Dayton is also home to the nation's largest paved trail network ("rails-to-trails"). We live here and love bicycling and kayaking (Little Miami River, Miami River, Caesar Creek, etc). Also, now 28 craft breweries as part of the Dayton Ale Trail. Many in old brick factories; great places to meet up with friends.

Very nice job, but I'd hate to hear of someone visiting Dayton who is a roller coaster fan and not be aware of Kings Island being only 40 minutes from downtown Dayton.

Just get the hell out of there before dark and always be alert. As many nice things are in that city, it has a STUPID high crime rate. My aunt and uncle owned properties there and I lived there for a year. In one of the "quieter" "safer" historical districts, there were constant armed robberies and several murders.

I grew up in Dayton. Ran away with a Rock band at 16 to get outta there. Went back in there 90's to care for family. Dayton Ohio had turned into a Quintin Tarantino movie with Hillbilly crackheads. When my mom passed away I moved to California. It rarely drops below 50 degrees in the Winter with No snow, No MAGAS And No Hillbilly crackheads. LOL

One of the most underrated things to do in Dayton is to buy crack cocaine.

Actually, I think heroin is more popular there. Plus, he forgot to mention that there are more vehicle crashes into homes/buildings than anywhere else in the country.

I couldn't find anything on the Internet to back up your more vehicle crashes into homes claim @@partsone72

@@partsone72most were on Wyoming street where the 35 exit ramp comes to a dead stop across the street from what used to be a 3 bedroom home. Every 4 or 5 years there was a car or Mac truck that just didn't wanna stop and ended up in the living room of the house. Grew up a few blocks away. In the 1970's some guy lost a really nice Mach 1 that way. Will never forget walking to the library up the street and there was an 18 Wheeler sticking out the house. The city finally put up concrete poles but the house has been gone for years. It's an empty field now.

I had never gone through the Air Force museum having lived in Dayton most of my life. So I went through it. You know what I thought after seeing all those war machines? I thought what a waste of genius and money which could have gone to make life better for everyone. I have no desire to go back. Yeah, perhaps I'm being idealistic, but doesn't one want things to have gotten better during one's life?
