Thank you for your reaction. This was a dream come true for Dimash. He shared that at the age of 5, he had a VHS of a concert of Maestro Domingo and dreamed from that time to meet and work with him. I am sure he appreciated the opportunity to be a judge at the Virtuoso Contest, a program that features young classical artists, at the invitation of Maestro Domingo. They only had one rehearsal. Dimash was given an invitation to the Astana Opera, but turned it down because he did not want to be boxed into only one genre. Placido Domingo is a world renowned tenor and was part of the Three Tenors with Italian Luciano Pavarotti and fellow Spaniard José Carreras. Maestro Domingo is now 83 and is no longer able to hit the high tenor notes so he took the baritone part for this performance.

Nice reaction. Placido Domingo is a living legend, one of the original 3 Tenors back in the 1990’s. Dimash was classically trained and was offered a post at the Astana Opera when he was just out of university 8 years ago, but he turned it down to pursue his own musical direction. Dimash can sing anything and EVERYTHING! He only had a day or so to learn this aria and he was slightly under the weather, but you would never noticed. That’s why he is THE BEST!!😊❤

This is a duet with Plácido Domingo from George Bizet's Opera "The Pearl Fishers". It's about two friends who both love the same woman. But they decide that their friendship will not break because of this. In the opera world Plácido Domingo is a legend. He sang together with Luciano Pavarotti and Jose Carreras. I don't know if you've ever heard of „The Three Tenors“. Here maestro Plácido Domingo sings the baritone part whereas Dimash sings the tenor part. Placido Domingo will be 84 years old in January. He himself said that he could no longer sing the tenor. So Dimash should do this part. I'm not an opera expert, but nonetheless Placido is still a great opera singer. He and Dimash were judges in a talent-show for young classical talents in Budapest, Hungary. And in this show one of his biggest dreams came true with this duet. And before this duet, they only had one or two rehearsals together. And Dimash had had a bad cough for some time. Dimash has classical as well as contemporary vocal training. After college, he was offered a job at the Astana Opera House, which he turned down because he wanted to sing and write his own style of music. Greetings and love from Germany👋❤️

Hi Prada. Placido is the Number 1 TENOR today. He was part of 3 Tenors with Luciano Pavarotti &Jose Carrera. Dimash was part of jury where he met Placido. Do check some fancams of their meeting. Also, Dimash has classical training since he was 5 years old and he turned down an offer to be a Tenor in opera to pursue crossover music. Thank you 🤩

Placido Domingo, born Jan. 21, 1941 and Dimash, born May 24, 1994 singing this classic duet on December 10, 2023. So there's 53 years between them, let that sink in for a moment. Placido's voice is still wonderful at age 82 in this clip. Maestro Placido Domingo was of course 1 of the Three Tenors (with Luciano Pavarotti and Jose Carreras). Here's a clip of him from Dimash's year of birth 1994, when he was 53: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIOZdHyPnKp9mKc and an undated one kzbin.info/www/bejne/a16kd2SKabSYnq8 Puccini: Tosca, "E lucevan le stelle"

