Another thing about Balloons: They always come from the same direction in the morning and change it in the afternoon. To know from where they come you can look at the smoke coming from the houses. Basically from wich direction the wind is coming from.

Tips not mentioned: You can visit friends islands who's villagers are crafting and get those recipes from them. Acorns and pinecones fall more frequently during windy weather, and pumpkins grow up to 3 if you water them every day, and planting a specific color pumpkin will grow more of that color.

I really hate how rarely I actually get recipes from balloons. I sit around for an hour before I even get a recipe and it’s just some cardboard boxes. I think I’ll just get them from someone else who has more time lol

I’ve gotten recipes from almost every color besides yellow. During cherry blossom season, I found the most from red balloons. Just got a fall recipe from a green balloon yesterday. Maybe the color depends on the season? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thanks for the tip about the maple leaf shadow! Also, regarding animals crafting in my experience, one animal begins crafting when you first log in to the game for the day. Three hours later it switches and three hours after that it shifts once more giving a total of three possible DIY's from villagers. I mark down what time I log in and track it in my app.

Freaking clay balloons 😂 bane of my acnh existence. I saw a thread somewhere of people sharing their ac tattoos, and someone had this really, really atrocious balloon tattoo that looked like it was made with a steak knife and fingerpaints and I wanted so so so badly to say it looked like it had clay in it but I didn't want to hurt their feelings 😂

Other than spooky diys, you can only get seasonal diys from balloons. There is a trick to making balloons spawn in/float to the same spot every time - but it takes some work. Craft a bunch (and I mean a BUNCH) of Jail Bars, and line them all along one edge of your beach (also make sure there's no terraforming/cliffs near your beach edges or else this won't work). The jail bars are a "tall item" in the game, and the balloons are unable to float over them! So the balloons will float all the way down south to the edge of the beach until there's a little crevice for it to be able to sneak into and continue floating horizontally. I recommend doing this on the side of your island that the balloons come from during the time of day you play during most. For me that's nighttime (after 5/6pm?), so I lined my west end beach with the jail bars. Also convenient bc that half of my island is still completely flat 😅😂 Hope you and others find this helpful! This season is the worst tbh bc with the spooky diys being the main focus, northern hemi players haven't been able to get the fall recipes, and southern hemi players have had a rly hard time getting many cherry blossom diys 😫

For people struggling with getting mush receipts via balloon: Try using green items to increase your feng shui in the main room. I went balloon hunting for two days without any success until I found a feng shui guide and just placed green items everywhere in the main room front door area. Got three mush receipts right after this!

In terms of villager crafting, if you have all 10 villagers one of them will be crafting during three set time periods. 6am-12 pm 12pm- 6pm and 6pm- 12 am

1:12 also different personality type villagers give out different recipes! So for min/max players it’s a good idea to have one of each type of villager!

I've only been able to get the mushroom diys from balloons. And even then, I had a frustrating time getting bells, materials and bad items trying to get a mush lamp diy. I'm missing the mush wall but I don't care

re: balloons spawning every 5 mins - sometimes intervals are skipped. rarely it'll skip two intervals, but never more in my experience. i think i average maybe 7-8 balloons per hour?

I totally feel you with the acorn and pinecones! I've always wanted a controller that had an automatic turbo function and this gave me the push to buy it. I know it ruins the experience of shaking trees, but really though, shaking trees for a long time is not my cuppa! Thanks for the video! 😊

Balloons appear when the second digit in the minutes is either 5 or 9 (example: if it’s 4:25 or 7:39 or something like that a ballon will spawn )but it’s not just those 2 numbers

from personal balloon hunting ive found that yes they spawn at times ending in 4 and 9 and they start to come to the shore at times ending in 5 and 0 but they do not necessarily spawn every single five minutes. the best way to get balloons to spawn every five minutes is after you pop one go inside a building and walk back out and that will kind of reset the clock and a balloon will spawn at the next time and that way you will get the most balloons and to see which side your balloons will come from look at the smokestacks from houses and that is the direction the wind is blowing

Also, I've heard that botthes actually spawn every 12hrs, not just once a day and the clock resets when you pick one up

