Here it is, was looking forward to this. fantastic video to share with people looking for where to start for shopping, way more trustworthy and informed resource than pretty much anything else. Here's to another year of trying new travel bags in exciting new places!

I think that if Cabin Zero added load lifters and maybe a zippable cover for the carry system it would be a top pack
@OneBagTravels3 күн бұрын
They do have load lifters on some of their packs, like the ADV and Military packs, but not on any of the Classic bags.

Thanks for the year end round up. MLC’s been one of my fav’s for a while, but I picked up a couple Evergoods bags and I’ve gotten to really like their bag design.
@OneBagTravelsАй бұрын
Evergoods is one of my favorite brands, just simple, durable and well designed.
@dy-hanАй бұрын
Another backpack that flies completely under the radar but is a good alternative for the Osprey Daylite 26+6 and the Cabin Zero Classic is the Tomtoc Navigator-G43 Travel Backpack for PS5 Console (30L). Yes it’s technically meant for a ps5 but the way it’s designed gives you a huge main internal compartment with 2 elastic straps to hold down clothes/packing cubes, a big secondary front compartment that’s divided into two parts top and bottom, serving as another “built in packing cube” or toiletry organizer space, and a smaller front compartment perfect for throwing random miscellaneous items for quick easy access. Best part js that it only cost $50 and still fits the dimensions for personal size items for budget airlines. It uses the same material as the 40L Navigator, but is a much more minimalist backpack. Would definitely recommend giving that a look or even a review so others can have alternatives that won’t break the bank and availability.

That's a fantastic suggestion, I hadn't noticed that bag, I'll check it out
@Porter4213Ай бұрын
In my opinion nothing beats the Rush 24 from 5.11. It’s built like a tank ! Huge amount of organization as well. I have been using mine as my carry on for short get a ways. Entire bag is double stitched with box stitching on the attach points. YKK zippers too. Bag is built to carry to hell and back. Should last a life time if taken care of of course.
@OneBagTravelsАй бұрын
It's a good bag for sure

Just in time! I'm working on a short Black Friday Sale video, some good deals out there!
@DracomiesАй бұрын
I love the ULA Dragonfly. I pretty much use that on all restrictive airlines. But if the airline is more forgiving then I'll use Bellroy Transit 28L (old version, black)
@OneBagTravelsАй бұрын
Bellroy Transit is a good one
@davemartin7227Ай бұрын
@@OneBagTravels I love the ULA DragonFly, but it's not very professional-looking. I just picked up the transit to try out for a work trip in a couple of weeks based on these reviews you shared recently on it. It's a fantastic bag in testing at home and could definitely pass a little better in a conference room that my beat up ULA DF lol. Thanks for all the great reviews and packing demos! These videos rock!
@OneBagTravelsАй бұрын
@@davemartin7227 Yeah that's the downside, great pack but it looks like an hiking bag. The black color is pretty low key though and it's not super obvious if you don't put stuff in the external pockets, but yeah it would probably look out of place at a work conference.
@rptempmail1Ай бұрын
thanks for your great review (as always). Since all the packs in your review here are less than 35L, can you please also make a Best Travel Backpacks of 2024 Annual Review of the travel packs that are carryon compliant but larger than 35L for those of us that need larger travel packs for long trips or are not minimalists? thank in advance !
@OneBagTravelsАй бұрын
That's a great suggestion, part of the reason I didn't do that is I usually have the smaller sizes so I don't really have a pile of larger packs to compare. However, many of these bags come in larger versions than the ones I'm showing, which I'd probably just feature if I did a second video with larger bags. For example bags from this list with larger versions: Aer Travel Pack 3 - 35L Evergoods CTB35 Cabin Zero Classic Pro 42 Cotopaxi Allpa 35 Bellroy Lite 38 Patagonia MLC 45 Tom Bihn Techonaut 45 ULA Dragonfly 35 Cabin Zero Military 36

Thank you for the reviews! Have you consider revealing the 36 L dragonfly? If not, do you have any thoughts on it?

