My teacher keeps telling me that it’s not about playing exactly the same thing as the original tune. This video helps me to see that - because you play the same song.. differently. I’ve hear there’s also a polemic among the jazz community that says improvised (vs composed) music is really the only true form of music. Any thoughts on that? Anyway.. I loved this video, also found out my drum level ranges between 20-30.. I’m making progress! Thanks.

Thanks Phellippe! I very much agree with your teacher. I also love improvised music, I think it's the best especially in live contexts because it makes them unique every time and it catches the energy of the situation. I wouldn't sacrifice composed music thou, it's great to have them both.
