Wow, there is little layering to the wrap job. The first pallet he didn't even wrap the top, I'm not sure how heavy this stuff is but I would probably try to rope it to make it tighter, it's what I do with the pallets I wrap anyways. With lighter stuff I don't rope I only wrap, but also, at least on heavier stuff, I like to create an X connecting each layer offering it more stability, and I make at least two layers of rope or wrap when I wrap any pallet, and I work pretty fast too, which is really helpful when it comes to getting the trucks out on time. Remember to stay hydrated people!

What does rope it mean
@swordfoxhq8038
@swordfoxhq8038 11 ай бұрын
@@jasonr2226 I did not see your reply I'm sorry, okay so to rope instead of wrap, so you know how you normally hold the wrap right? Ok now turn that sideways, now you can create a very thin and very tight layer of wrap keeping things together better. Let me give an example, I work in a car parts warehouse, I have many different pallets, for many different routes the truck has to take, we get a lot of orders on Weathertech mud flaps and other product from Weathertech, mud flaps are pretty light, so I only need to wrap those, I usually go around each layer 2 times to make sure it's nice and tight. I have other pallets for heavier stuff such as trailer hitches, truck bed tool boxes, etc. Those are a bit heavier, so I would tie my wrap down to the bottom of the pallet, and then proceed to make an X from the pallet to the product 2 times on each corner, then I would rope around the product 2 times and then proceed to the next layer and do the same, once all layers are roped, I proceed to wrap around each layer 2 times maybe even 3 if I feel it's necessary. Creating a thin tight layer of wrap, or a "rope" is essentially for keeping heavy pallets together I believe, we of course do not want to send out damaged product or want the product to be damaged on the way there. I still work in the same warehouse, have been for a year and a half. I hope my explanation offered some useful knowledge and hopefully maybe even help you out with wrapping pallets in the long run, it took me a long time to master wrapping pallets, you come up with different techniques and just keep on learning, and now, I am the best pallet wrapper in the warehouse, it's just something you keep building on!

You don’t walk into with the shrink wrap, but away so all sides are pulled into the centre! Backwards, not forwards!

No, wrap it tight, won’t break unless you have another pallet as a leveling surface

this is not a pro video, pros use hand dispenser' s and start at the bottom, when you start at the top the wrap is not water tigh, as its like putting the shingles on a roof backwords, any watter that hits that pallet will get channelled into the product.

@jonny_laguna yes, when you spend 5k + hours doing them you pretty much hit the expert level. we have noobs that suck at it and look a lot like this guy, don't make a lot of bonus when you can only do it at 30% the speed of an expert. there is even a technique to top cap a pallet and still have it water tight, but you have to start at the bottom. most places don't care about keeping it all water tight anymore, everything is indoors nowadays. you also burn your fingers if your going full speed with out a hand dispenser, even if your using gloves and the gloves will where out fast, and you still burn.

@@robgilmour3147 if you wrap pallets long enough you don't even need hand dispensers! I don't use them, never have in the year and a half I've wrapped, perhaps you can look at my comment and reply to another person and tell me what you think, I'd love to hear some feedback. I consider myself a pro (not trying to be cocky or anything, just saying with my experience that's just what I consider myself)

@@swordfoxhq8038 how do you stop your fingers from burning?, there are lots of guys i work with that dont use dispensers ether and they just can't go as fast, some of them even use gloves, and just burn holes in the fingers every few weeks, and they still can't go as fast. we are even timed for much of it, you are suppose to be able to pull out and rap 18 pallets an hour to make the grade (and keep your job), you dont need a dispenser to make those numbers, i do 28 pallets an hour with a dispenser with out even trying to go fast, if i try i can hit 35, could probably do more but they dont pay us extra to brake our selves. most new guys struggle to get 18 with out a dispenser. my employer has seen the light and gotten a bunch of them, they dont force anyone to use them but a lot of us do, it just makes the job easier.

@swordfoxhq8038 How do you wrap without hurting your back.My back only allows me to do 1 container per day before massive fatigue happens.
@swordfoxhq8038
@swordfoxhq8038 10 ай бұрын
@@chrisortiz432 1 container a day isn't very great.. I wrap at least 10 a day, but I could do way more than that if I had to, anyway you really just need to do it more often. I had fatigue and got light headed after doing just one stacked 4x4 pallet, but I started doing more and more, and my leg muscles got more built up over time doing it, and I got more stamina and could do more and for longer. It's not easy no, and it doesn't sound fun at all, but you just need to do it more often. As for the back issue, use your legs while wrapping for the most part, bend them more, not your back. As a tall person, that's pretty hard to do, but you're gonna have worse back problems to worry about if you keep bending like you do, I'm not saying to not bend your back at all, but bend your legs more... you'll gain more leg muscle that way and at some point your muscles on your legs will get so build up that you won't even feel it anymore. Your legs will adapt, you just need to give them the chance to. If you can, i suggest trying to wrap more things if you're able to and don't have TOO much of a work load yk? I want you to get better, but don't overwork yourself, it's not safe, it's common sense I know, but take it from someone who's OSHA certified, do not do it please LOL, can't get that workers comp if you could've avoided injuring yourself I think

Not sure exactly what you mean. But typically we take and edge and tuck it into the product or tie the end around one of the shells.

If I'm on a wooden pallet I (on a pole wrapper) pull a 1.5-2ft section of plastic off the roll and grip it to make a rope. Take the rope and loop it between the first and second slats, pull it under the first slat and out the front. Tie a knot to anchor the wrap to your pallet. I generally create more "rope" and pull it under the corners (between the vertical planks the end slats). I do go a little heavy on anchoring due to weight. My pallets are usually 1,000lbs+ and up to 6ft tall. A single knot on the corner and just wrapping onto the pallet will do fine for most lighter pallets.
