Best Tip To Set A Seam Allowance On Your Machine - It's A Game-Changer!

In this sewing video, I am sharing with you a game-changer for me in working out my seam allowances on my sewing machine. I was forever using a ruler or sticking washi tape to the needle plate as my guide but this easy and simple trick will transform your sewing, believe me! I'm sure its the same setting for all machines .......
The settings I use on my Brother machine with the presser foot against the edge of the fabric are:
Stitch width
00 = 1/2 inch seam allowance
2.0 = 3/8 inch
5.5 = 1/4 inch
7.0 = 3/16 in

This is actually a good idea. I always have trouble following the seam guides, as they are generally underneath the fabric. The 1/2" seam falls right there on the edge of the foot, which makes it so easy. I'm going to figure out how to get the others to land there also. Thanks for the tip!

I found this invaluable for sewing doll clothes with a 1/4" seam, especially when I was sewing a curved bodice piece onto a straight piece and really needed to squeeze a line of stay stitching in there (silk satin) 😬 I'm so happy to not only understand my new electronic machine better but be a more competent seamstress as well! Thanks a million; you're a real lifesaver 🤗
