I think this is a game changer! Even slitting the square pad to fit the applicator snug! However my question would be how much product is being used between the two methods? Yes I am worried about the round microfiber pad absorbing more product. Basically I've been thinking of doing this as well then I found your video... So maybe swede pad on flat surfaces, hood, roof, trunk. Then microfiber round pad on everything else???

@MirandaDetailing

Each coating has its flash time, when the coating starts to dissipate or "flash" its time to remove the residual residue. It depending on ambient temps and the type of coating. but its pretty easy to determine when you start using them. We use the yellow Kirkland towels all the time.

Miranda Detailing , finished Saturday, 2 coats CQuartz 3.0 and couple applications of Reload over 48 hours. I give myself a 80%on work. My polish work on a black car was lacking for sure. Never looked as good as everyone’s videos to me. End product though the car looks really amazing. I took video, of it. It definitely looks like liquid black on it. My wife and dad think it looks incredible. It might be me just be overly critical. Think I needed a product with a little more cut like 3D One instead of just the perfect finish. Took me probably 8 hours all done. Wife’s driving my daughters car all week to let truly cure for 7 days

How can you tell how much product to apply to the applicator pad so that you strike the balance between not running out early and not having too much left over?
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing 3 жыл бұрын
Well I've learned over time to gauge it by eye. I would rather have plenty of left over than not enough. I just make sure to apply about 10 drops per section, that seems to be plenty to spread in a 2x2 or 3x3 area and have plenty to work around the vehicle, Can typically use about 15-20ml per car.

I hear that a lot but I have never experienced it. I always watch very closely how much o am applying and I always have extra left over in my bottle. @@MirandaDetailing thanks so much! Btw i’m very new to the detailing world, i’d like some advice and a few questions 1. I cant differentiate which pad is used for waxing and for polishing, definitely compounding is the flat soft ones right? 2. If we use sand paper to polish a car headlight, do we need to use just 2 different grits or 3? Since some people say 600 and 1500 is enough. But there’s someone who recommended to use 3000 after 1500 basically 3x . So i’m abit confused here. 3. When u wash a car, u need at least 2 buckets. Is the dust trapper necessary? 4. can coating chemical for the car’s body, be used for the windshield, side glass, side mirror, headlight glass and the whole body of the car? Or do they have their own coating chemicals? 5. Final question is what’s a dual action polishing machine? Kindly help me advice bro 🙏 It will be so helpful
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing 3 жыл бұрын
Wow that's a lot of questions...I'll try my best to answer what I can. But I do encourage that you do more research on our channel, we have lots of videos that explain more. 1. Waxing pads are always soft, usually black or red pads. Compounding pads are usually yellow or orange, and stiffer. 2. For headlights it all depends on how bad they are. Most times we use a 1500 and 3000 grit and thats all that may be needed. sometimes if the headlights aren't that bad I just use 2500 grit and then compound and polish them and they come out great. So the sand paper grit depends on how bad the headlights are. 3. the 2 bucket method is not always needed. we just use one rinse bucket, but our pre-wash and wash method is effective so we don't need a soap bucket, the grit guard is a good idea to keep the dirt locked to the bottom of the bucket and not just floating around. 4. They do make Ceramic coatings for glass, coatings for paint should only be applied to the paint. they also make coatings for textured black/grey plastics. 5. search Dual Action Polisher on KZbin and you will see lots of videos explaining that.
