How can you two have so much chemistry just talking, I just enjoy so much how you finish each other sentences and small gestures
@allansevilla56404 ай бұрын
When I lived in Shinjuku I met a Japanese guy in 24. We had fun and afterwards he invited me to grab something to eat. Ended up going to a love hotel and had fun again. We exchanged contract details and he would often ask me if I'm free to go with him in 24. We would go around to check guys but would end up in each others arms. And this went on for quite a few times...... Until he told me if I wanted to go exclusive with him and then we stopped going to 24. I know a lot of people would disagree with me, but had that relationship for about five years. He wanted to move in together but unfortunately my work didn't permit that. But that was really the most memorable experience I had in 24.

I feel honored! I’m one of the earliest members of the badminton club that Andrew mentioned 😉 Now if I can give any dating advice, mine would be: the start can be anything (apps, bars, clubs, parties) the important thing is to find a common thing that you are both interested in and do it together so the relationship can grow into something ✌️

So it is really a gay badminton club? Because that is so interesting! We have plenty of gay sports clubs in Europe (even badminton), but never heard of them outside of Europe. We host lots of gay tournaments all over Europe as well, to get to know the 'international' crowd, even though it's mostly Europeans. Good to know if I visit Japan, I might be able to join the club and play there maybe during my stay and get in touch with fellow badminton players!

I'm black and considered conventionally attractive by most, and I still don't initiate due to fear of racial rejection. I'm wondering if that's what happens to Japanese people with foreigners. I was in Eagle Blue in May and one Japanese guy initiated convo with me, but after I told him my name he just walked away and passed me off to his female friend who then spoke to me about her best friend who lives in my country. It was odd lol
@trevorcolas4 ай бұрын
That's interesting. I have not visited Japan yet, but I hear about challenges for foreigners in general socializing in Japan. How is it for Black foreigners or residents in particular?
@gatinhopretolp4 ай бұрын
@@trevorcolas my experience is my own, but I found that in Nichome more women spoke to me than men. The men just look at me, never approach, except for that one guy mentioned. On the apps the only guys who spoke to me were older Japanese men or Asians from other countries, not Japan. I was very popular in the sauna, VERY popular, maybe because they didn't have to speak to me?
@James1701e4 ай бұрын
I'm reminded of an episode of HBO's Looking when Dom first meets Lynn (it's in a gay sauna/bathhouse) and being older gents Lynn comments how it's now frowned upon to casually chat whilst inside despite it being commonplace when he started going in his younger days. Whilst Japanese culture is unique in its approach to things, perhaps it should become more widely accepted for guys to have conversations. People have "f*ck buddies" and "friends with benefits" (for me there is a distinct difference) why is that any different to a guy striking up a conversation with another at a bathhouse regardless of whether they're going to have fun. Great vid guys.

I'll 100% side with Andrew on how always being the one initiating is exhausting. Guys have become lazy and make zero efforts. They don't show interest, don't keep the conversation going, never ask you out. And when you do, they're never available. The main reason is that they try to get attention from as many guys as possible and then pick the one who responded who they're the most interested in. That's why some guys keep messaging you after weeks. They forgot they did already or they're just trying again, and the whole thing goes nowhere again. I refuse to entertain this level of mediocrity.

I just moved to Tokyo after 7 years back in Denmark. I lived in kansai for a year, but I never really felt like I belonged in nichome. I think I'm too introverted to connect with people in these club environments. On the apps, I was kind of fetishisized as a ginger viking, but I got some lasting friendships out of it, I can use now that I'm back. Maybe I just need an E-friend who can help me get out there, but I get sort of anxious and insecure when I'm around so many people at the same time. Or maybe I'm just too picky. It's complicated 😅

I've seen on multiple videos that Japanese gay men shun men from other countries. As such I crossed Japan off my list of places to visit. I spent a month in Thailand and I saw that the men there are attracted to white Americans (yes I know about the sugar daddy searchers). When I complimented someone for being attractive, he giggles like a little girl. I came back to the US with 8 of them in my WhatsApp where we keep in contact We exchange pictures and stories. It honestly makes me want to go back. The people are incredibly friendly.

