It’s not like this is all scripted, a lot of it is spontaneous but of course they don’t go in there completely unprepared and make a show like this in one uninterrupted stream. Sometimes they try things out, discuss improvements and re-take bits until they work.

What you're suggesting wouldn't really work for episodes like the ones with Brad Taste in Music where the joke is that they're being extra unhinged to try and provoke reactions out of Brad which wouldn't be genuine if they kept redoing things. Also Grant would have to be fake laughing. edit: like, for example, live improv shows exist. idk why it'd be farfetched for hivemind to be raw improvisation