@jcap8391Ай бұрын
@@OneBagTravelsThe minimalist should have been my Aer go pack 2 that I purchased bc of you😢😔
@OneBagTravelsАй бұрын
@@jcap8391 Yes that's true, that's an amazing pack, but I would consider that a daypack, I was trying to make this video just regular travel backpacks.
@timecrash85Ай бұрын
My opinion after owning the 30L Dragonfly (Ultra): The 36L will be so close to 40L~44L cabin bag sizes, it would have to compete against Osprey Daylite 44, Cabin Zero Plus 42L, TomToc Navigator 40L at the same weight class and comfort while missing stowaway backpack straps and luggage passthrough. ULA is very expensive to ship outside USA.
@wizerdjuice9589Ай бұрын
Nice reviews. Any expandable with a separate shoulder strap?
@OneBagTravelsАй бұрын
Like an over the shoulder strap? Mostly duffels, maybe the Pakt bags, those are good but I didn't include any here.
@mindbendernineАй бұрын
No mention of the Able Carry Max? The Max has been one of my favorite bags for years. It's great to see Tom Bihn included on your list as I did pick up the Tom Bihn Techonaut 45L and it is HUGE. Great video
@OneBagTravelsАй бұрын
The Max is a good bag, it would be on my list of top 20 packs
@copper7187Ай бұрын
Curious on why the GR2 26L didn't make the list, was it because of the weight?
@DracomiesАй бұрын
It's a dealbreaker for many, including myself.
@OneBagTravelsАй бұрын
I like the bag but yes it's heavy. I'm looking at testing the ripstop version of the GR1 so maybe that'll make the list next time
@arturbecker9936Ай бұрын
Thanks for the summary! On the Aer Travel 3 Small, did you have any experience using a hip belt with it? I wonder what the ideal torso size would be to do that and have the hip belt carry most of the load?
@OneBagTravelsАй бұрын
I haven't tried it with the hip belt, the Small version I don't think really needs it unless you're carrying a lot of tech gear, not sure on the sizing.

Im thorn!!!! I got far point 40 I havent used is huge, comfy, but big big, Im looking at Peak Design 30L, looks more like it would fulfill my need, plus I can put it underneath the airplane seat, what do you think> Thanks and Merry Christmas.
@OneBagTravels8 күн бұрын
Hello Thorn! Peak Design is good, much simpler pack, it'll probably fit under most airplane seats but not all.
@orangutan29Ай бұрын
Thanks for putting together such a great overview, it's really time saving. I'm intrigued by the Mystery Ranch Mission Rover series (30L and 45L) which have been recently updated and was wondering if you'd ever considered them?
@OneBagTravelsАй бұрын
I've tried the Mission Rover 30, I took it as a carry-on to Ecuador a few years ago. It's a good bag and high quality, the downside for me is the weight and front pocket is very slim and doesn't hold much.
@jknight526Ай бұрын
What about the Six Moons All Day Carry backpack? Is great for travel. Light, clamshell opening, plenty of pockets, and durable. Have you tried it?
@OneBagTravelsАй бұрын
I haven't tried it but this is the second mention of Six Moons so I'm thinking I should pick one up
@jknight526Ай бұрын
@ they don’t do much marketing, but I picked one up earlier this year and have enjoyed it. A bit busy with the lengthy straps, but still a great bag. Excellent channel by the way. Keep em coming!

Love your reviews. Been a long time subscriber. One of the best. A quick note on Tortuga. They would be more successful if they shipped outside of US. For 5 years now they keep making up excuses. Every other company can do it. Cheers.
@OneBagTravelsАй бұрын
Good point, I'm not sure why they don't other than being a smaller company and US based. Some other brands like Tom Bihn do international but they charge extra for it.

Great video! In the market for a personal item backpack that I could also take to the office with a 16" laptop. Love the look and function of the bellroy bags but doesn't seem like any fit the personal item size requirements? Leaning towards Aer go pack2, any other suggestions?
@OneBagTravels23 күн бұрын
Aer Go Pack 2 is good, but a little light on padding, more of a packable daypack. Alpaka Metro is nice, Cabin Zero has some good personal item bags too.

is the updated cabin zero military 28 any different in capacity or it's pretty much the same as the older one? I remember you tested the volume and it came out to 22-23 liters instead the 28 that's listed on their site, would it be the same with the update I'm assuming?
@OneBagTravelsАй бұрын
It looks like it's the same size, the bag is nearly identical except for a few minor details, like they added a padded panel to the bottom but the capacity looks the same.
@budbx90Ай бұрын
@@OneBagTravels I see. Another question. Since the 28 liter military is actually 22-23 liters. Do you think the military 36 liters is actually more like 30 liters instead?
