Great Tool Thanks: I found for windy 10-15 mph days, I had to lengthen the rope considerably in order to time my kayak drift to capture of the float end. This presented a problem for me with excess rope dangling in the water from my kayak trolly system. I would like to elimite the excess rope while utilize the kayak trollly plus get within a foot of the bridge piling. I am considering adding a retractable cloths line spool that would attach to the trolly. I have seen online examples of this for kayak anchor systems.

I fish out of a 14 foot aluminum V-hull, but don't have a trolling motor. So, to tie up to a bridge I tie my bow line to a floating seat cushion and use it like you did. Just using what's handy!

Excellent way to stay at a spot with current rippin’. Where I fish over here in east central Florida. The current is crazy at times. And the current flows north of all things. Saint John’s River. But I was wantin’ to make somethin’ out of rope to tie to a piling. This should do it. Thanks for the tutorial info brother. When you caught that drum 🥁 I thought to myself “is there black drum 🥁 in the lake where he fishes at?” But it’s a fresh water drum 🥁.

I'm going to make this, except I am going to us a prussik loop on the carabiner that attaches to your anchor trolley so I can set a more exact distance from the object I am tied too.

Great video.... another good reason for a carabiner is they are quick release.... which is very critical in a kayak The bridge you were under ( pretty sure I know where) has lots of traffic and sometimes if in a kayak YOU DONT want to be hard to untie down. Once or twice I’ve been a bit concerned by wakes from thoughtless big boaters Instead of a carabiner at the float end My rig has a big squeeze clamp ( woodworking style) so if I just want to attach to a dock or structure I can avoid tying just squeeze and attach My anchor line has a float and carabiner at the boat end for quick release too... Quik detachment and the float let’s me go back and find then reattach .... Great video

We use a little boat bumper the same way. That with the noodle is a better idea for a kayak though 👍

Just a little something, for the “new to kayaking” crowd. Super common sense, but believe it or not some people don’t think about it.

I've been thinking of doing this exact thing after trying to toss my line over the beams under 35 bridge on Lewisville lake 🤣. Only I want to add some kind of bungie to absort the tension from boat traffic causing waves.

Love that Native Slayer. Is that the slayer max 12.5 ?
@BarFlyFishingTexas3 жыл бұрын
Had a 2020 Max, hated it! Sold it and bought back my 2011 Slayer Propel 13. They tried to make the Slayer into a mini Titan. It’s a tank, slow bulky, also takes on too much water! Foot well is below the water line most of the time.

great tip, id go with a slipknot on the kayak side instead of carabiner, in case i get in trouble , but i usually paddle in the salt and skinny water rivers.. good video man. subscribed

Another great video, thanks for the tip!!! So I made the hula hoop one that you showed how to make, do you think this would work just as good in a boat? Because sometimes it's hard to do the hula hoop by myself.
@BarFlyFishingTexas3 жыл бұрын
Yes it will. Some guys in boats use a dock bumper for a float.

Very cool rig. I bet I could use that on my tracker instead of the Hula Hoop. BTW your kayak looks like a mini man cave, Love it!!! Of course you have that crappie magnet gift and that's what I'm missing yet. LOL. Thanks for your videos Terry.
