When ya slide the soft bead over the peg bead ive learned it made a big enough hole to slide the bead down the hook after a few casts as if where ya leave the soft bead resting on top takes longer for it to slide over and down to ya hook. Might use a bobber stop on the other side so it wont slide up might be the best way. Or use soft beads only for float and get lured hybrid beads for drift 🤔

So just a tip when on the river and no sewing needle around Just use a single point hook, slip bead on shank then run line through eye and pull down bead like you would on sewing needle
