I was there 1974-78 at Merrell Barracks. We were the Tactical Air Control Party supporting the 2nd ACR. It was the best assignment in my 22 year USAF career and Nürnberg is my favorite place in Germany.

I lived in Nurnberg back in the Mid 1960’s , before all the tourism. I had all the time in the world to meander the city nights. There is not a nook in the city that I have never trekked. To be honest I don’t like what my town has become. But heres to you, you did. A great job on the video.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it, I would of loved to see what Nurnberg looked like in the 1960s. It’s definitely my favorite place in Germany

Yes, you know it well 😘 I was there last in 2013 with my husband...it was a cold beautiful, snowy Christmas night. It was bittersweet returning to Canada from Nuernberg Airport. The City is so easy to get around. Taxi, Streetcar, Bus, Train, Subway to Airport. However our world is changing...but the memories stay. Alles Liebe und Gute for you❣

Hi, I’ll be travelling to Germany next month and looking for some ideas. Did you guys go to Nuremberg as a day trip or stay overnight? Your video is so nice!
@theNicoleRyan Жыл бұрын
Hi YK Mo! We stayed in Nuremberg for about a month total using it as a base to explore most of Bavaria and also hike the Malerweg over our 3 months in Germany. Nuremberg is pretty central when using the Deutsche Bahn (train system) as your main means of transit for the area. Public transportation is GREAT in Germany. Happy to help you come up with ideas if you want to pass along your itinerary! And THANK YOU for the nice comment 😊

I was there in June last year with my brother for a week, during the heatwave! We’re going back this year again in June. A lovely well kept city. I loved it tho I was getting a bit fed up eating sausages all the time (it was hard to find any other type of food) 😂
@theNicoleRyan Жыл бұрын
You’re not wrong! There were a lot of sausages 😂I’m actually vegan so I can recommend Guerilla Gröstl Burger Foodhouse - they had vegan and non vegan burgers and were very good! Also some great cafes right in the center of town. We were there a few times last year but August was definitely very hot!

Is the 200 Meilen von Nürnberg still held? When I was there in 1974-78, the city took down the two towering ends of the tribune where the large fire cauldrons were mounted. I was able to get a brick from the rubble.

i would like to spend a week in this historical city. at the same time i would like to visit other surrounding cities like Regensburg and Dresden etc by train. how much cost a return trip from Nurnberg to Munich , and from Nurnberg to Dresden?

@theNicoleRyan Жыл бұрын
We actually went to Prague for a few weeks right after Germany we loved it! We went to Prague only planning to stay 1 week but then extended another week to fully explore it. Now that you mention it, we can definitely see similarities in their architecture 🤔 We haven't been to Krakow yet but Poland is certainly on our list. That just gives us one more reason to make it out there. Thank you for your insight. That was thoughtful to share and we appreciate it!

I am glad video took your tour out to the rally grounds, however you like many other would be tourist content makers you missed the Nazi Panzer Kaserne where Hitler had his offices and apartment. The facilities was also know as Sudkaserne. The post was a Radio school and housed Hitlers SS troops. Currently it is an immigration sanctuary for all displaced peoples in from the Mid- eastern shit holes.
