Is it always safe to stroll around Yasaka shrine and Ninen Zaka at night? Are there still buses operating on those hours? Or would you suggest to take a cab?

It’s definitely safe to walk around at night in Kyoto. But operates usually until 10pm or so I think but there should be night bus. Cabs are so easy and cheap out there as well

How early do you recommend arriving at Arashiyama bamboo forest?

We went around 9:30 and the place was already lively with people! If you want to take a photo without ppl I recommend going even earlier 😊