I got a tree's bounty lamp recipe from a DIY bottle earlier so it is possible to get them from those, but are significantly less reliable than balloons unless you're willing to island hop. I've heard balloons only have around a 15% chance to drop seasonal recipes but I cannot confirm this. Finally, I have literally never had my villagers craft a seasonal recipe except for the shell arch and dark bamboo rug, which I'm not even sure ARE seasonal ones (the shell & bamboo series are weird in that some of them are seasonal and require summer shells/young spring bamboo, while others are not and do not require those special materials). You're guaranteed 1 spooky recipe from your villagers per day, however, unlike other recipes, they will not give you duplicates if you know the one they're crafting - you'll either get some extra candy or pumpkins. Also, despite their names, you cannot get the Tree's Bounty arch/big tree recipes until maple leaf season, due to them requiring maple leaves to craft. Just thought I'd share these things since you didn't mention them :)

I love your videos so much! They’re super helpful, especially this one since I can’t time travel (parental controls) and so now I know to wait every 5 mins for balloons so I can get the recipes! For villagers crafting: it's on a three hour schedule. One will be crafting the first time you boot up the game after the start of a new day. It is random, so if you boot up the game before everyone is awake, crafting may be assigned to someone that isn't awake yet. For example, if I start the game before 9:30am, Fuchsia and Shari aren't awake yet, and if RNG assigned one of them to craft that day, I have to wait a few hours before someone starts crafting. Then, three hours on the dot, crafting will change to the next villager. After learning this, I haven't missed a crafting recipe. There are three villagers crafting per day. Another thing to note: villagers won't craft on "special" days, as in Bug Off or Fishing Tourney days. Hope this helps someone that may not have known this!

If you sit in a spot and wait, a balloon will eventually float by. It seems to travel (roughly) across whichever horizontal line your character is on the longest. Idk which period of time determines it, just that it seems to work lol. It’s a good way to snap up a couple balloons while doing other things, or if you’re working on one area of your island.

Its an annoyingly low chance to get a recipe in a balloon and not only are all the known upcoming seasonal recipes from balloons and Isabelle, there is also a chance you'll get a duplicate. For the maple leaf ones I recommend you find at least one new recipe a day so you don't die of boredom hunting balloons on the last day. I wish they'd update it so villagers would craft those as well. >_>

There's actually a whole thing about that: since if you have an open plot, you'll have a row of villagers for the plot, and then when you go to the nmt islands it randomizes the villagers that are not in your waiting list! Aaand if you visit someone that had a villager leaving, and the villager isn't yet going anywhere (so the void) that villager from your friends island will go into your waitinglist!

I never got an announcement in-game about the cherry blossom season only lasting 10 days, so I was pretty upset on the 11th when it ended and I had a single cherry-blossom floor recipe. I'm now time-travelling for the first time and waiting around all day for balloons (omg so much clay) to try and get the remainders as I am not waiting a whole year for the chance again! 😣

Balloons travel in a x pattern. Best way to catch them all is literally find that sweet spot on your island. Somewhere n the very middle . Just gotta watch 1 travel from the east then the West due to things like your buildings as the balloons will only go infront or behind those buildings not over the top. And they will not fly over the town square either

I’d love to be able to make giant leaf piles and then be able to jump in them with your friends... or be walking around and see villagers jumping into the piles purely for fun. As a Canadian, I’d like to be able to make maple syrup and be able use it in the same way as fruits. It gives you a boost of energy and gives you an opportunity to run around checking buckets that you’ve hung for syrup.

In Mayor Mori's video about how to get acorns & pinecones fast, his tip is to shake the trees 14 times. I've done it a few times and there were times I got nothing but tree branches and other times where I got 2-3 pinecones or acorns. So I thought it worked pretty well.

Problem with these seasonal diys are they aren’t like the bunny day ones, where you would usually get a new one each time, these ones are duplicate galore and you aren’t guaranteed to get them from the balloons either, but I’m still going to try to collect them all because I want to obtain as many of the diys as I can

So the dates for collecting the recipes for Cherry blossom/maple items, was misprinted in the official guide book. The actual dates occur at the same time that the cherry blossom/maple lead items spawn.

I heard you're only guaranteed two balloon spawns per hour, until going inside to a shop, the museum, or the ABD and talking/selecting something as if you're about to buy/sell something. Cancelling it and exiting the building resets the counter

You can get Two recipe bottles a day, if you check once in the morning and once in the afternoon or at night. You might not have a recipe bottle right when you get on the game, same thing with the second bottle. So you'll have to be patient. :) ❤
