic, daily, for 10 years come January. Traditional PT hasn't help. No focus on cervical neck instability. I notice you do not teach isometric, end of range, neck exercises where you use hand on head and press into it. Why is that? Your exercises are so gentle, like I'm don't nothing. Thanks!
@physiotipswithmarrow58369 күн бұрын
Great question. University of Queensland put out exercises a few years back where they focused on the deepest muscles of the neck and used low load exercises. This proved to decrease neck pain, headaches, etc. and the relief was long term. The isometric exercises of the past focused more on the bigger muscles of the neck and where not specific enough.
@vwatson629 күн бұрын
@physiotipswithmarrow5836 thanks for your reply. The isometric exercises made me worse the following day. Then again, I'm an A student. 🤦 I tend to do more than I should and probably with too much resistance; trying to feel the muscles work. I'm going to trust your process working the deeper muscles. I'm trying to find a PT here that knows of Gwen Jull's style of treatment. So far nothing. Most don't really even get cervicogenic dizziness. I was in PT for 3 years when this started. They never even stood the isometric with me. Lots of vestibular then thoracic and core exercises. No real postural either. I know more now and won't settle for conventional. Thanks for all of your videos. I also watched Gwen's and Bridget's videos. Finally feel like there is some hope our of my misery. Bridget talked about increase in symptoms in her cases for those with bifocals. Omg, yes! I got my first bifocals at the same time dizziness took over my life. I keep asking about correlation with docs. 🤦🤦🤦

Thank you so much for the video! I definitely feel pain in all the tests you've shown. But whats weird is I've experienced some sort of anxiety where its very constant and debilitating to go about my day which started from neck pain. Do you know if this is a side effect of cervicogenic dizziness? Dizziness and pain is one thing that I can handle because its physical but the anxiety is just unbearable. I don't feel like myself at times.

Your symptoms are not that unusual for possible cervicogenic dizziness disorder. It might be worthwhile to seek out a physical therapist that specializes in neck disorders. I would enquire about their knowledge on Gwen Jull style exercises. Best of luck!

Marrow, my headache has come and gone for three years, always starts at the base of my skull on left side, about half way between spine and ear, then radiates up to top of my head and to my temple and around my ear (rams horn) This starts about an hour after I wake up and often goes away after 4-5 hours, when I sleep it is fine, when I wake up it is fine My trapezius muscle is always tight, and I have cervical kyphosis but that has improved with stretches and exercises. No one knows how to fix this, its not getting better, any thoughts on how to fix this

hi ,thanks for the video , i did a magnetic ,and the diagnosis was myelopath and disk stenosis plus some osteopythes ,and i fell dizzinnes some times in day specially after my neck is tired (or getting up from bed ) and more often after the noon.My doctor said that the dizziness is not caused by your stenosis ,and my otolaryngologist after did the epley test for ears said that my problem is from the neck muscles and even if I make a surgery on disc I will have the same problem.What is your opinion on this?

Get with a good Physio that specializes in manual therapy and is familiar with Gwen Jull exercises from Australia. Most physios will know she is...surgery is questionable at best.

In June I fell a couple of time and one of the times I got hurt. I was X-Ray and was told I have cervical spondylotis. I did some PT but it just didn't seem to help. A nurse had me do the neck movements then told me to stand and walk a straight line. I couldn't walk I was stunning and almost fell. I use a cane to help me not fall. Any.DEA of what I should try next to help me?