👉 The world stands still for this moment and everyone holds their breath. A singing teacher calls them the two musical titans...yes, yes, yes! This duet was Dimash's dream and it is coming true. What an honor for our beloved Dimash and a great joy for Maestro Domingo…. And I was bathed in tears of joy. I'm sooo happy. Dimash was asked to participate as a judge in the competition for young classical musicians... and then... he gave us dear ones this wonderful jewel. Maestro Domingo invited Dimash to sing the duet with him the day before. Dimash only had a short night to learn this song in French... and besides, Dimash had a cold with a cough. (You notice it more clearly in the second song at the end of the concert.) Dimash would never act recklessly towards his duet partners. With good manners and respect, he would never drown out Maestro Domingo (then still 82) with his voice. He even adapts to Maestro Domingo's vocal color. Dimash opens a new world to many Dears... the world of classical music. You should definitely watch the video (look at the end of the comment)... so many young, talented musicians and the sensitive assessment of the jurors... Great!!! ... and the legendary duet of Maestro Domingo and Dimash Qudaibergen! The duet is about two fisherman friends. They see a beautiful new priestess in the village and they both fall in love with her.The two friends vow not to let any woman come between them. * Plácido Domingo (*1941 Madrid/Spain) is already a legend today. He is a world-renowned, versatile artist and is considered one of the best and most influential singers in opera history, with more than 150 roles and over 4,000 performances celebrated by audiences on stages around the world. He sings tenor and baritone and was one of the three tenors with Carreras and Pavarotti in the 90s. Maestro Domingo is also a conductor and promoter of young talent, winner of 12 Grammy Awards and recipient of honorary degrees and awards for his humanitarian work. So, this duet was performed during their time, last year, at a program called Virtuosos, a program in Hungary he supports that finds, highlights, and promotes young classical talent, ending in a concert performance. Domingo invited Dimash to participate in the jury - judges - along with other artists. Hauser, a cellist, was among the jury along with Placido's son and opera singers. Anyway, there's a clip of them meeting with Placido telling Dimash that his grandson introduced him to Dimash. Dimash also tells Placido that he was one of his childhood idols, having listened to his music on VHS, then Placido suggesting a duet. Placido mentioned that Dimash would have to sing the tenor part because he sings more baritone now due to age. Placido was 82 at the time of this performance. He's 83 now. This was the song they performed, from what I understand with only a day or two rehearsal time. They did not sing the full song. The song is about two male friends who fall in love with the same woman but vow to keep their friendship by not committing to the love interest. Enjoyed your reaction....like your facial expressions while watching and listening. Thank you for reacting to this. Here's a Wikipedia link to the Pearl Fishers duet containing sections on context and lyrics. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Au_fond_du_temple_saint

When I hear Dimash perform like this, opera I look to his bio… at five years old the grandmother who raised him as is custom for the eldest child to be raised by them in his culture, finds out he has perfect pitch. Then, takes him to the academy of music at the university and enrolls him his first professional singing career starts at this age on stage and he wins his first piano concert too (also not forgetting his performance arts started at age 2). We just don’t have this kind of human in the world globally at large starting with a child prodigy which are out there but not with a partriarch that led him this way. So he stays on the music scene in competitions and performing live while continuing his education getting two major masters and enrolled in a master class for Broadway stage production. Prada I don’t know if you know this or not but one of dimashs vocal coaches would not let him sing falsetto. So even in Ave Maria the vocal coaches argue as to what techniques he is using and singing. They lean towards a mix voice. I think that’s head and falsetto. Don’t you dare think that every note or sound that comes from Dimashs lips is plotted out and not on the cuff as some think. Him knowing every technique invented to man then also being able to execute each one. No other classical musician can sing opera then turn around and sing contemporary or rock. It doesn’t work that way and the classical vocal coaches tell that or try to teach their students to do both. They sopranoes lose their chest voice if they do this. Dimash is the only opera singer that I know that is as versitale as this. Do you know what he did when it was discovered as a child adolestant that he had this range and access to the whistle register? He trained through adolescent keeping all his range baritone, soprano and whistle register. Teachers, vocal coaches don’t do that. They tell you don’t do that. But with Dimashs professional opera singing mother pop and producer father they did not listen and now we have this individual who might be close to having an 8 octave range at 30 years old. There are only about 5 people in current day history with 6 octave range and they are not Michael or Freddy who had 4 octaves who were both consider the best voices in history. Dimash had his mouth in an “O” position for over 3 minutes in Ave Maria for that vocalization. No, you’re not supposed to that because I knew from my mother who knew it from the physician that you could eat “lockjaw”. And all classical teacher train opera singers to use vibrato at the end of every phrase increasing in dynamics till the cut off of the note at the end, Dimash has perfect vibrato picking and choosing when to use it and when not to on mood or whim whatever inflection he wants to use. These are not the only rules he has broken in his life and currently, but people outside of and un the USA are still discovering him. You tube reactors are afraid to react to him because he’s “click bait”. Also, in the comments he’s lauded as the best vocalist. Some experienced vocalist and coaches have to clarify why he isn’t the best vocalist because “best” is subjective to what you like. Yet that does not qualify what is best in any medium or genre. It’s everything associated with the perimeters of that art or medium. Sports figure compete for milliseconds for the best in their fields. Nobody’s had an 8 octave range in history and we do know this because of the casytrattis and because sheet music has been around for centuries indicating the best musicians and such. 8 octaves is not enough to indicate best but it’s up there. Best is when all the vocal coaches on you tube come to you tube to critique and analyze Dimash then send their vocal students to learn then they analyze. Why is Dimash the best is because of performance in 16 languages, 8 octaves range, ability to sing antsy technique that exist mixing techniques, creating new genres, more than one, in his doctorate with all of this and not finished yet, singing with great gusto in every register, picking and choosing whatever genre he so desires and not burning out as an independent artist not letting producers use him up. He chose this path. No one has done these things. Prada pick one of your favorite songs … then find a favorite you tuber vocal coaches with 1 million subscribers then listen to his/ her reaction and analysis of that song then you’ll see them know dimashs worth. All I had to do the first time hearing was listen to Dimash sing “SOS” at the singer competition in China in 2017 and I knew dimashs worth and how good he really was. No one had ever appeared on the music scene in a competition exhibiting this skill. The song was popopera. So many genres and range within one song. Most audition are covers of known songs. This was not and nothing like the original. You’ll see from the tape of the show the producer became angry with Dimash for not listening to him with his changes he wanted to majpke to Dimashs performance. At 22 years old Dimash already had 20 years in the business of music and performance arts so all you heard and saw…the ambupience of the song Dimash did.

