Claiborne Farm's 4-year-old filly Pigalle surged out of the five-horse pack to the wire for a neck victory in Ellis Park's $175,000 Groupie Doll Stakes on Sunday under Luan Machado. Among the many good things for the winners, Pigalle won her first stakes in her stakes debut. Paying $48.86, she was the longest shot in the field. Trainer Tommy Drury greatly appreciates any time he can get a Claiborne horse into the winner's circle. And making it even more special for Drury, whose favored Who Dey finished third as the favorite in the Ellis Park Derby earlier on the card, his mom Patty was on hand - and presented her son the trophy. We speak with Machado, Drury and Mom!
