Heyo! I made this a few weeks ago, but had to hold off due to some problems behind the scenes. I am already working on a Sherlock Holmes Awakened reboot video! It will be out in around two weeks or so - depending on how everything goes! But hope you guys enjoy the new video! ♥

I've been enjoying your other videos and I'm twice glad to have another Sherlock one. Nicely done! Edit: You've gotten great at adding humor and little turns to these vids. I'd be very interested to see your take on the Awakening remake beyond just the demo, but mostly just because I think it would be fodder for someone as versed in these games as you (also fantastic shout out to the Jeremy Brett series).

And yeah the one thing I'll give credit to Devil's Daughter for is that they brought an 1880's Baker Street to life beautifully, I frankly only want that part though lol and wish there was a way to cut that part out and add it to Crimes & Punishments instead lol​@@YTRattle

As for the other older games they're so clunky and slow with so many meaningless fetch-quests it genuinely takes away from my enjoyment of them; after you've played something as damn-near perfect as Crimes & Punishments it's kinda hard to go back ​@@YTRattle

I have only played the Devil's Daughter and now I'm sad because of it, however your videos did motivated me to look up the other games (most of which I never knew existed), because while I did enjoyed the actual mystery solving aspect of TDD, I have pretty much the same negatives you pointed out (character assassination, annoying QTEs, etc.). Also, I must point out here that I absolutely despise the temple section of the game and it should NOT exist

Just followed after seeing your equestrian videos on my homepage, and I really enjoy your writing style and voice! Your work is great to listen to while drawing. :) The intro music to this video was such a pleasant surprise! Brains by Voltaire has such a nice sound to it, very fitting for the subject matter here lol. Hearing it in the wild stunned me for a moment. I just had to comment. :)

Ahhh! A person of culture I see! I LOVE Voltaire! And thank you very much! I'm working on a couple of bigger video, they take a bit of time to get out, but they will at least be a decent length! I know when I'm doing tasks around the house I always look for lengthy vids! And I'm so jealous, casue I'm not good at drawing XD!

There's some irony i learned, I didn't know about Lupin from the novels or the proposed crossover with Sherlock that never happened. And now I find a new appreciation for Detective Conan and the crossovers with Lupin the 3rd.

I think The Devils Daughter suffered from the same problems as the Resident Evil games (especially re6), the game creators saw the success of the television/film adaptations and tried to recreate it within their games

Of these 4 I only played Nemesis (and 3 other games from the 1st video). I went into it completely blind. What I liked about it was the environments, especially the National Gallery and the British Museum, as well as the Tower of London (but less). But it's true that the puzzles here are sometimes very difficult. Funny enough, initially I was discombobulated (a new English word for me 😁) because of Lupin's riddles in the British Museum. But once I got the hang of it, I went along quite well in solving them. My fav one of these was with the Solar system model. And near the end of the game, the riddle with the Yeomen Warder lockers.

LOL, sorry! XD Just never liked Nemesis, especially for its portrayal of Watson. As for Devil's Daughter it was a jarring change from C&P which captured Holmes so damned well. But if you love those two games, more the power to you! :D ♥

Quick question, have ya tried playing the Mystery of the Mummy via any sort of Emulator? The game has that style that i really am into and you mentioned some isseus with performance would be interesting to know if emulation can avoid these.

Your bottom 2 are mine as well. I don't know why, but I like Sherry and Watson's looks and characteristics in Chapter 1 and Awakened 2023. However, I am not a fan of their Devil's Daughter renditions. I hated Watson's look. Sherlock reminded me of a mix between Gregory House MD and Nathan Drake from Uncharted. Kate and Alice, for me, were the worst part of the game. I was trying to find a way to send her back to the boarding school so I didn't have to bother with her. (Bad parent, I know😅)

Haha! I can understand that! Holmes turned into such a dunce the second she turned up, and there was never a right answer to anything. it was just awful. Pity! As I rather liked the setup, the applications of the concept was just poorly handled :\

The mechanics in Devil's Daughter were such a disappointment and sucked all the enjoyment for the game out of me. And it's not only the quicktime events that are terrible to do on PC, but it also has obstructive camera angles and bad pathing in those sneak-type scenarios. A study in green almost made me give up on the game altogether, just for having so many frustrating gameplay elements in a single case.

After Crimes & Punishments, The Devil’s Daughter was a terrible disappointment.

Devil's Daughter Sherlock seems so out of place. I can forgive a younger Sherlock being a little more fan-fictiony, it would make sense that a younger Sherlock would be more cocksure, impatient, and brash, and it feels like the story arc of The Awakened remake and Chapter One is supposed to be about knocking his confidence about so that he becomes the more withdrawn adult Holmes, but then Devil's Daughter appears out of nowhere and is somehow supposed to take place after Testament. It seems like Devil's Daughter Sherlock would fit somewhere between young Sherry and adult Sherlock Holmes, but even then there's still a bunch of plot reasons that doesn't fit.

In no way was Devils daugther a bad game or one of the worst. It fits with Chapter one & Awakened. It’s obviously a reboot of the franchise, but that doesn’t make it bad. I loved them all 3

SPOILERS FOR THE DEVIL'S DAUGHTER i'm offended that you think about "moping" men like that and i didn't like your comment. i like the idea of exploring sherlock's vulnerabilities with having to care for the daughter of his nemesis and what kind of fear that would bring him as a step father, worrying that his step daughter would grow up to be like Moriarty, keeping her from finding out the truth. Even so, i agree that the devil's daughter characters are all over the place and bland. I was let down that they made him look young and trendy.

@@YTRattle Well I mean, that's clearly your opinion, and not everyone rejects people who open up about their issues, or "moping" as you say. But I have to say I don't see that coming across in the game. Seems to me that you project that to the character more than anything, or we must've had a very different experience.
