How are you guys doing?
I know this is quite a common question and I wonder how come I never thought about doing a video on this subject so far ?
What is the best way to apply your foundation? What is YOUR favorite way to apply your foundation ? Is it a brush, with your fingers or you prefer the good old Beauty Blender sponge?
I’m sharing my opinion on this subject and I hope this video was useful !

I prefer to make dots of fondation with a finger, spred fondation with a brush and on the end, to finish all process, use a beauty blender.. and I have a feel that as much as I blend my skin with a blender final result is more beautiful and more like 'I have natural beautuful skin face' 🌸☀️😘

Thank you Andrea! For me a damped sponge gives the sheerest coverage and that’s what I like! First I use just one pump of foundation and even often sheer it with some moisturizer. Plus, as wearing a really good layer of sunscreen everyday, I think the sponge is the best tool to prevent from moving the sunscreen. And for me the finish is the most natural and evened, especially as I have to apply foundation over sunscreen.

I have tried all 3 techniques over the years, and I have found that I get my best look with the brush. When in a hurry I will use fingers. Helpful video. Thanks!

I agree it depends on the foundation which method works best. I usually choose a brush or fingers. I have realized that a dry beauty blender works really well if you want a lot of coverage using a mineral powder foundation. Thank you for the wonderful video and for putting in the effort to make these awesome videos!

I agree with you about using the beauty blender on very mature skin. I like to use a brush and work with very think layers of foundation. At the end, I might use a sponge gently all over my face to ensure that there is no extra foundation anywhere and that works quite well.

It depends on the foundation for me. With some--especially foundation sticks-- I use a Beauty Blender but with creamier ones, I can use my fingers with some and a brush with some liquidy foundations, like with my new Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation, which I positively LOVE.

I use mostly sponges, but with stick foundations I have got to use flat kabuki brushes. Can't spread the stick foundation otherwise. I hate applying my foundation with fingers...ugh, no. Great video :) Very helpful

I actually like to apply it by my fingers cz as you said it's the most hygienic way, it's easy, it's natural, and faster cz I mix it with suncream

I have tried the 3 ways on me and the best way I feel is how the sponge applies foundation (I use the Real Techniques reasonably priced blender vs $20 beauty blender!!).. I wish blenders didn’t soak up so much product as much as we can see on the surface and while cleaning them!! Brush leaves a streaky effect.. fingers help spread foundation well but don’t seem to give the best result. I love the finish I get with the blender :) :)

spusht try the Juno Co. Velvet sponges!!! i LOVE THEM they don’t soak up much product and I actually find myself using less product. they’re the same price as the real technique one!

Oh! So greatfull to have the answer of my question. I used only my fingers to apply my fondation during decades! Now, since 3 months, i am using a beauty blender... but i am using two pumps of fondation and not one... and i am not purchasing my fondation on drugstores. Quiet expansive ! So i am using again my fingers, but use the beauty blender for the final touch! No demarcation and a nice complexion. Tried once only a brush: so hard. Don’t like it. Very instructive. I love my fingers and the sponge. The brush is annoying cause I have to wash it everyday, it begins to lose its hairs while I apply the foundation and, I'm 46, leaves too much product on my skin. Thank you. 😘❤️

Thank you, Andreea! Could you please make a video on how to apply the contouring powder? I use the Kat Von D powder, but it comes out like a straight line. And when I try to blend it so that it becomes more natural, then the contouring effect is lost, and it seems like a blush.

I think I got why!! I have one KAT VonD 10 (lock-it edge foundation brush) that is too dense and I´ve tried to use with Dior Backstage, but doesn´t work well, as you said problably would be better with compact one...

You covered the subject of using 3 ways of application in this video, but I never understand when to use a Flat Foundation brush as I have seen in so many videos, artists using flat brush to apply the foundation and then use a damp blender sponge to build the product or exactly what , I don't get it . Like you mentioned you prefer using slightly round buffing brush instead of a flat top, cab you tell me why a flat foundation brush is used?

From UK, but always Italian!! I should have watched this video yesterday. I bought a blender and a brush yesterday because I'm spending too much time trying to perfect the foundation and concealer..(dark circles and fine creapiness 😧) I have used my fingers all my life but finding it more difficult lately to get a good finish. I use Shiseido Synchro Skin, which spreads really easily, and Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, lately a bit dryer, on my skin lately? I am 61, with more dry skin now than in my youth when it was a combination. I have always used fingers, but I thought maybe should try a different method. I like a natural look but a bit of coverage. Any suggestion? Can you suggest a foundation for my age? Not too pricey.. Thank you Andrea you are so good at what you do and remarkably beautiful!!!! 😘😘
