My TPRO M4 has about 1000 rounds still completely stock runs flawless with the exception of low recoil 1150 fps slugs won't cycle. I had a Holosun 510C on mine but it kept coming off while shooting, finally broke it. So I have a 507Comp with a scaler works leap mount 1.57 works amazing for what I use the gun for nice heads up like my AR's are. Takes the recoil good after 300 rounds using power shock slugs at 1600 fps and I can still use the ghost sites looking through the scaler works mount. I have an Olight on mine with a laser, it's held up like a champ to all 1000 rounds so far had it laying around so I just put it on for close display at night.

@GearAndGuns 9 ай бұрын
Must just be mine that has issues then. Does yours have that hang up when pushing shells into the tube? That 507 comp looks sweet, I looked into that leap mount as well. Can you still get a cheek weld with it? Im surprised that o light held up. Didn’t think of them to be very durable. I think anything below 1400 or 1600 fps won’t cycle well through it.
@Danko88
@Danko88 9 ай бұрын
@@GearAndGuns I dont know if I would call it a cheek weld but more like a chin / bottom lip weld. Thats how I use all my AR's with 2 inch mounts so it's natural and auto pilot mode. Mine cycles all types of bird shot, buck shot and slugs but not the low recoil slugs I am told its the wad used in the rounds. As it works fine with really cheep bird shot low fps fine. Took the M4 skeet shooting as some fun with my buddy I didn't do as good as his 28 inch shotgun but it was a blast tracking them on the optic.

Tax season … I’m debating heavily on either a the new Benelli M4 T-Pro or Beretta 130 Tactical Mod. 2. Any advice or things for consideration? I know the Beretta has the B-LINK system which is based on an elastic band which concerns me ..
@GearAndGuns
@GearAndGuns 9 ай бұрын
@@anonymoussurname I would recommend the new Beretta 1301 mod 2. It’s not as durable but besides that I’d say they perform about the same. The benelli might have slightly less recoil but it feels alot heavier, maybe it’s just the mods I put on it. The mod 2 also has an mlok section towards the end which is perfect for mounting lights. I don’t think the adjustable stock is a need. T pro has a little more mounting options stock with 3 picatinny rail pieces but the hand guard is shorter. The hand-guard fully covers parts of the benelli barrel while the berettas barrel top is exposed. The Beretta also has a little lighter trigger pull. The safety for the Beretta is more towards the barrel while the benelli is more towards the stock. A lot of people like the benelli m4 because it’s been battle proven and extremely durable. After putting some upgrades on it is very heavy and that’s the biggest downside for me. I do not own a Beretta but am looking into purchasing the mod 2 as well and probably will. I’m not sure if it’s any heavier then the original 1301 but I think the weight savings is the biggest plus atleast for me, about the 1301. The t pro is a little more expensive but you may be able to find them for about the same price. I’ve been finding it difficult to buy a pistol grip mod 2 beretta, trying it get it in ranger green if possible. Like I said I think there performance overall is pretty similar, kinda depends what your wanting to do to the gun. Biggest thing for me was the weight difference, adjustable stock (which I found out doesn’t really matter) and I was able to mount my red dot co witness with the iron sights without changing the rear iron. Personally I don’t think the average person needs the extreme durability of the benelli, but some people like it for peace of mind. I also have had problems with my t pro to where I had to send it in but I think I’m a special case for that. The beretta also has a mesa tactical stock with an adjustable cheek riser which is nice but some guy said he was having problems with his. You can’t go wrong buying either one, like I said I don’t own a 1301 but I think the weight savings is a huge plus. Oh and the 1301 cycles rounds faster, I don’t think that matters a ton because with the recoil you won’t really be able to shoot the gun as fast as it will let you because of having to get your sights back on target. The 1301 is also more plastic parts while the benelli is more metal, why it’s heavier. Sorry if that’s too much information, I hope this helps you. That was all the differences I found when researching to buy mine. If you want to save money, the standard 1301 is cheaper and still worth buying. Let me know if you have anymore questions, and let me know if you find anywhere to purchase a pistol grip 1301 mod 2.

Similar issue with the charging handle....Is it normal for the charging handle to free spin like yours? Does yours pop out whiling shooting and any fixes yet? Thanks
@GearAndGuns
@GearAndGuns 4 ай бұрын
@@aphonsavath It spins a little but has a resistance to the spin. It doesn’t spin on its own without force. Mine used to fly out when shooting but I haven’t been able to retest it yet. I sent it into benelli and they installed a new charging handle. It does have to be installed a certain way for it to stay in. The charging handle has to pass 2 detents for it to be fully seated. Try making sure your charging handle is all the way in. You can depress the bolt face back and forth and feel it click in twice. I have a couple videos on it or just find a video on how to install a benelli m4 charging handle.

We’re you having issues with the shell catch before installing the TTI bolt release? If you install the roll pin a little too deep it will also cause that issue
@GearAndGuns
@GearAndGuns 6 ай бұрын
I believe so. I did not change the roll pin when changing the bolt release, that tti bolt release was just a small rectangle that I screwed on and off from the outside the receiver. I found out that my shells were hitting the round retainer clip before going into the tube. There going to send me out a new round retainer clip so hopefully that fixes it. At that point I will be removing the roll pin for that. Thank you for the advice though!

