This sport is intense, even if it doesn't look it. It's also a sport that lacks the frustration that can arise from having refs involved (in a vast majority of leagues). As for thinking that only "bros" or college guys play the sport, go to your local league or club teams. In my local league there are college guys yeah, but none of them are only "bros throwing a Frisbee", they are all in good shape and it is truly a technical game with much more skill than can be seen on the surface.

Brings back some great memories of the 70s and the University of Buffalo Frisbee Club. Minimal budget, no coach, arrange intercollegiate games on your own, provide your own transportation, etc. We had legendary freestylers Mark Schumacher and Mike Jackman who could fire a finger-flip the length of the field, and plenty of athletic speedsters able to make those astonishing rundown grabs.

Great video, but a lot of unnecessary layouts. The defensive ones are sick, but a couple of the offensive ones are totally gratuitous. Why would you lay out, and risk serious injury, when you can take two or three more steps and catch it cleanly? I've seen this happen a lot at high levels of ultimate, and I'm always sort of like "cool, but you should only lay out when you absolutely need to". I'd rather make a catch in full stride and stay on my feet than unnecessarily laying out and risking injury (I'd say about 75% of ultimate injuries come from laying out, even if you have really good form). Definitely some great plays on there though!

It's like... basketball, soccer, and football combined.

Basically one team starts with the frisbee. This person throws it to his teammates, and if a teammate catches it, he/she has to stand still and throw it again. You want to keep going this until you get past a certain point. However, if the frisbee gets intercepted in any way and someone on that team doesn't catch it, it automatically switches direction and the other team gets possession of the frisbee. Like William Kwiakowski said, it's a lot of fun and can get really intense

yeah they glide casually and curve like crazy. you need to predict when itll be low enough to catch, where its curving, and you also need to make a good throw. not to mention the people on the other team that are going for the disc just as much as you are, which makes it so competitive. also the fact that they ccan glide so casually makes them really fun to just have a catch with, more fun than a football or lacrosse catch in my opinion.

your team passes it up the field towards an end zone, and if it hits the ground or goes out, the other team picks it up where it landed (unless its out, then it goes back on the field) and they now try to go towards their endzone. this vid is pretty much showing the really long passes into the endzones for points. the play doesnt stop if a team drops it or if it gets intercepted, it just keeps going with new possession. its fast moving and alot of fun.