I've tried the whole go out to bars and places to meet other people thing but it doesn't really work anymore... There are not that many people going to bars nowadays, plus the ones that do are the lonely drunk type who sits at the bar feeling sorry for themselves or they are with friends so that makes it super hard to approach them. Another big thing for me is the lack of appropriate spaces to make this kind of connection. I'm genuinely happy for all my friends who met their significant other on the dancefloor but I need a quieter and more meaningful setting. Unfortunately, such settings usually harbor other dangers like homophobic comments from people etc. Dating apps are meat markets so no point in using those either. I'm really struggling if I'm being honest.

As a long time viewer, can I please request that you stop using AI generated images in your videos? Not only are they jarring, destructive to the environment, stolen from assets of actual artists, but you guys are just better than that. Please consider stopping, it doesn't add anything to your videos, you're fine without them!!
@jrobi5013 ай бұрын
That’s your personal opinion which is valid however this is a very casual channel leave them be. It does add to there videos at least for me! You want change then go after the corps not small KZbinrs
@davidnguyen3483 ай бұрын
@@jrobi501 Disagree completely, nobody should be normalizing the use of it because no matter how big or small, every time it's used and generates images for you it causes environmental impact and perpetuates the theft of artists. If anything, small youtubers should absolutely stand with smaller artists and creators and refuse the use of AI generated content because we expect corporations to try to exploit us, but not each other. A "small youtuber" shouldn't be ok exploiting "small artists" by using gen AI art.

Watching a new epiaode and not a 3 year old one hahaha Well for me apps like grindr is where I have met the most interesting peolle so far. Yes, most of them started with sex but then there was conversation and some became friends and others even bf. About being not direct with conversation... Pff i don't know, i am so sick of endless chatting that goes nowhere. Or endless chatting to then meet in person and not click... I usually push to meet relatively faster for a simple plan, a coffee or a walk. What do you think as a topic? How often you found yourself finding s big gap between the online persona and the person in real life? And yes, sometimes is about looks, or how big is the gap between the picture and the real person. In my limited time in Japan i found out that pics were sort of fake, quite a big gap! And for me is more about the gap rather than the looks itself. If a guy looks like a 10 and then is 6 might give me worse impression than a guy who looks like a 6 or 7 in pictures and then is a 5. Maybe this is on me for seeing a very hot guy who wants to chat with me snd see the Aliexpress versión in person. What do you think?

3:26, maybe try thinking of it from the perspective of someone viewing you as a person emulating a "Cain" culture but you do not know your are doing it. Cain from the Bible. Think of how his descendants from him might act. I say emulate because, my theory is Cain had blue eyes but yours are brown.

Also, being close to 60, it’s just not my thing anymore but, I wouldn’t judge negatively people who like going there, if it’s not their only goal in life! I have met guys who had nothing else to talk about… the whole conversation was about their weekend plans in nichome. There must be more to being gay than just going out to find the next fu..k
@JaimeVega4 ай бұрын
I guess big difference is with people who go to Nichome or people who ONLY go to Nichome and do nothing else. It is the latter group you should definitely run unless that's your whole personality. I guess Nichome or any gay bar really should be a way to connect with people or to go out every now and then for a drink if that's your thing. I don't know, I personally need someone that can carry a conversation and it is not only about gay bars and parties ...
@Frenchmisto4 ай бұрын
@@JaimeVega I see your point but I have experienced it regularly for a few years and there is nothing left out of it. Not even one person keeping in touch. IMHO a large percentage of Gay Men (cis-gendered males mainly) tend to be the most judgmental in the larger LGBQTIA+ community. Gender fluid, Non-Binary, Trans folks, in my personal experience, tend to be more inclusive. As someone who would probably be considered in the 'Siver-Daddy-Art-Bear' category, I've had the joy (and discomfort) of aging in our colorful community. I am curious if there is a sub-culture in Japan of aged (Silver) gay men? I know your content is normally centered around those who are 'in your wheelhouse' of age/type. But I have wondered about it viewing your work. Cheers Guys. You made it through PRIDE month, now, it's time to make it through PRIDE year.