@@GearAndGunsso is this a gen 2 benelli? Hard to tell with everything on it not sure if you updated the furniture on it. On the gen 1 you have to remove the shell catch and drill the hole for the bolt release. how hard would it be to remove everything when you want to clean your M4?
@GearAndGuns
@GearAndGuns 4 ай бұрын
I actually don’t have to remove anything that’s mounted on the hand guard. I just detach the sling qd, undo the barrel nut, and slide it off. Then you can clean it how you normally would. No attachments or add ons need to be removed for cleaning, just the normal parts to take it apart.M4s don’t really need cleaned a ton anyway because they’re made to run dirty. It is a little harder to slide the handguard off and put it back on because of the attachments and because of the briley hand guard design but it is doable without removing anything. It can be cleaned normally without any removal, just taking the m4 apart and putting back together is a little more difficult then the stock hand guard it comes with. No extra accessories on this gun need to be removed when cleaning. 👍🏼

One more thing, where did you get the flashlight from?
@GearAndGuns
@GearAndGuns 4 ай бұрын
@@hello-u2w I bought that from primary arms. It’s a modlite plhv2 18650 rifle light package. Don’t get that green one though, get one from modlite. That limited edition moss green isn’t dual fuel. The ones on modlites website are dual fuel which means it takes a rechargeable battery and cr123. If I would’ve done it again, I would’ve gotten the 18350 to save weight. The m4 is already really heavy, and I don’t think the extra battery life is necessary for a shotgun. I’d say the main benefit is that the 18650 pushes your flashlight lens out farther towards the end of the barrel so there’s less shadowing. I know the Midwest mlok isn’t very long, so that might be better for you, but because this handguard is so long, I would rather have less weight then length. Up to you, just have to weigh the pros and cons and see what’s important to you. For shotguns, I do think that the modlite phlv2 is the best shotgun light based off performance,reliability, and durability. High lumens, medium candelas, perfect combo. I made a video on that specific light if you’re interested.

Do you have to drill the gun to install the bolt release?
@GearAndGuns
@GearAndGuns 8 ай бұрын
For the t pro newer gen 2 model you do not. You can just use the screw provided. For the original m4 you have to drill a hole in the stock bolt release it comes with and then thread the hole for a screw to thread in there. Taran tactical says on there page what specific sizes you need to do it for their specific bolt release.

@GearAndGuns

@charlesaferg 8 ай бұрын
@@GearAndGuns Yeah, the twist to adjust is super annoying. I've never seen one locally that's why I asked. Thanks! Mine is just configured with an IWC scout mount and eotech up top. Only changes I've considered are adding a pressure pad and maybe a slightly shorter follower because I have a hard time finding ammo I can fit a full 7 rounds into the tube. Often tops out at 6. 🤷🏻‍♂️
@GearAndGuns
@GearAndGuns 8 ай бұрын
@@charlesaferg yeah the twist is annoying. I like this stock better forsure. Seems more durable as well. That’s a solid mount. Pressure pad is a valid upgrade if the stock one isn’t working for you. Not sure if a shorter follower would give you enough space because the spring actually sits inside of the follower. You’d gain maybe a 1/16 of an inch. Others recommended to slightly trim the spring and just put the cut end towards the retainer nut at the end of the tube. Horandy critical defense and Winchester super x OO buck have both worked for me but I had to order that ammo online. I’m able to get 7 rounds in with that ammo. Those are also both great buckshot rounds. I did not have to trim the spring to get 7 when using these rounds.

@@charlesaferg Hornady has 1 less pellet but is supposed to have a tighter grouping. I also think it is slightly smaller then super x. But the Horandy is expensive. Almost 2 dollars a round. I’d say it’s worth it to have for defense though. No problem. Glad to help.

No issues with my out the box 9 shot $700 Mossberg 930?

Mossberg 930 is good option especially for the money. I chose this because it’s the best combat shotgun in my opinion. Unfortunately I’ve been having a few issues with mine. There no excuses to have problems at this price point. Anymore I would recommend the beretta 1301 tactical mod 2, but it also just depends what your wanting to spend. @GearAndGuns
@GearAndGuns 4 ай бұрын
@@connormckay9429 yeah the benelli is mostly metal which makes the gun more durable but also a lot heavier. I will be doing a comparison between the benelli m4 and beretta 1301 as soon as I can, I’ve just been very busy. They both have their pros and cons but I would recommend the beretta 1301. Mainly because it’s less weight. I originally bought both of these for home defense, but I am going to be selling my benelli m4 to get a 300 blackout 9”. Overall I believe the sig mcx in a smaller configuration will be better than a 12 gauge shotgun for home defense for a lot of reasons. The benelli m4 recoils less, but that’s because it is significantly heavier. You can get the beretta 1301 mod 2 with the standard stock, buy the beretta kickoff which reduces felt recoil by 40% and then you would have the same felt recoil if not more then the benelli. I haven’t been able to get alot of videos out but will try to get them out asap.
