Actually you shouldn't do 1 on and 1 off. Too much recovery time and too much work. If not the 30 as Brix said, do 15 hard then rest 30. This way you stay being able to run and not burn out or not cause your body to burn less fat than you are working for

HIIT actually works, and it works FAST. I started exercising 3 months ago. I couldn't even sprint at 12. My highest speed was 9. I used to run for about 30 second and rest for two minutes. Now I do 13-13.5 for a whole minute, rest for a minute and repeat (4 days a week). My metabolism is on FIRE :) You can really improve and boost your endurance the more you do this.

I lost 15 pounds in a little over 3 months with 30-45 min HIIT treadmill workouts 3x a week (1 min, 30 sec @7mph and 30 seconds rest @4mph), I’ve also been doing intermittent fasting from 8pm-12 noon, only eating a healthy lunch and dinner, coffee and plenty of water. I feel great 👍🏼 I love interval runs, it really does work! Just be patient, aim for 2-3 workouts a week and do your best to eat clean! I allowed myself a cheat meal ( just one meal w/o going overboard, obv. lol) on the weekend, which gave me something to look forward to and made me happy! LOL.

I saw this video and began doing this HIIT workout for my weight loss journey and I love it! I started at 12 sets 3 incline 6.5 speed over a week ago and for the last 3 days I've done 5 sets at 3incline 6.5sp then bump it up 5 sets of 3.5 incline 7sp then 5 sets 4incline 7.5sp and 5 sets 4.5 incline 8sp. 20 sets in under 25 minutes, rest 30 secs and 1 min on my last set. I've lost 4 lbs this week along with eating better and reducing my calories. So thanks for this video, it's made my workouts more fun and pushes me pass my limit which feels so good.

Great video Brix Fitness-thankyou.After jogging every second day for at least an hour over two months progress was slow. After 3 weeks (every second day )of HIIT the results were amazing.I lost at least double the weight doing HIIt than jogging in (no joke) in only a third of the time.My Hiit=incline-4.Warm up 5mins(speed6).Intervals 1min (speed14)then 1min (speed 6)until 20 minute mark and then 5min warm down(speed 6).I am 52 years old.Good luck everyone

Ive been only doing elyptical for cardio 30 mins everyday for 3 months and have not seen much progress. Definitely going start doing this tomorrow. I do HIIT in swimming pool that helps me to loose weight quick and get in shape. It protects my joints, no aches after workout, increased my lung capacity, reduced my resting heart rate after a year, builds my stamina, increase my apetite and gives me good sleep all the time. HIIT at THAT intensity is very effective at blasting fat. However, it greatly increases chances of injury. I suggest very gradually building to activities with that intensity. I begin all my "newbies" with steady state. After their 6 weeks of consistency (hopefully), I then intro. them to HIIT.

I am a good runner and have been slogging my guts out literally for years and years running constantly. I have clocked up many 10K runs and 6.5K runs but still the weight doesn't seem to shift. I have been told that the running I have been doing supresses my testosterone and therefore inhibits my ability to burn fat and lose weight.. I will give this a go and hope it works. I injured both my calves recently doing just that because I was way to overweight. The recovery took about 4 months. I am slowly integrating fitness back in and wanted to ask a question; what do you think of elliptical HIIT training ? Yeap, elliptical is best for your current situation. If i were you, i would move onto the stairmaster little by little. I know from experience, Currently I do 2 days of HIIT stairmaster and 3 days of weights. The results have been great! anyways, work on the elliptical and then move towards the stairmaster mill. There is a reason why people hate that machine ,and why they tend to be empty and not being use most of the time. XD, because they work and are a great "beast" to conquer every workout.

