BEST way to breed OP Dinos! (In Depth Guide!)

I've had a lot of questions on this, and some of the videos i've watched, just really didn't explain how to do it properly. So taking our mega tribe experience, I wanted to show you how to properly breed like a mega tribe!

You have to manually input them. On the extract tab you input the stat values click on extract. It will then calculate the levels put to each stat.

There is a breeding plan tab you can use too. Might be easier to use if you have a lot of tames to look at. Follows the same principals he went over. If you imprint on a dino you want to add to the library dont forget to add the imprint % on extractor page.

So on console it's still the same basic principle, and technically you don't "need" the stat number, you can just base it on the highest hp you have for example. Just write them down so you know which one has the highest stat, and use the same concept.

Im breeding rexes on an Official PvE on xbox, because i enjoy it and try to make boss fights easier. Im doing it for 10 months now and have stacked way over 20 melee and over 20 hp muts. But i do it a bit differently with the female part. I have only bred females from the same parent with exact same stats, so all of them are lvl 301. So the babys will all come out at lvl 301 except if it got a mut which brought it up to lvl 303. Same in the next generation, its either 301 or 303 base or 305 with a mut. That way i dont need to look into every single baby and just look for the +2 higher level. Of course it was a bit annoying to raise them all, but you slowly get there. Im mostly doing this alone with just a little bit help of the tribe here and there, but i managed to bred together 228 female rexes (its a lagfest)

The only problem with that is how long it takes. You will always need a 0/0 parent, because when you breed 2 parents with 20+ mutations, you can no longer get mutations. Thus, the best way to do it is with a male breeder, and a ton of 0/0 females.. Fastest way to stack those muts.

You can use a mutator to change the gender of a Dino so If you get prefect stats on the female you can just make it a male with like 10 element I think

You did a great job with this. One of the best I've seen for sure! Although a few spots you forgot to change the screen so we can't see what you are talking about. Also it kinda gets muddy toward the end with mutations. So if you end up with 20 on paternal side how can you get more if the max is 20 period...? Would love to see a mutations one by you with the same kind of detail and labeling as the initial combining of stats. Especially showing how to tell exactly what the mutation is. Perhaps you know more about the pedigree tab in ark breeder as well. Thanks in advance for any of this you help with or do videos on!

You can go over 20/20, but only on one side. If you get over 20/20 on both sides no mutations will further happen on the baby.

It is a tiny bit late but if you use 0/0 females that are like level 25 won’t it be very very rare for you to get the correct stats and even more rare for a mutation to get on the right stats not the level 25

No, the level doesn't matter when you're just breeding for mutations. Because lets say you have a level 200 with 50 points in hp, or a level 25 with 2 points in HP. The dad with 75 points in HP still has the exact same chance to pass on the 75 points and give a mutation. Mothers stats literally wont matter.

Hey Team! - First, I'll apologize in advance for the bad transitions. This was the first time i've tried to put them in a video, there's a cccccccouple messed up ones. Otherwise, I hope this vid helps you understand the breeding a bit better. It was a long one, but I really wanted to go into detail here, and even then forgot a few things. 1. Best meat farming spots - Isle/Rag/Center (go to the swamp). Key here is snakes/racers. 2. Berry farming spots - Rag (there's a yellow flower spot just north of green obi on the west side of the river. with instant respawn/slot caps). Isle - Cow Tails in the swamp (or just south of the ice cave on the muddy river), both spots have instant respawn if you de-render. Hope it helps! -Phae

I like how in depth you go in this video. I breed animals irl mainly fish. Selectively breeding creatures is such a big part of this game and is why I enjoy ark so much. I really enjoyed the video, but think renaming new dinos the names of old dinos you kill risky. Breeding stats can get confusing and culling old males and renaming new ones after the originals sounds like it might just add further to the confusion. You killed M1 so many times and replaced him with new offspring also named M1's and it probably would just be simpler to remove M1 from the picture entirely and just name the new male something different. Many times when breeding in this game I've accidentally culled important dinos to make room and accidentally hindered my progress by losing stats. Usually it's because my tames are named similar things and it's late at night when I'm sleep deprived. Btw you kept forgetting to switch the screens, no hate but it was like 5 times. When you hatched the purple mutant nobody could see it

Yes, there are ways. If you mate a 20+/20 dino with another dino that has 0/20, you will get a baby that has 0/20 on one side. :) Enjoy!

