We encountered an issue with MINI iDrive System in which the screen kept restarting due to faulty software. We go through the steps we took to fix this issue.

My minis head unit has lost the colour and is very dull

Check brightness settings in idrive and via the scroll wheel next to headlight controls. If they are both good you may need lcd replacement

What if after finish the programming the concern is existing what would i do?

Then programming would be incorrect. The issue in question is to do with faulty software. The right method of flashing the headunit will resolve this issue. If programming finishes and issue is present then it is done incorrectly.
