Hi, I have Mitsubshi 2007 model car. I have also got a sagging problem. I think I can’t fix it myself. Or shall i try once with all the materials?? Or if i get it fixed with someone how much it cost any idea please?? Im in nsw 2170 Liverpool..

@@hariadhikari2062 most of these cars have a velour light grey headliner, so thats the material your after, sometimes customers choose to go for a dark grey charcoal velour to match the front darker trim. Glue for a one off job would be either 3m high tac 76, or Permatex headliner carpet glue. Mitsubishi 380 sedan without a sunroof would usually take approximately 2 hours to do. Most motor trimmers I'm estimating would be around $260 to 500 to repair these. If is has a sunroof, it would usually be the style we covered in this video below kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmKzg6dmfc92kNk

@ReecesAutoHeadliningRepairs quick question, have you ever done a 2000-2004 Toyota Avalon or similar LARGE sedan with a very boxy cabin? I'm wondering if you were still able to get the headliner out without removing the windshield. I have noticed when washing the car (the exterior I mean) that the roof is waaaay wider than say an accord (but of course the doors are near same size, so I'm wondering if that's a problem).

From Ohio USA, my 11 year old Honda Ridgeline needs this repair. I can now speak with some knowledge if hiring it out, or if I decide to tackle it myself, the correct adhesive and material to buy. Awesome video and description! Thanks!

Thank you so much for the wonderful content. I'm a car detailer and one of my customers is facing issue with headliner sagging down as someone unprofessional guys did cleaning by making headliner completely wet and now he is not able to find any one to fix it back. Hopefully, with all the valuable information I can try to fix it and even add this to service. Thank you so much! Will surely buy ebook which will enhance my skills more!

Thanks for your comment, glad this video was able to help you. Old headliner fabric (10-15years old) if cleaned and scrubbed usually will sag the next day, this is due to the foam being old and ready to let go. So just a small amount of touching the headliner fabric in that state will make it sag. We have done several jobs for caryards where the headliner sagged after getting the roof and interior detailed and cleaned.

Thanks for your comment, Holden Crewman would usually have either a Black charcoal (anthracite) flat knit fabric or light grey flat knit.

Omg thank you!!! My commodore VE sedan has just dropped the entire headlining and I had to drive home holding it up over my head, unable to see out the back windscreen at all!!! Bits of old orange rotted foam particles covering the entire surface of the car, in my eyes, breathing it in!!!! Thankfully I have a mask thanks to the current state of the world. I will be following your instructions to a T and attempting this entire process myself.

Your first video on this was short and sweet, yet still detailed enough. This one is (if its possible) - even better still. I appreciate the fact that you used a FPPOV while filming, I find it makes it easier to see what you're doing. Liked, and subscribed. Thanks for another fantastic video mate.

Thanks for your help i appreciate it ! what time of glue do you use in your air compressor ?

We are using Tensor Grip T65 or T51 via a 20lt canister. Initial setup is expensive, but very convenient

@@caiodallessandro SuperGrip 1000 is a glue that must be used via air compressor setup or brush it on. However with the canister tensor grip its more like a large aerosol spray can, and once empty the 20lt canister needs to be disposed of and re purchased. Its expensive, but very convenient.

Windshield would probably be more ideal if it's your first time and not confident in the process we usualy show which is flexing roof boards out the doors. We still remove those boards either from front passenger door or rear drivers side door. Slight flex, trying not to crease the board, so boards can withstand almost a 90° bend, but obviously not ideal and would usually opt for some board repairs afterwards to strengthen those areas for reinstall. We have never had to remove the windshield on any car, but it takes experience knowing the tolerance of boards and what will work. Some headliner fabrics like felts, I'd not recommend bending/creasing the board at all unless recovery with foam backed headliner fabrics, because the crease lines never go away.

Can't we put back the old one?
@ReecesAutoHeadliningRepairs3 жыл бұрын
I'd Highly suggest not too. We never reuse the old fabric/foam. Just full Replacement with new foam/fabric and new glue. If it was previously recovered in new material, then using the existing fabric can be accomplished. As it may just be a warranty or glue issue The reason I suggest not to reglue the old existing factory headliner fabric is because the Fabric may only be sagging in a few places & still neat, but if it previously hasn't been recovered, Adding glue to the existing factory material wont work, looks messy, it will leave a visable stain due to glue hitting raw fabric. Over time the foam backing on the fabric crumbles away making it un-stick & causing the fabric to fall down. To fix the sagging issue professionally, the Foam/Fabric needs to be replaced.