i joined gym just to loose belly fat. long story short i walk at speed 6 for a minute and then run for a minute at speed 12. it helps me burn 100 cal. in less than 10 minutes and sometimes i do push myself if i can like run 2 minutes continuously and so. one time i thought to give it a try and run full speed so it was set on 20 when i really pushed my self and i stepped of the treadmill successfully but then i pictured it in my brain as i have seen many people just like this guy stepping on a treadmill while its on. mine was speed 20 and i just stepped on it lol. well, i bumped my head, my knees, was half naked since my lower come down and was on floor in only my boxers :-) all i wanna say it be careful and yes its the best way to loose fat or burn. all my friends and family members watch me now and say seems like you are sick or something. you lost weight. what happened.. hahahaha. i love hearing it. i lost my belly fat in 3 months. oh yeah. most important. Diet is one thing you need to care about. 70% to 90% depends on your diet. i eat 2 apples and a pomegranate before hitting gym or sometimes brown bread with peanut butter (no roti/chapati/ food etc.) and after gym i wait for about 45 minutes and then consume either same fruits otherwise (Kellogg's Muesli Nuts Delight) or mausami juice (Citrus juice). nothing else. drink 3-5 litre of warm water in a day if possible otherwise room temperature is fine too. make a habit of drinking luke warm water before eating anything (half an hr earlier and later as well). and yes > no chocolates, candies, pastries, chips, burgers, pizza etc. if you really feel like eating once in a while go for it but make it limited and make sure to consume warm water before and after whatever you wanna eat. dinner must be consumed before 7pm or not after 8. no exercise is required to loose fat, belly fat except running on treadmill. i run 20-30 minutes on treadmill daily and bur cal. anywhere between 230-300. you can also eat eggs but not the yellow part. boiling is the best way. and yes another option would be just living on salad if you can. like some weeks i eat only cucumber, tomatoes, onions, cabbage, spinach, beetroot, cucumis. 3 times a day. i bet you will loose belly fat in 3 weeks. gone byebye tata. results will be visible in first 15 days. try it and thank me later. no other exercise is required. most important : this is all good for nothing if you are gonn break these rules at later date. remember, making money is easy but keeping it is hard. same way loosing weight is difficult but not impossible but staying in shape is very hard since our bodies are so used to machines. we don't walk anymore. bikes and cars are there. we don't use stairs , elevators are there. air is not fresh anymore. fake veggies and fake oils ingredients we use to make or prep food. Only you can help your self..........

eggs really aint bad as its healthy fat. However when trying to lose weight and belly fat, you must make sure 1) Be at a deficit by 300 (ideal at first) and then gradually move to deficit of 500 from your maintainence. Going below that could result to loss of muscle mass. Also, please do ensure you get in your micronutrients too while you can rather than just have carbs. Remember dieting is more of a lifestyle rather than just a "diet", so in order to maintain your strength and physique, try to have good amount of protein (or even better if you can go to positive nitrogen balance if you want a lean look). Also, please dont do HIIT everyday else your joints gonna suffer and result to crazy injuries. Ideal HIIT training should be 2-3 times a week with 24hr rest in between. for instanse monday (HIIT) then tuesday would be my relax day in terms of cardio but would still do weightraining (if that makes sense). so i would continue my routine but without cardio if i have done that already the day before. if you are doing weight training along with HIIT in your weekly routine in the gym, avoid doing hiit and legs on the same day please, have separate days for legs and hiit. 👍🏻💪

I do 14-15 speed with an incline of just 2 and do 6 sets of 30 seconds on and 30 seconds at lower speed of 9......Then jump on the bike and do the same at level 6-8 for 30 seconds reducing speed and level to 2 for 30 seconds rest. This take roughly 15 minutes to complete as your jumping through levels and machine's but it really gives an intense workout. This one looks tough though might give it a try to mix things up

Devil Doc. So for HIIT on the treadmill, I like to normally set it at a 1:2 work to rest interval lengths. In other words, your rest should be twice as long as your work interval, especially at high intensity. 20 sec to 40 sec sounds good to me! In terms of your incline, hey if it works for you and you don't find yourself getting premature exhaustion, then keep doing what you're doing. I always recommend HIIT over steady-state cardio to everybody.

