One thing to note: If you have 315/80 tires on drive axle and 385/55 on the trailer, the trailer will be lower.

Ok so if I am reading this correctly. The best is to have the same size wheels all around the truck, preferably with better fuel savings and lower dB and anything better than stock wheels for weather grip.

Your gearbox and differential gear will determine your maximum speed, providing you have enough power. But a bigger wheel does act a bit like a gear because of the extra circumference. However the game only has a limited set of default gearboxes and engines. I make my own. You need to bear in mind in the real world tyres have a speed rating above which they can fail. For reference, about 120 Kph or 75 mph, unless you are into truck racing. One final point: different makes wear at different rates. Only a simple distance = wear % is modelled in ETS2.

Number of axles and size of engine will affect fuel economy. A 4x2 with a small engine and an overdrive gear on flat ground with a light load and low RPM will keep your fuel consumption low.

Is it advisable to put one type of tire on the front of the truck and another type of tire on the drive axles? or better to put all of the same?

@@Turgineer As I did when I measured it. They are about equal. But 315/80 gives +10 km/h to the maximum speed.

Awesome work, but. You didn't show the most important thing. Noise examples. How much more is 70 over 67 and things like that. I tested my self some time ago and did't find much difference, I'd love to see more detailed comparsion.

I usually go with A-rated Michelin tires in ETS2 and Goodyear in ATS.

For non-driven axle, the Energy F (the A rated one) has worse fuel economy than Energy Z (B rated) due to being wider.

Hey AP101 great video, very informative. I was wondering how much of this applies to ATS? Do the Michelin and Goodyear packs for that game also come with bigger tyres that increase your top speed? Also in ATS the different tyres don't show fuel economy, weather, and noise values, are all tyres the same or do they have hidden values in the code files? Thank you. Maybe an idea for another video ;)

Som tu, aby som videl nové video od Ťa. Našiel som opis o kolesách, i v prípade, ak som ho prečítal správne: 👉 "Jazdiť na zimných pneumatikách počas leta je takmer takým nebezpečným rozhodnutím, než/ako sa jazdiť na snehu alebo na ľadu BEZ PUMPY v kabíne nákladného vozidla"- Neviem, kde je v tom pravda, no môj sused ani nie počúval o tej veci, naprirk tomu, že prácuje ako Šofér od 20 rokov.
