As a former flight attendant, i would strongly advise against using the boiled water on a flight as I noticed a number of times that the tanks were not cleaned regularly! I never order a hot drink as a passenger on a flight for this reason!

@crimsonbride always carry antibacterial wipes!! As soon as you get to your seats give as much as possible a wipe over. It's very very rare that seats and trays are wiped between flight, it tends to just be a general pick of of large litter

Tiny small tip from my previous experience that super helped me since I did it by myself bringing my one year old just to add when it comes to the change of clothes; rompers or onsies w/ the zippers are like the easiest & fastest clothes to bring.

Love your tips and in addition: Diaper bag has to be tote, you can squish that better under the seat infront of you. Nothing spills out. Formula: I use plastic individual pouches from Amazon. Less space for it too. Pre-fill the bottles with water TSA doesn't care. I wash bottles with Ubbi travel drying rack and I use castille soap for everything.

These are great tips! I’m almost 36 weeks with our first and we’ve talked about taking a short flight to visit family when she’s about 6-8 weeks old and this is so helpful, even though she’ll be so small and won’t need entertaining like a toddler. 😂

Security is required to allow you to bring breastmilk or formula in any quantity (even if the baby is not present - for breastmilk and dry formula) because it is considered medically necessary and therefore exempt from the liquids rule! It does need to go through extra screening, but you can absolutely bring it!

Years ago when we traveled with our son who was not quite two, to have him drink something when taking off and landing. As they get older, swallowing food or drink helps with clearing the ear “popping” which can be painful. That is why most of the times you hear babies or young children crying is because they are unable to clear their ears from the pressure.

Call the airline before you book tickets to make sure they have a bassinet. Then book your tickets. Most airlines allow them to be used up to 2 years old.

I would say it doesn’t hurt to overpack some extra diapers and formula/milk. We ended up on what should’ve been a short flight with a short layover in Atlanta with my 10 months old and had decided to check our bags and just take a minimal diaper bag with us. Of course our flight got delayed, we trusted the employee at the gate who said we would totally still make our connecting flight. We didnt. And it was the last flight out for the night so we had to stay at an airport hotel. I panicked a ran around looking for somewhere to buy diapers or milk in the airport and who would’ve thought, there is not a single place to buy a diaper in an airport?! I had like 3 diapers left and one bottle of formula to make it to the next day. We got home with my baby wearing the last diaper I had and had to make it work with yogurt and random airport snacks. It was stressful. Not even the airport hotel we stayed at had diapers or milk. We had no car and only the shuttle to get back to the airport. Don’t book flights with a layover late at night.

This is very helpful. Flying alone with my baby soon. Do you recommend to filled the baby bottle with distilled water before the flight? Thank you:)
@BethGraceMoore Жыл бұрын
Only if you're able to do it after you're past the gate since they'll dump it in security! But yes that's a great option esp. if your baby is fine with drinking at room temp :)
@Velveteen2 Жыл бұрын
They should not dump it in the security. You just need to say that it is for the baby. I did the same. Parents are allowed liquids that are for the baby. I had 1 liter of water with me
@angelicamartinez473910 ай бұрын
All tips are very good thank you… That said, with formula you’re supposed to put the water first and then formula powder 🤔 So the pre prepared bottles with just the powdered formula in them and no water is not gonna work…