Good effort but sprint and 3 miles aren’t compatible, you should up the speed to over 10mph and minimum time of 30 second , build up to a minute, once the 1 minute x 10 sets is easy you up the speed to 11 and go back down to 30 seconds a set

I do mine 45-50 seconds sprint and 1 minute 10 seconds rest on a slow walking speed like 4mph. Started with 10 sprints and have increased to 15. Always feel like I can't do it anymore at about the 25-30 second sprint mark, but I always finish strong.

if you want to eat within 30 minutes of your workout, go with an easily digestible meal that has healthy carbs & protein (ex. oatmeal with 20g of whey protein mixed and fruit added ontop). and water shouldn't be a problem, as long as you don't chug a ton of it. want to be hydrated anyway.

Good info...the uphill or incline sprinting helps with injuries and aids those who don't really have any experience from sprinting in sports......as you already know..steady state cardio is more or less for the uninformed...sprinting..sled pushes..weighted carries...kettlebell swings. ....get you there quicker and maintain strength and lean gains as well as not killing test levels and kinda sparing the joints!!

I started doing this workout at a 9 incline on 12 speed, 10 sets of 30 seconds with 1 min rest in between sets. 3 months later I’m now running at 9 incline and 16.5 speed for 10 sets of 30 seconds, with 45 seconds rest in between sets. This workout has honestly boosted my metabolism through the roof and I’ve preserved my muscle whilst getting shredded as. My heart rate has also reduced to 49 BPM :)

It will be impossible to sustain your energy over 10 sets if youre going the FASTEST you can. I would recommend you run at 85% of your max speed for effective results and also to prevent burnout. At 85% energy exertion you will be absolutely stuffed by the last set.

Quick question, because I'm confused/shocked regarding the speed o.O So you're sprinting at a 12 MILES/hour pace? That's 19,3 KM/hour - correct? Like...how!? That's a pace of 3 min/km. Or am I misunderstanding something?

I can always rely on high intensity incline sprinting when I gain extra lbs and need to shed them fast. It’s crazy, every single thing he said I believe strongly too. Nothing can take you to that point of complete exhaustion as high intensity short intervals sprints! It clears my mind, burns my aggression and just strengthens me inside and out. It’s truly amazing! My goal is to sprint incline 15 speed 16. So far my best was 15incline 13speed and incline10 speed 15. You have to be consistent with increasing your speeds but take it slow. I do heavy weights in between my sprints.

Hit is no joke I’m 23 and my metabolism is on fire I eat regularly during the week, healthy breakfast and lunch regular dinner like spaghetti whole wheat. Even halo ice cream after dinner. On the weekend I’ve been eating crazy chili cheese fries had a donut pizza for dinner Sunday had pizza Girl Scout cookies Mexican food. And I lost 2 inches off my stomach. And still lost 4 pounds this week. Yes I’m significantly overweight 5’4 and 176 now 172. I was very out of shape so I’ve been breaking my heart rate up to 200 and then resting until it goes back down to 150 sometimes that’s more than 1 min. All I can say about hit is whatever it doing it making me lose inches and weight I know I would have better results with clean eating but I’m so happy with results now. Also I’m a beige eater and when I do binge eat I notice it’s a lot less food only a few hundred calpries opposed to thousands

Or is it as you showed here 1 set run on speed 12 then get off an rest for 60 secs? KMike68Camaro It's not because I'm nervous per se.. One could just say cardio just comes more naturally for me.. It's literally just endurance for me and will power to a certain degree.. A person could say the same about lifting weights but I just have to work my way into it.. I'm not rushing it.. I've lost 25 pounds so far in 3 months and I aim to lose 10 more by the end of April.. Brix made a video on how weigh training is better than cardio for weight loss ,I believe it, I've had many people around my gym tell me that already because you burn fat even while you're not even working out!.. But I guess you could say I want to shed this weight quick as possible cause I'm on a 50 pound weight clause for the Marines.. Gotta shed FIFTY by the end of June.. I will still be pudgy around 230 so I'll still revert back to lifting weights to mold and shape my body to a lean 200..
