As a frequent mac user, I can safely say down smash edgeguards amazingly. I don't know how effective it is on Luma, but I would imagine its a good choice.

ya, it's crazy how there's videos on how to handle top tiers. it's almost like their hard to fight or something. almost as if other lower tiers need buffs. basically if your character doesn't have a video (from any patch) explaining how to deal with them then you need buffs to your arsenal.

For Pac-Man, if you bait Rosa to block an orange or key...that's also quite effective. Something you forgot to note--edgeguard with Down-B, Back-air, or booby-trap the ledge with a floating melon. Ton of options to work with. Also, another note in this matchup: Rosa and the radioactive body pillow are easily separated if she blocks a hydrant coming down. The hydrant ALSO blocks Luma from passing through it, meaning Pac-Man can even single out whichever he wants to target if he conditions properly.

@FallingStarDX True, it sucks. Like, extremely unfun. But Pac-Man doesn't give her a victory for free. He can bait down-B if she uses it at the wrong time, and scare her into making the wrong move. Among other things, of course. He can cover himself very well, even against her. Pac vs. Rosa is not NEARLY as one-sided or bad as people think.

If you're willing to take the risk, F-Smash is decent tool. While slow, it's powerful, disjointed and has a good amount of range. Though you have to take a good amount of hits to get rid of Luma, Rosalina can't hit as hard with out it. So use everything trap &/or set up you got when it's gone.

My personal favorite way of getting rid of Luma is quitting the game. This is because it is fast and is very reliable. A good combo is punch Rosaluma player into unplugging TV.

thank you for making such a thorough and comprehensive video on dealing with luma! one thing I've found that I think is worth mentioning is if you grab rosalina and do not throw her immediately, luma will move behind her. I wait and back throw (as yoshi/ g&w) because it makes the most distance between them and then forward smash luma off the stage.

if you play Rosalina and want to protect your Luma from these moves, try turning around. you may feel vulnerable at first, but your back air is safer than you think and you can always turn around easily. it's also a great tactic to avoid getting surprised with rolls.

It's important to note that with more rage, more moves open up to knock away Luma at full health. For example, Yoshi can knock a full-health Luma away with an Egg Throw when he has enough rage. I think his n-air and b-air can as well.

Just a thing to note with Shulk. Buster Monado Art makes Luma more resilient to getting knocked back due to Buster's lower knockback. Likewise, Smash Monado Art makes Luma more vulnerable to getting knocked back. F-Tilt works at full HP with Smash Art.

You missed one, Ness' recovery on Rosa will sometime go through shield and hit Luma super far. What's special about Ness's recover on Rosa's shield is if the player is not paying attention they will drop their shield because the hit stun on Luma will make the hit box much longer than normal.

An interesting property Roy has vs. Luma is that he can repeatedly jab the Luma, making them unable to move or act. Rosalina has to commit to an action to save the Luma, which Roy can punish.

Well you didn't even mention Pikachu's two best methods to combo Luma to death: up tilt (which puts Luma in tumble at 3%) and up air (which puts Luma in tumble at 0%), and seeing that the moves have little end lag and combo into one another, I'd say it's the most efficient way to kill Luma.

If you grab Rosalina with Fox and use forward throw, Luma will sometimes also be hit by the move which will send Luma flying nearly half a stage length even at full HP.

For Samus, you forgot about dash attack into nair. One or two nairs will take care of luma super quick.

For Toon Link, I like grounded Up-B. If you get Rosalina too, you can launch both of them away, and usually in opposite directions, so you can focus on Luma. Thought obviously it's a laggy move so it's a risk, but pretty rewarding.

MSC, you completely neglected mention that Yoshi's uptilt and the last hit of his bair can launch luma into tumble at 0. And luma floats in the air just high enough to get hit by yoshi's uptilt even when he's behind yoshi.

Note on lucas: I find he side B to be most effective, since its a multi-hitbox and overall the safest, especially when wavebounced.

For ryu you can do DD1 onto luma which is safe, if luma's health is low or if rosa is faraway you can follow-up with either a forward air or dash attack respectively

You forgot to mention that Fox's close to being fully charge forward smash also works. Forward air also works if luma is in the air that is. Fox's forward smash has to be I think half or close charged in order for it to work. I checked and it worked.

When fighting Rosalina you can also do a down throw to f-tilt if luma is not directly under you you can kill luma that way, for Meta Knight.

dash attack and downtilt for villager also puts luma into knockback at 50 hp, it's good for when rosa & luma are standing at the ledge or getting back up from ledge

For any ROB mains out there, know that nair is very good at getting Luma away, it doesn't do a ton of knockback but it takes Luma out of the fight for a bit and if Rosalina is away, you can chain nairs to get her offstage. On another note, DO NOT use fair on Luma as ROB, it will do no knockback and will not send Luma into tumble.

You missed one for kirby, if he inhales rosa and spits her out Luma gets launched really far, it's situational, but if the oppurtunity arises that's definitely the best one to do for kirby if the dash attack/jab won't quite knock luma off

For edgeguarding with Mac, I'd recommend to just go off stage and then use Side B to get back to the stage.
