There was more to this. Dimash had been in China a while to participate in the show. Alone and not able to understand all the Chinese. Missed his friends and family. In this performance you can see his Dad hiding in the audience. At the end of the song...Dimash recognized him and was elated. It shows how tight he is with his family. Very endearing to watch. Thanks for your reaction. This was a sing by Vitas...who is famous Russian singer...known for his high octaves. Dimash went higher by 1 1/2 steps. Vitas was not amused and forbids him to sing it publîcally now.

Vitas wrote this song to showcase his high range. At the time Dimash sang this, Opera 2 was on all the radio stations in China. (and Russia). All the audience and competitors knew the song well - Vitas’ version. Dimash won first place for this round of the competition. 🎉❤🎉

The song is about a lonely Russian guy that builds his house in the wilderness. The high section is the wind crying out that keeps him company. Vitas originally sung the high part in steps to show off his skill and vocal range but after Dimash "showed him up" (I am sure he did not mean to make Vitas look bad🙄😪), Vitas rerecorded the song with his voice smoothly flowing just like Dimash's version but obviously not as high. Another great reaction Prada.💋👍 Many men are unable to hear that the notes are going up each time. Women appear to be more sensitive in the higher octaves and many feel a rush much like falling in love when Dimash sings in the higher octaves. 🥰🥰Much love from an old lady Dear🇨🇦

Prada, you should let it run to the end. This was from the Chinese talent show, Singer, & it's a Russian song. The man who did a fist bump at the end was Dimash's dad & Dimash didn't know he was there. When Dimash spotted him in the audience he was shocked & they had a lovely reunion. It was Dimash's first time being away from home for a long time & he was getting homesick, so his dad surprised him. After that brilliant performance, we hear Dimash ask his dad, "Did I sing well"!!!! Always make sure you watch to the end as you miss some lovely moments when you don't 😉 Thanks again 😊🙏💞

❗ LONELY PHONE CALLS HOME, alone for months in China with just an interpreter and coach, the family decided his Dad was flying over to check on him. The staff knowing he was sitting in secret in the audience to surprise him, the camera kept panning to him. Dimash never noticed him until smiling at the audience when he finished, he spotted his Dad, took the stage and stairs in 3 bounds, swinging him around in a bear hug, grinning ear to ear. His Dad never left.

Hi Argentina. I agree with you that Vitas forbade him to sing his "golden egg" after this performance, but Vitas is not German, he is Russian ;-) To me, Dimash sings this much better than Vitas, who I think sounds more metallic/robotic. The title of the song is "OPERA 2." It is a Vitas song. People started comparing Dimash and Vitas and usually the people vote for Dimash. So, what happened next? I learned that Vitas, through his legal team, has forbidden Dimash to sing it again. It is said that his reason for doing so is that Dimash and/or the SINGER PROGRAM did not seek his permission before Dimash sing it in the SINGER program. In the first place, it is the responsibility of the program, not the contestant, to seek permission from the owner of the song. Now, did Vitas sue the SINGER PROGRAM? Let us not be hypocritic here, it is a fact that vitas was being idolized by the Chinese fans before, in fact I read from some papers that he considered China as his second home. What happened to Vitas when the Chinese fans discovered Dimash? Everybody knows the answer.