The song is basically about "bros before hos"...a fishermen and his apprentice years ago fall in love with a beautiful woman, but each decide not to chase her out of the love and respect they have for each other, then remember when they reunite years later. the song/opera is French I believe.

Dimash has been classically trained from age five, his background is opera and he has his degree in it, was offered a position with the Astana Opera Company but chose to do all genres of music - this performance was during a talent program to determine the top classical young musicians in Europe - Placido asked Dimash to sing with him and he had two days to learn it - has performed with some of the top opera singers in Russia, China, and Europe- it is the same song/music - it’s classical music- opera

I think this helps to understand Dimash normally doesn't do Opera, this is opera and he doesn't do it normally, he chose not to accept a position with Khazakstans Opera because he wanted to do everything literally. While he does use classical techniques, hearing people say he is an opera singer in every song drives me bananas as they clearly do not know what Opera is and they box him in as opera in their own minds. I don't like Opera either, but I love Dimashes music.

Placido and Dimash took two parts, the beginning and the end of the song and sandwiched them together as those were the bits that were the most interesting, also because it would have been much too long for the performance that they wanted to do. So if you look up the full lyrics of the duet, it will have a middle part that makes no sense to you. The story of the opera was that two young men (pearl fishers) who were best buddies fell in love at first sight with a beautiful unattainable woman (a temple priestess) and became jealous rivals. They met again later in life and vowed never to let the love of a woman come between them again. They promised to remain friends until the ends of their lives.

You are correct… this is 100% opera sh*t and something I only listened to because of Dimash. I am not an opera fan. We are blessed because Dimash turned down a position in an Opera House. He didn’t want to be limited to opera with little, if any, ability to improvise. Now we experience his sheer genius in combining genres. It may be hundreds of years until another man like Dimash comes into this world. Huge THANKS to you for exploring Dimash and honestly reacting. We are lucky to have you as a reactor. You are a wonderful man. Appreciate you. ❤ ❤❤from grandma of 5 in Ohio. Dimash was a new music genre to me and shocked at how quickly captivated me.
