I just wrap forward, I can do pallets all day, I just bend at the knees, 3 times at the bottom and up every half a wrap. I don't spend much time low as I get around the pallet in just a couple of seconds anyway. Getting items to help me and using them just adds time and I am nearly 50.

we need these at the aldi's warehouse, working for capstone they expect us to handwrap full pallets top to bottom bending over and trying to fit through very tight spaces, we don't have open floor space to wrap or stage pallets for breakdowns/downstacking maybe at most a foot of space inbetween pallets if your lucky, just enough to fit through sideways if your a slim guy, we usually end up just half wrapping pallets (the top) because nobody wants to try to attempt what was stated above. definately wrapping more than 15 pallets a day aswell, on average we unload 16-30 pallets out of a truck (pinwheeled or double stacked) that usually end up getting downstacked built into new pallets which need wrapped on average building atleast 10 pallets per truck, solo person running atleast 5 trucks a night typically.

Was searching for something else, this video came up. Stayed to see if there's any tips or tricks I can take away from this, did learned how the machine wraps the pallets 🤷♂️ never took the time to realize that. Tips for others who're watching this and what I learned from my boss from what he was taught, use a broom 🧹, all warehouse should have a broom or 4 laying around. Drop roll of wrap through top to bottom, now wrap. Saves your back, you're wrapping, and now you're sweeping during that first bottom layer lol. Same idea as your tool here.

almost made a comment on 'why aren't you using a hand despencer?' got 1/4 way through and he brings ome out heh.
@HiBye-se3eeАй бұрын
That's why you're white collar, not blue collar buddy. Tie a foot of wrap to the pallet. Wrap 2/2 times around the bottom. Overlap half at most for better wrapping. If the product is heavy enough for the pallet not to turn while wrapping you, then wanna twist as you are going up. Wrap the top 3/4 times. Pull the wrap over the product from each corner ( you will learn your favorite way for this ). Wrap one additional time around the top to keep them corners down. Wrap, going back down and cutting the wrap around the halfway point. You now have a very safe pallet to move anywhere in the warehouse or in the world. I hand wrap pallets like this all day.

10 seconds and blood pressure in the head???? You got bigger problems. I got a stomach in my way and I'm 5'11" and I manage just fine buddy. Tip: when wrapping the actual pallet turn the roll sideways so it's more of a thick strand and it'll be thick with just one go around than continue with it straight up and get to the top and once again turn it sideways it'll get great tension and greater grip with less go around
@tartgreenapple2 жыл бұрын
The point being is there are better ways, more ergonomic and less painful on the back. Others suggested a broom can do the same thing.
@Erik-ui8tr2 жыл бұрын
@@tartgreenapple well sure I can't deny it's better on the back but what his issue was after 10 seconds wasn't his back it was blood pressure remember and yeah his technique is better on the back but while his attention is on the back he's failing to add any tension to that wrap job and most importantly where the pallet meets the product so sure you save yourself from bending all day but what young guy isn't capable of perform the task all day long this isnt a job where we would find this older man with back issues wrapping palets, let's just be honest we wouldnt find any man like him in that position either a man that age with those health issues would have figured his body out by than to move up the corporate ladder or the company would would have recognized his age after that many years with them and accommodated him or else he's a older man who hasn't figured his life and himself out to not be wrapping pallets at that age it's just not realistic but sure preserve the back while you sabotage the security and stability of your wrapping and lose your job
