Yes, protecting your property in the UK is a no no! The way to do it is, wait until your house has been ransacked (try not to get in the way while this is happening, you could get hurt) then phone the police, who will show zero interest, but will (if in a good mood) provide you with a crime number that you can present to your insurance provider, (providing you have one) who will then do their damnedest to wriggle out of paying, pointing out some absurd clause in the small print. The small print by the way, is so long, and so small that you would need the patience of a saint, and the eyesight of a shithouse spider to bother reading a quarter of the way through.

My mate who was also picking his rifle up, said, "I wanted that number" John said "No problem, you are left handed" so he got 007L. I was on the field target circuit for a year and had a great time.

What a blast from the past! I used to go in Daniel's army surplus store about 25-30 years ago! He had a small store on Crawley high street, proper old school store, he used to have a target range in the back room to try the pistols out, his dad was a proper character, I used to buy my doc Martin dealer boots from him for £50 back in the day, he was also open to a bit of haggling which you couldn't do anywhere else, top bloke, used to love going in his store, he looks the same as he did back then, which is weird because he must of been mid 20's to 30 back then. The best gun shop I have ever been too. Dan is a great guy. Bought around 7 air rifles ranging from £400-£700 each. Probably about 9 co2 pistols ranging from £120-£220 each in the past 4 years. Just for target shooting. Always receive a discount from these guys. The have been on hand when a rifle was faulty and replaced it without any quibble. Never ever felt rushed or pressured while I've been there. There shop is stunning. Clean, tidy, well laid out. I suffer with PTSD and hyper vigilance sensitivity and target shooting really helps me keep carm, as you literally have to get the mind to focus and control your breathing etc. I also love collecting replica pistols, my favourite been the 1911 series. Paul is actually incorrect. The law of the land (the true law) stipulates that we all have not only the right to own firearms, but are lawfully allowed to use them to defend our "castle" it is known as the "castle doctrine" and lethal force is LEGAL if you are certain or can prove that your life is in danger. Paul needs to brush up on his knowledge of our laws.

I’ve been shooting all my life and from probably around seven years old and living on a farm I had plenty of land to shoot on and I’ve had shotguns, rifles in the past. But due to mobility problems I gave up the shotguns and rifles and went back to my love of airguns. My very first airgun was a webley Tracker in 22 which I still have to this day and that was over forty years ago. I have and been using Weihrauch’s for many years which I think are one the best makes on the market for spring powered owning a HW99s, Hw,95 in 22 then another Hw95 in 177. along with the HW 97 blue laminate in 22. So I really do like my Weihrauch’s. But for many years I’ve longed for what I would call the pinnacle of all springers in my opinion and that is the air arms pro sport but years ago they never did them with left handed stocks as I’m a lefty. But last year I finally got my dream springer the pro sport with walnut stock in 177 and it’s above and beyond any springer I’ve owned and is on another level completely. For years for vermin control I’ve used PCP’s and always shot 22 until I got a gun on loan in 177 and it was a complete game changer for my shooting and I’ve always used Weihrauch hw100s in kt the the s models and they are a proven gun not the most attractive but they work and work very well indeed and if your lucky like I was the walnut stock on mine is absolutely stunning and the sort of grain you would expect on a high end shotgun its that good. I’ve have a Sightmark wraith 2-16x28 fitted on it as I do so much pest control and is a great set up and costs less than £300 and with the 177 calibre my furthest shot to date was 62 yards, a shot I wouldn’t have even considered using a 22 but a shot I was comfortable taking for a good clean dispatch and not a shot I would have taken if I wasn’t confident with my abilities, every responsible shooter wants a good clean kill every time and never let an animal suffer no matter what they are. So please be respectful and responsible for anyone who reads this as mentioned these are not toys and are capable of taking someone’s life as they have before through people in the mindset that they are only an airgun, they are a weapon and must be treated as one. Great video my friend thoroughly enjoyed it.

Brilliant video, my wife walked in and said what you doing watching a cockney geezer 🙂. I`m a game shooter and have been for many years. I bought a Ghost 1.77 Cal with scope to replace my old BSA air-sporter 2.2 without scope to get rid of pesky vermin. My local shop was excellent in Lincolnshire. Paul you recommend the ghost highly and when I bought it I couldn`t miss a single beer can at 50mtrs nor could I miss the centre spot on a range. However when it came to vermin. I couldn`t kill hardly anything. So my shop politely said it must be me 😞! They gave me my money back and I continue to nobble the odd pigeon with my old gun but I want to try again. I think I`m going for the heavier harder hitting 2.2 in case the pellet on the 1.77 was just going through and the vermin was dying painfully later. Your video was fantastic and I think I might try the Wyrauch HW100 instead but I`m a patriot and would prefer to buy British but not at the expense of missing. Also do you have a scope you would recommend?

What noticed moving from firearms to piston air rifles you have to use the artillery method when shooting them, due to cylinder/ piston moves forward, and back when the air rifle shoots pellets. You do not have this problem with PCP air rifles, just springers.
@liverpoolscottish643011 ай бұрын
The Piston in a springer does NOT move backwards after firing. It moves forwards and stops. It doesn't rebound. The recoil felt is caused by the spring. PCP rifles are soulless and aren't challenging to shoot. I know so man people who moved from a springer to an PCP, got bored very quickly, and returned to the springer.

I've been into airguns since i was very young. Ive bought at least 30-40 air rifles and pistols directly from Dan, even in their old store location with our relationship spanning over 15 years. Best store and team ever.

I got stopped by the police, I was carrying my air rifle in its carry case to my local woods for some target practice. The officer was a nice guy. He looked at my air rifle and told me to have a good shoot. That was back in the 70s and I was 15. Ho, how times have changed.

In 1960's a friends dad had a winchester .22 rimfire and .22 shorts, hung on his pantry door and ammo in dresser, we shot it in farmers field many times, nothing ever said.

The only sport that I was on a team on while at school was target shooting. That was many years ago: we would practice with rimfire .22 rifles in an indoor range under the gym and then go to army ranges to shoot Lee Enfield.303s at longer ranges. Sadly,I don’t think this happens now.
@gavinwhite9743 Жыл бұрын
Totally mirrors by youth, those .303s could really kick into your shoulder. I also had the opportunity to shoot the SA80 when on Army camps.( all done through CCF)

Paul went to your favourite shop in Three Bridges, your gun shop, Surplusstore, all I can say is wow adults men’s real toy shop. Looking to buy a Rifle as I already Colt 1911 and Webley tempest . What a great shop and very informative and kind staff. Excellent thanks for recommending this as there is nothing like this in Peterborough. They gave me 5% off what I have bought 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼thank you awesome shop.

@8:09 - You said 'right across the UK...apart from Scotland'. You missed out Northern Ireland, also part of the UK, where EVERYTHING over 1 Joule needs a Firearms Certificate, just like a centrefire rifle. And at 8:34', Mr Thorpe said 'that's what happens when you give your gun rights up'. Here in UK we have not had 'gun rights' since the introduction of the Firearms Certificate system. I'll let you look that one up.

I started with a webley tempest at 13. Fell in love with it in seconds. At 16 bought a Crosman 1377. In my late 20s i bought my first co2, a walther p99 - amazing thing. That was it, for a long time i haven't had one, but this's inspired me to get back into it. Would love to see same video on pistols though matey. Cheers mate - from Sheffield, S. Yorks.