You can still get beyond 20/20 just the rate drops to between 3-4% that's why you want multiple females to breed with more eggs faster.

get a perfect male by combining single highest stats, then mate the perfect male with females with no mutations to get mutated males. keep the females replace the males to stack mutations and have a super dino. idk im pretty confused.

I usually have the maximum difficulty tab checked. It's not too difficult to find high levels. Up to 150, and I'm not sure the initial difficult affects it though.

One thing I've noticed in every guide is everyone glosses over taming. I'm bouta make my own channel and correct this. I challenge anyone to find a video explaining exactly how many dinos you need to tame in order to get the best stats. They just say, do what is best for you. Then they go super in depth on how to breed perfectly. Apparently they don't think going in depth on the taming side is important. Which it is. Without the perfect stats, you're wasting your time trying to perfectly breed.

I produced a level 236 vulture from level 217 and 202 parents, with ZERO mutations. How is this possible? Considering I had just bred up a base Rex army from 150 parents, with the babies all being 225, or 227 with a mutation, where did this level boost come from, and how can I capitalize on it? And could I introduce lower level Rexes into the breeding pool if they have better health/damage than all my Rexes (at least for their level)?

Advance493 it takes the highest level stat from both parents. So if one had 34 levels into HP higher than the other, you would have gained those extra levels as an example

you prolly figured it out, but you want a perfect male and a perfect female. these two dinos have the exact same stats, and you get them by breeding dinos you tamed until you have two that are the same. then you breed the perfect male and perfect female until you notice that the offspring is 2 levels higher than the parents. this means a mutation has happened. you can compare the stats of the child to the parents, and tell what stat you got the mutation on. im pretty sure syntac has a vid on it

For the mutation breeding, why are you using just some tamed females? Once you have your base mating pair with all stats breed together, they have to be 0/0, then you just breed them for tons of 0/0 females, 100+ females. Then you selectively breed for only one stat to mutate. On the first generation is doesn't really matters which stat mutates but after that you only want the same stat to increase via mutation, that already has a mutation. If the offspring with the correct mutation is a female, you breed it with your base 0/0 male until you get the mutation carried over to a male, which becomes the new mate for your tons of females. If you go for more than one stat to mutate you need to keep multiple bloodlines. This is important so you get full use of the mutation counter. If the males hits 20/20 you breed them together to combine the mutated stats. This way you can get 40 mutations in every stat. The reason you should use your 0/0 base pair is, you probably dont want to mutate all stats and you want to combine before the males hit 20/20, so you can use your dinos before they are maxed out. This is way easier, if all the breeders have the same stats, except for the mutated ones. Because you pretty much repeating the very tedious first step of combining stats in one offspring.

Ex; the Females are at 1H, 1S,1M.. best stats (base stats)you want are 5H,5S,5M.. you get the line all females to 5H,5S,5M and best Male to 5H,5S,5M 0-0 mutations can you just breed all of them after that for mutations?

48 points in melee with 511 damage? I have one with 52 points in melee and is only 360. Is this boosted stats or is PC and Console patches affecting the stat difference due to dino tweaks? I used dododex for my stat distribution for my wild 150 tame.

Dodo dex is the problem. It highly over exaggerates stats. So 51 points in dododex, is more likely only 40 points in reality. However, I was in single player, it may have been skewed a little, though I'm pretty sure it was set to official rates.

Yup, Dododex is only useful for measuring the stats of a dino after you've knocked it out and before you've tamed it; ASM is the only way to extract the breeding values after they wake up.

This was before they added the breeding option. Back in the day you had to enable wandering to get them to mate. Everything else is the same.

So smart breeder actually still pulls out only the base stats. Even after it's been leveled, it;ll only show what it was originally started with.

