Never install a heater right under a window or next to a door! But I was impressed with the heater. I'm thinking of getting one so I'm watching multiple KZbins!! Thanks!

I know, not the best install but I was limited on space in the tiny house. It is a good little heater though! Thanks for watching and the comment!

The heater uses convection. This method draws cold air from the floor and pulls it upward through the top. I think two things here in your installation are hindering the effectiveness of the heater. 1.) by design it should be closer to the floor to draw cold air into the unit. 2.) Being placed under the window is slowing down the convection of cold air is constantly falling from the window onto the top of the unit it is slowing the flow of hot air rising out of the unit. I think if it was moved away from the window and closer to the floor it would perform more efficiently.

I'm pretty sure the instructions even say not to install them under windows.

D Mac - 💯 You’re right! If it’s mounted too high or under a window, the physics of the Envi heater are defeated 😕

I recently bought one of these heaters for our bedroom as an emergency heat during a power outage. I have one Tesla Powerwall. This unit only pulls .5kw and keeps our bedroom comfortable. I would highly recommend the Envie. It should be mounted no more than 8 inches from the floor. It heats similar to one of those oil filled 1500 watt heater. However, it feels like the hot air is blowing out although it has no fan.

fellow powerwall user represent. !! :> I am trying to find something that uses less energy than the dyson heater which pulls 1.9kw an hour, and your comment answers it. 0.5 draw is awesome

I believe the instructions state 10 X 12' room. The 10 X 20' you are trying to head is a little too large for this heater. You could however mount one at each end of the 20' room and be just fine.

Very helpful! I was thinking of installing one of these in my barn tack room. I wondered if it would heat it well enough since it's a small space. Your demo helped me make an informed decision. Thanks so much for all this very detailed information!

That lip of window trim is interrupting the vortex dynamic. Biggest heating error was building a vaulted ceiling. All the heat is collecting overhead:/

Thank you for effort of putting this review out here. I have a similar need and this helped me decide what I needed. I’m going with a fan based wall mount like to eltron ck. Hoping the1500 watt boost mode will help heat things up quickly and then go into a lower power mode. Thanks again

I mounted the Envi according to the instructions that came with it... only 8 inches above the floor, and with no window directly above it. It has worked so well in my 10'x14' bedroom that I bought 3 more for other rooms in the house, cancelled my original plan to install a mini split, and the Envi heaters are now my primary heat source for my entire home. I highly recommend them! He installed it all wrong- too high on the wall and directly below a window.

Awesome! Looking to use one of these for a small to medium sized bedroom. It used to have 220 baseboard heat, as does the rest of the home as it's an early 90's house in the northeast US so that's not uncommon. Well, the heater in the bedroom has been kaput for years, and I've been using an oil filled radiator space heater in it. Well, I want something more permanent so I'll install one of these because I've since covered up the baseboard with furnature and don't want to rearrange the room. There is a version of this heater that runs on 220v and doesn't have the built-in thermostat so I can install a Mysa Smart Thermostat (one of the only and probably the best smart thermostats for line voltage electric heat, Nest and Ecobee etc are for low-voltage applications and relay driven systems only) and the rest of the house has Mysas and then I control it centrally remotely or with some Google Homes etc.

You should get a micathermic panel heater. They get hot instantly and would heat that building in minutes.

if you lower it to six inches off the floor it will suck the cold air off the floor and be much more efficient with the chimney effect

The company says to install on an interior wall which you appear not to have. Your next cabin should have closed-cell spray foam insulation in 2" X 6" walls and roof decking. You might want to install an aluminum storm door and additional storm windows also. What city and state is the cabin located please ?

What is the square footage of that cabin? Those heaters only cover 130-150sf. It looks like you might have at least 200 sf and probably needed a second one. If that heater warmed that big of a space up that much, and its that cold outside, Id say that worked pretty good. It probably would have worked if you had 2.

Cabin is roughly 200 sq ft. Intent longer term was to use as a back up / extra only. Lot of things I could have done better with the install. Appreciate the comment!

I would use a Mr. Buddy propane heater to heat it up and take the chill off when you arrive then switch to the wall heater when you goto sleep. Best of both worlds. But looking at the age of this video you probably already have the wood stove in.

On some of the stuff about these type of units. It says, if its not warm enough, you can install 2 units. Do you think a higher wattage unit would work better? Nice job, great review.

There are fans that work off heat mostly used for wood stoves one the heater gets to qa certain heat level I dont know if ur heater would get hot enough unless u mounted it right at the top where the blower pushes the air out!? They cost around 150 bucs n mostly used for or with wood stoves! Or look into a rocket mass heater duno a bit overkill in a small space like yours but the idea is once the mass unit is warmed up it stays warm for several days without constantly feeding the fire like in a wood stove. And you burn less wood because of this. So its like how do you make a match burn twice? Or like having a heat bank to store your heat from your stove there was a guy who lived in Montana in a Tee Pee all winter n this rocket mass heater kept him warm all winter> You cant buy them you have to build them yourself. Im sure there are you tube videos on it

It is possible that the reason your thermostat reading is not going up very much or quickly is because, oh I don’t know, YOU PUT IT UNDER A WINDOW! Also YOU ripped the box. If you had followed directions and set the templet on the floor, fold the SIDE edges in then the top wouldn’t even matter if it was torn. I didn’t see you put the locking screw in the bottom which securely holds it to the wall. Luckily the Envi heater is smarter than some people because it turns off if it comes off the wall.

The tiny house is off grid and runs off a generator, which is why we went with this model - lower wattage meant it wouldn't put out as much heat, but also wouldn't over tax the generator. I'm only up there every other weekend in the winter, so for me its not a continuous use item
