That's why we can see heaps of combinations of the cultures, races , religions and etniques here . thank you Sir for posting this amazing video .

Another amazing region of Malaysia, Melaka. Like in Penang, I see here beautiful traditional culture, different ethnic group, different religions living side by side in harmony, how the people keep their own traditional culture. To be honest, from your videos I've learned a lot of different culture. Due to my previous Austronesistik study in 🇩🇪, I am very happy to watch your traveling experience in Asia. For example here, I learned about the peranakan people. And ... for the first time I know that there is also Kampung Keling, like in Medan Sumatera Utara. I lived in Medan for 3 years. So many beautiful diverse places to visit. Did you buy Tanjak? Djemo, thank you for making this great guidance video ;)

Hi Dina. I'm very happy to hear that from you. Do you live in Malacca? Am thinking of visiting for a good period - say 2 months. What's the quality of the internet like?
@awkh214 жыл бұрын
@@wnose I do not live in Malacca but in Kuala Lumpur. Nonetheless, I've been to Malacca quite a few times, mostly for food and for a weekend getaway. Besides, it's only 2 hours away from Kuala Lumpur, so it's really easy to just drive over even for a days' trip. As for the internet... I'm pretty sure it's fairly good all over Malaysia, especially in the city/town areas. You should be able to have 4G access almost every part of the city/town unless if you're in the rural parts, probably it might be rather slower. Also, it depends very much on which service provider you got. At the moment, I believe Maxis-Hotlink mobile service provider is #1 in Malaysia. You can get an unlimited internet + calls (unlimited calls only within Malaysia) for a month's pass for really a fraction of a price. Really good deal. And if you're planning to stay for a longer period (by which I believe you'll probably rent a place via Airbnb or a homestay), it usually does come with high-speed Wifi. If any of these places don't provide that, you should get one that does because it's a necessity, not a choice. Aside to that, when you said "visiting for a good period of 2 months" I believe you meant for the whole of Malaysia, not just Malacca. For Malacca, I'd give it 4-5 days is more than enough. If you're a lazy traveller...make it a week tops. As for 2-months in Malaysia travel, I'd say that would cover pretty much a lot of places...not all, but a lot. Nonetheless, I believe Malaysia do offer tourist visa-free for up to 90 days, so...again; if you're a lazy traveller (like me), I would plan to extend. As said above, I live in Kuala Lumpur (KL for short), and if you want to know places in KL... you can always buzz me again. Happy travelling!
@wnose4 жыл бұрын
@@awkh21 Anthony, thank you very kindly for your detailed response. My dad was born in Malacca and I still have distant relatives living there. I haven't visited for over 40 years and the video really opened my eyes! I have a sabbatical coming up next year so Malacca looked interesting.
@awkh214 жыл бұрын
@@wnose It's good to have friends/relative in a place you travel. It really does save you a lot of money and your travel would be more exciting because they would definitely bring you to places where only locals go. These would be the true gem of travelling. Overall, Malacca is a small historical town with lots of stories dating back centuries, and if you're into history... you may, in fact, find it interesting. Another place with lots of history will be Penang island. It's like Malacca but 4 times the size. It's about 3.5 hours drive from Kuala Lumpur (5.5 hours from Malacca). You may want to spend more time in Penang given that it's bigger and it's more segregated (if that makes sense) and there are more to see and explore in Penang and of cause, it's famous for its authentic street food. No doubt you can find really good street food throughout Malaysia (not just in Penang) with really cheap prices as Malaysia is known to be the Street Food Capital of the World (self-proclaimed since no one actually recognize us for that even though I believe we should be given that title a long time ago). Nonetheless, we Malaysians are very proud of our food simply because it's so unique... so unique that you really have to give it a try.

@@DjemoGraphic i think that such an excuse is unacceptable. When you talk about something it's crucial to get all facts right. If you did not have the time then the topic shouldnt be covered at all. Conveniently leaving out a major aspect of what you're covering about is a misrepresentation. Secondly, you dont need to go into a building to show that it stands and it contributes a big aspect of the history. Thirdly, you failed to mention anything about the Tamils/Indians who were settlers here even before the europeans stepped foot, what more after they had invaded. This country consists largely of three nationalities, especially in its historial aspects.

@@suechan1727 This is a travel channel and not to be confused with a history channel. I am free to share my experience of the place. I apologize for not having been able to include the indian people. I did however include the indian community in my Singapore episodes.

@@DjemoGraphic travel channel is educational as well. In this video you touched on history and not just the places you visited, so they arent mutually exclusive. And as a local, it is a misrepresentation to me. Thanks.

@@suechan1727 And yes. The indian community is very interesting. I do find their culture and different religions very interesting. I will want to show more about the indians in Melaka and Penang next time. Thank you for underlining their significance

I just happened to look at your video. You have conveniently missed out one of the oldest hindu temple. Which is situated in the same row of other house of worship. Moreover, you didnt mentioned anything about tamilians who played a huge role in melaka . Seriously this is the kind of mis information given by ppl like you ! The 3 communities which played a huge roles were the tamils, malays and chinese and mixed cultures. Dnt just conveniently provided incorrect information.
@DjemoGraphic2 жыл бұрын
Hi Krishna. The temples door were closed on my visit and I was thus unable to show it. I had similar problems in Penang, but there filming wasnt allowed inside the temple. In Singapore however I showed all 3 major communities and I made a Deepavali Episode too🤗
@krishnagopalan20662 жыл бұрын
@@DjemoGraphic hi. Yes i agree due to timings the temple will be closed BUT you could have taken a video from outside of the temple which you did not and in your video you mentioned nothing about the the tamil community. Why is that ? The temple is dated since 1781. How is it that you dnt mention that. Again convenient misinformation from you.

@@krishnagopalan2066 Hi Krishna. This is a travel channel. Its not a science, history of even news channel. Misinformation is defined as deliberately providing false information, which is not the case. After all, I am showing what are "I my opinion" the best things to do in Melaka. The temple was closed. Thus, I could not speak of experience and neither show anything. Also consider the limited time I had to film all this, not even speaking of the efforts behind this video, which you probably dont see. I furthermore have nothing against Tamil people, In fact I have a big fascination for Hinduism, which is the Tamil's majority religion and the tamil/indian culture. You will see that in my Singapore videos.

Dimonopoli? Excuse me, these races came into Malaysia way before the europeans came in, their influence was strong and well spread. And even after the europeans came their influence spread and grew further! If your children forget about their culture thats your fault! This is a mixed racial country, if you get lost on the way, thats just too bad!