That transition to mutations is most confusing. If u had mutation male but not all the stats you breed that with perfect female to try and get perfect male with the mutation right? And breeding that with all the other females but the other females don’t have any good stats so what would the success chance for the baby to get all perfect stats was it 55% or 70% to get high stats from male? If baby comes out with all perfect stats wouldn’t it still be half the level of that the male if u breed it with lvl 1 female making it lower stats all round?

That was quite informative. Time just flew! One question though: Does it matter, if you feed the maturing dinos raw or cooked meat? The latter is certainly far more convenient, since cooked meat/fish stacks better and doesn't decay as fast. Really takes the edge of the meat grind a fair bit. But is it detrimental to the maturation process in any way? I ask, because I found conflicting advice on that.

Highest possible. You'll want to get good stats to start.

For certain things you can be flexible. Deino for example is harder to get that high because you dont get additional taming levels. 30 would be a good choice for them. For flyers, closer to 50.

is there a lvl limit for dinos to have, i think i read something of 450 somewhere. if that is the case it would make sense to tame a male lvl1 to get 0 wasted points stats onto the breeders to create the base before you only gamble on mutations. assuming you have infinite time this allows you to have more mutations in the best stats until your breeds reach max lvl.

Late reply but still relevant so here's my answer: 450 is level cap on official sercers AFAIK. If you have a dino over that, it will get wiped on server restart. Otherwise you can have higher levels on unofficial or your own local servers (including SP), if you for example increase difficulty to 10 (so with offset 1.0, you can get 300 lvl dinos which makes breaking the 450 barrier trivial with some basic breeding). But on official (or any other similar server) you might want to breed-out SPD to squeeze in other useful stats (though getting such perfect stats will be a chore).

Could you in principal do the same thing with a male being 00 and then when you have the statue on for both sides and then combine the thousands of mutations for both sides .

mike avery yes. But the problem is that a female can only mate with one male. So while you could do it with a 0/0 male, it would take much longer

@@Phaedread right I understand it would take longer but if you had to separate braiding styles could you in the end mix it and get better results like that and bypass the 20/20 because I know on the zero side on the mother you can go all the way up as far as you want as long as you don't put any points into the zero in the front and go to 900 if you want but if you do the opposite with a father and then when you get a bunch of stats on the other side of the coin can you then breed those two together and get 900 900 or so on where does it only choose 20 for one side of the stat and 900 for the other stat. I'm pretty sure it works because I just got a velonasaur for my breeder and it has 910 from the father side mutations + 1 300 on the mother side for mutations.

I'm kind of new to breeding, and I may have missed it or something (I didn't have time to watch the full video). If you get a female with a mutation, why do you just keep breeding the ones without that mutation instead of breeding it only?

Because you can breed for stats on matrilineal and patrilineal but if you do you want to breed them separately. Because when you mix matrilineal and patrilineal with mutations it gets really hard and confusing to know which side the mutation came from. But all the top breeders only stack one Stat on one side. I know it sounds good on paper or in your head but when you stack say melee mutations on both sides how are you going to stack health? Because for bosses especially health is equally important. So one line of nothing but melee on dad's side male's and another male line with health. Because you can stack a max of 253 or 254 into a single Stat. If you want to understand him better get awesome spyglass mod and use it in single player. Experience is the best teacher.

I have been playing ark since beta release and I have never seen or hear of a dino tamed with any where near 500melee. I can almost guarantee that single payer is skewing your stats. Also its impossible to tame a normal dino at lvl 225, 224 is the max.

Many things have been changed including breeding speed to make this video easier to understand and record. Regardless, stats weren’t one of those things and all dinos were a level 150 force tame command. Not actually tamed.

Nonetheless not the point of the video and I get that ;) Does it matter if the females are 0/0 or got 19 mutations total? They just need to be under 20 right?

Nah bro. I tamed a 180 Tek Raptor came out 522% on FUCKING TAME! So it is possible much more possible with Tek Dinos. I have seen 450% on Griffin.
