Hi there from Australia Love the old 5-2 wasn’t a fan of the replacement, but didn’t know about auto feeder part. You could always fit the 2.4 (0.95) in the FS38/45 The FS45-C have the easy start, pull lightly to start. The downfall is the price of the replacement nuts when worn out, feeding the line in isn’t Gard. We don’t have FS50 in Australia but the FS85 has been discontinued in Australia.

FS85 was a great unit! Those were discontinued a while ago in the States. Also, PLEASE commercial users, do not buy any of these 3 units and expect them to last!

@@silencedmatrix2140 has a look today we have FS 70, FS91, and FS 94c at the lower end of the range. The FS70 doesn’t have the grease Nipple on the gearbox as they where discontinued on the FS55 but on FS85 and above. They no longer have the 20-2 head on them they have moved to the new style. I’d suggest the. Home user to go for the FS91 or higher.

I never tried putting 2.4 (.095) in the 5-2 thanks for that. There was an easy feed style head before this newer C6-2 that the line didn’t pass all the way through and it wasn’t any good, the new one here is a dramatic improvement.

@@mainstreetmower fits fine the twisted line is a little challenging, shorter length in spool and lasts longer. Like the Shakespeare Ugly Line 😀🇦🇺

I bought a used Stihl FS45C 12-15 years ago and still going strong. It came with precut head that use 8" trimmer line. I am tire of changing trimmer line and want to change to Autocut head. Does anyone has good recommend? Do I need to buy a bolt that hold new trimmer head? If yes, what is the size or part number?

Great videos on the curved still trimmers . My brother gave me his fs45 curved trimmer. I needed a new head so I bought one off of Amazon but when I installed it and start the trimmer it tightens the head to the shaft so that the head will not turn. If that makes since. What am I doing wrong?

A word of advice for all people that are going to trimm their garden. Cut the entire yarn of line into 3 or 4 meter long pieces. That way you will save a lot of time and some nerves trying to unwind the yarn of line. It will be much quicker to spool the trimmer head that way.

That's great advice.

hello -do the polycut blades have to kept in water before use? many thanks
@putkipihvi3244 ай бұрын
Question about maintaining line. Can you keep the whole Stihl trimmer heads separately or even the shaft head attached in a water bucket without an issue along the way? Everyone says that the line should be dropped into a water bucket before use but spooling out the line for wetting it is a hassle.

will the stihl polycut 6-2 head work on a echo GT 225 weed trimmer
@lazarusblackwell6988 Жыл бұрын
I used C 6 2 just today. I ran out of line so i tried to put a new line on but something was jamming it so i opened it up and saw that there was some line left on the spool so thats why i couldnt guide the line through both holes. So i got rid of the remaining default line and changed the line just like it is said in the instructions. Still i had to open the C 6 2 head to get rid of the old line. Still it was worth getting the new head. Not perfect but worth it.

Yes, you often find you haven't run out of line, it's just snapped off, so you do have to open it, pull out the old line and do it up, put it back in, especially when you're on gravel or against a fence.

the C6-2 is a good head but it jams up when used on longer wet grass. which drives me mad. Ryobi were the first to make this tYpe of head and it was excellent.

Only exactly new to stihl, but to their weedeater line. It seems like - (this videos a year old) our technology is at best lacking in upgrades. This is the as lot across the board. Look at a spark plug wire: we stab an insulated wire to hopefully connect metal to metal - to energize the spark plug!! This bump head-- RYOBI has a better idea in bump heads than the top of the line companies?? Idk- I feel this is why we really haven’t made contact with any other society in the universe because we’re not an intelligent enough species
