That looks crazy realistic but not quite as Weedless as the others. I think that would excel around Pads or open water and I would add a trailer hook lol. I’ve used the LunkerHunt and they are super soft and realistic but no Luck yet. Stay safe my Friend Oh and Walmart sells an actual croaking Topwater Frog lol that takes a battery with 2 hooks and looks Weedless.

Sixty-five year old Canadian Fisherman here who has been fishing bass on surface baits for half a century in the Great Lakes area. I haven’t tried the new Live Target frog but your comments are well taken. In response to your short strike comment I wonder how durable the legs are to these strikes and whether missed strikes may be in part attributed to attempting hook sets too quickly. When I first started to use surface frogs I, like many new users, experienced a low strike to hook set ratio. I will honestly admit the ratio was as poor as 1 out of 5 strikes. I have since learned that bass usually strike a lure and then reposition the bait in their mouth while swimming away. If the bass is short striking, give it time to reposition the lure before attempting a hook set. Patience was the secret to my better hook set ratios. I typically use the two second wait rule before trying to set the hook. I have even waited longer if I can’t feel the bait in the bass’ mouth. Since using this technique my hook set ratios have doubled if not tripled. In the last 4 or 5 years I have been using the Ribbit Toad for most of my surface fishing. You can throw it into almost anything, it is a great search bait, and, my hook up ratio is easily 80 - 90 percent. Recently SPRO created the Scum Frog Bigfoot which has similar leg action to the Ribbit Toad. I bought several Bigfoots last week and look forward to trying them out when the season opens. I also want to bring to your attention a lure by ChaseBaits called the Bobbin.Frog which appears to have an identical leg set up as the new Live Target Frog. ( I wonder about Patent issues) I’ve been using the ChaseBait Bobbin.Frog for about 3 years now with very good success. They are a lot more expensive (if you can find them in Canada) than Live Target. Thanks for your info, have a great one. Glenn

Glenn, thanks for the comment. Hope your a sub and have these comments more. Love it. Patience is important when frog fishing for sure. I use the same style, I wait until I feel the bite instead of setting the hook when you SEE the bite. The LiveTarget frog is kinda special to me. I really like this one, but the Scum Frog's are a staple for me. Cheers and Happy New Year!
