I really like your videos: You present rare traps so I don't have to fall for them

What an elegantly unexpected opening. Nobody knows this variation, it's guaranteed to surprise.

I play a lot of over the board and tournament games, it would take a stockfish engine to even come close for white to play anything good. Human nature being what it is would probably find the worse moves in an uncertain and unknown variation. Modern chess, having existed for roughly 200 years has been a game of developing "book" moves in mainline variations. Against a Spanish game player, the retreat variation would be an unpleasant surprise indeed. Excellent and instructive video, as always. You seem to find, the most extraordinary openings and bring out the beautiful attacking play in the offering. Truly amazing!! And thank you!!

After OO, white’s rook pins the g7 pawn. So play Bh6.

Kaspa, you said leave our requests here. First off, I am a subscriber who 12:16 bought your Italian course in hopes that it would cover an issue ive been having with a guy i battle who uses the Ruy Lopez opening, but it didnt. It was the closest course you sold to Ruy Lopez. I watched the videos you posted covering Roy Lopez, but they all say white rarely trades its bishop for blacks knight. That is not the case with a guy i constantly battĺe, and I cant figure out how to successfully counter his attack. Anyways, dude starts off as white e4, e5, Kf3, Kc6, Bb5, then I usually push my pawn up to a6 to chase off his bishop. But he takes my knight on c6 with his bishop, instead of retreating it to a4, i recapture his bishop on c6 with my pawn on d7. Then he castles on the short side, preparing to take my d5 pawn with his knight on his next move. From there I am having an extremely hard time beating him. I dont know how to message you other than this comment section, so PLEASE let us know how to continue in this position, or if my moves up to that point are wrong.

Yes, all very well if playing blitz, rapid, etc...but at a higher level, people now tend to use computers for analysis and these so-called 'traps' are easily spotted! In correspondence chess, computers pick out trappy play straight away...so no good!

That's right. But at best, I propose you play it safe with Qg5, unlike Nf6. I did mention that.
