In this video I show you the amazing custom door screens I got for my Ram Promaster conversion van. These screens keep the misquitos out and the dogs in. I don't understand the value of having the screens on yr back door if you have windows on yr back door you cud open for ventilation. What am I missing? btw great video u did here. Professional.

Hey! Admittedly the slider screen is more useful, but the back one is also useful for two reasons. The back window openings are so tiny! only a 4 inch by 4 inch opening which provides very little venting so having both the back and side open makes it lovely and keeps it cool in there. Also, one of the things I loved about the van was being able to be in bed with both doors open for a full view of nature without the bugs. So if I had to choose only one, it would be the slider, but both are useful in their own way :)

This is a 159 Ram Promaster. I got a discount on the screens because they were changing the style a bit but I believe they are $800 a piece. You can check their website at rolef.ca

I would contact Rolef directly. I think I paid about $650 per screen but prices could have changed in 2+ years. Hope that helps!

Hi Kim and Kurt - I did not install them myself. I drove the van up to Canada (only 6 or so hours away for me) and had them installed. I do believe you *can* install them yourself though.

We are making our own screen door like this and was wondering about the magnetic closure. How does the magnetic closure work? Is one side a solid bar and the other a magnetic tape? Do both sides have (like 2" x 1/2") magnetic bars spaced evenly across from each other? Can you describe it? Thanks.

They are magnetic bars running all the way down both sides. Can't see inside so not exactly sure the actual product. To roll it up, there is a zipper right near the bar and the middle section rolls up. The magnetic strips stay straight against the van door and do not roll up. Hope that helps!

I'm not sure if you mean that it would exclusively be stationed between the cab and front, but it is a hard install so it couldn't be moved between the two. Honestly, there's probably a cheaper way to achieve a privacy screen. Those screens are an investment lol!

Don't the mosquitoes/black flies/no-see-ums get under the screen or in around the bottom especially where the zippers are?

Hi MJ M - I did not experience that issue at all :) The zippers are closed and only used for when you're rolling it up. The entrance and exit is through the magnetic part that seals.

Fortunately my dogs are incredibly respectful of all barriers so that’s not an issue for us. If it was, you could put a pet gate in front of it.

Yeah they aren't cheap. But it's definitely a "you get what you pay for" situation. The material is top quality and I can trust my dogs to stay in it. It's easy to get in and out. They are like the Cadillac of screens lol!

tewster2 total splurge item. But this is how nice they are: I sold that van last month. We’re getting a new van in the spring. My husband was against the screens when I bought them but when we decided on the new van he immediately said “you’re going back up to Quebec to get the slider screen right?” Lol. So they are nice. I also got a little bit of a deal on them. Anyways, definite splurge but really nice.

These screens are definitely not the economical way to do it - but they are a really quality product so it was worth every penny for me! Good luck with your screens! There's some great DIY videos out there for that.
