We usually travel with carry ons and use a bungee cord to strap our youngest child’s car seat to one of our roller bag. I’m convinced the person that runs the TSA social media also runs the one for the National Parks Service.

Fyi, you can also freeze your drinks no matter how many ounces and bring them through TSA. I like to bring cold pressed juices for long flights, more hydrating during the flight and most will defrost on the flight if you have a long one.

Great ideas. We use all of these. I hope you don’t mind me adding this. Whatever car seat you bring on the plane, make sure it’s airplane compatible. The airline stopped us once and asked to check and make sure it’s airplane compatible. Both car seats Meg linked are. If you use your own, check to make sure there’s a small icon on the side of your car seat that shows an airplane. If so, you should be good to go!

Hello, Thanks for video! Can You tell, who have experience in traveling with car seat and cart. What should I do with cart before gate. I should disconnect them (seat and cart). And after that cart is like separately "hand baggage"? red bags for holding strollers / car seat (when it goes to the baggage department ) will give us in airport or i should buy it earlier? And also kid can dive in that cart+seat till his place in the plane? Or I shoud disconnect if and they will go ?

Do you have recommendations for kids’ travel backpacks? I’m trying to pack a bag for each child to carry their own clothing, snacks and activities. We will have a washing machine at our destination. I’ve seen collapsible water bottles. I’m curious what your thoughts are on those! Thank you so much!

Hey! We don't like to spend a lot of extra money just to get travel backpacks for the kids. We have a few extra old school backpacks they usually take as their carry ons and we typically just take the water bottles they already own. Maybe it would be helpful either way to use a compression bag to save space. I've seen the collapsible water bottles but never have personally tried them! Might be worth a try to see if it saves space!

The car seat as a carry-on bag would not work in most airlines…definitely do not try this on low cost airlines (or most non-US airlines?) 😂

It absolutely DOES work because it fits under the seat. The car seat is put in the ticketed passenger's seat and the bag collapses down underneath the seat. I'm not aware of airlines charging for a "personal item" that fits underneath the seat in front of you. We do not put it in the overhead bin. We've done this countless times on budget airlines as well!

@@Meg_O maybe the video is misleading on the size of the carseat/backpack when filled with the carseat:) We're based in Europe and most of our airlines will have strict size restrictions on carry-on luggage. Ryanair for example only allows a small bag of 40X20X25 cm, anything bigger has to be paid for and can be - at its biggest - 55X40X20cm. And it's definitely not something we can get around by being friendly, unfortunately :( I love the idea though, nice to see it can be an option in some places around the world

@@Kagi-jv9se But I wasn't misleading. I said multiple times that we take the car seat out of the bag and the bag folds down under the seat. I'm assuming those dimensions you quoted are for personal items that stow underneath the seat in front of you? This car seat bag folds down and fits VERY easily underneath the seat. Also, RyanAir states on their website that you can carry on 2 items of carry-on baby equipment for free (per child), and you are allowed to bring a car seat on board. So again, I'm not sure how this is not compliant.
