I really appreciate how you went into detail on which is best for specific needs. Most people would just say, "the best one depends on your specific situation" and then just leave it at that. You actually elaborated with helpful information pertaining to "under these conditions, this is best. Under these conditions, however, I'd recommend this one instead." Very helpful, and it also increases your trustworthiness since you are not fully biased to any of them. As someone who is looking to use my wheel for ATS/ETS2 exclusively, and who does not care about manual shifting, your conditional recommendations indicated that the G920 is the best for me. At the age of 73, muscle memory is a challange to change. Took me some 200 hour's to figure out the game's config's and how to utilize a controller while waiting for my G920 to arrive from where ever to my home in Mexico. It arrived yesterday, and I was excited, until I got it installed on my desk, and truned it on. Being only a truck driving player, and not a racer, I've come to depend on looking in my review mirror's. Racing doesn't require ever haveing to look backwards nor to the side, they only go forward as fast as possible. Trucks have to turn 90 degree's at corner's, and switching lanes with out looking, cause's accident's. Though it took a couple of hundred hour's of learning. I've enjoyed the hell out of the following 60, I've been able to play. But, now that my wheel as arrived, I reckon it's gonna take another couple of hundred to adapt to the fact that because a wheel doesn't have a right stick, which is the one controller's generally utilize to look, up, down, left and right. How am I gonna turn corner's and make sure my trailer isn't running over stuff or switch lanes without causing accident's. Then there's the issue of having to back up in various area's to dock the truck. It's said that an old dog can't learn new tricks, but God as given me a great deal of OCD. And I'll eventually work it out. Hoping to find a video to assit. Great job at narrating the various wheel's. Keep up the great job your doing.

I still have my G27 from 2014 and I'm trying to live with it for as long as possible. I've had a couple of compatibility issues, which I would expect nowadays, but it still works fine for me and I wouldn't be without my mappable buttons behind my shifter which I use on OMSI 2, Bus Simulator, ETS, ATS and Fernbus. I mostly use them for the door controls and handbrake as they feel like a natural position for them, as I normally would reach left/right for those controls when I drive my car or a bus. Great review that you've done here, but all I felt by the end was the relief that I'd bought my G27 just in time, one year before it was discontinued.

I bought a Thrustmaster T150 a couple of years ago, and I'm pleased AF with it. I've upgraded the pedals to T3PA pedals and got a TH8A shifter, and it's great for trucking sims. Buying the wheel and pedals on sale and a used shifter, I got a good setup for a low price. Having 9 buttons and a d-pad on the wheel + a couple on the base, it covers a lot of the need for sim gaming buttons. That turning button on the G29 is very desireable though, I assume it would be great for zoom in/out or adjusting cruise control... I'm making an Arduino button board to mount on my wheel base to increase the immersion, but I wouldn't dare fiddle with things like that on a pricey wheel. Should be a lot of fun making it.

Sorry, but the G27 is still the best wheel for trucking. I bought mine in 2008 for Omsi (bus simulator) and not long later the TrackIR 5. Both were way more expensive than I normally paid for a wheel. Previous wheels were usually around 100 euro. The G27 had during a sale a price tag of 249 euros. After more than 10 it is still going strong. The only thing that kept breaking on me were the plastic G-clamps. So I bought myself some 25mm thick wooden board. Drilled two (recessed) holes for the bolts that secure the wheel. I also have the SKRS shifter but with plain black top (although I do regret buying the easyjack addon). Next I also the the Thrustmaster Worthhog (I use the pinky level for the handbreak, and the push button near it for the trailer hook), Trustmaster MFD (2nd one I removed) and the CH Products Throttle quadrant. That quadrant has 6 up/down switches which are great for trucking or farming. Still have not setup FS19.. (for some reason it did enable the playstation mode for my PC)..

I have used the G27 for quite a few years now and would not trade it in on the inferior wheels (due to non-included shifter, and higher price) shown in this video. I have used both the newer Logitech wheels shown here and there is little to no operating quality or difference to the G27. They are simply a new skin and button re-arrangement/reduction on the newer versions. Oh, and they shafted G27 owners with the driver software. They could have released new drivers for the G27 but then no one would buy a new wheel would they? Typical of Logitech.

Good informative video. In the context of this, which is trucking, I would recommend the G29 over the G920. It has more buttons. The + and - rocker is great for stuff like light control, or automatic gear suggestion, and the red dial with the enter button in the middle is fantastic to set as your cruise control. the dial to control speed and the enter button to enable and disable it. There times i practically drive the truck with that thing xD since buying my G29 a few years back, I found it a massive upgrade over my DFGT, it may not be the best wheel on the market, but I think for an over all package if you get the the shifter as well it still offers the best value, and everything you need to get the best out of the game. The shifter may not be super high quality but it does the job well enough. But I would still definitely go for one of the TM wheels with the shifter if I had the money.

Nice video :-) , I have the TMX (not the pro version) and am quite happy with it, however what I miss in all the wheels is a handle for indicators so it's (like in a real car) always in the same place and I can use the flappy pedals for shifting.

I would buy a g27 instead of g29 because 1. Its cheaper 2. It has a shifter already put in original pack 3. It works actually the same like g29 only the design is other and it has a bit more buttons. Also, i'm saying it to pc players cuz obviously you cant use g27 on ps4.

Bought a complete good condition G27 set for €50 which the seller claimed to have calibration issues. It indeed did not calibrate so i took it apart and found out the small plastic disc of the digital encoder has cracked. Apparently this seems to be a common problem and can be fixed with a 10 cent washer. Gonna fix it up tomorrow and see how it performs :)

I know this video is old but you were still wrong regarding the shifters not working with any other wheel, there are USB adapters that you can connect the Logitech shifters into a pc and be able to map them without any issues.

what pisses me off about the logitech wheels is how the shifter got worse over the years the g25 shifter was just like the g27 shifter but also had a sequential and h-pattern mode! then the g27 removed that and now the G920/G29 shifter is just a shifter no extra buttons!

Search google for Leo Bodnar adapter. £20 for use with G25, 27, 29 or 920. I use to use one of them for my old G25 shifter so I could use my G27 for left hand drive and G25 for right hand drive (and the G25 one has a sequential option too)

A superbly comprehensive review video, sir! Thanks. My PC setup (small desk, layout in the room and chair) wouldn't really support a full on manual shift setup for ETS2 and ATS, nor would my current budget. However, I make do with my ancient MS Sidewinder Force feedback wheel. IT WORKS!! In Win 7 64 bit Ultimate.. Yes,the wheel's about 16-17 years old and I have lost the power supply (no ff), but the wheel and pedals calibrate perfectly. Talk about reduce, re-use, recycle!! :D The wheel has small paddles on it so I can run sequential gearchange. I have also secured an old XBOX 360 controller on the top of the wheel housing which gives me most of the auxiliary trucking controls hehe. Happy trucking!

I've owned the TH8A for a couple years and I've had an overall good experience with it. The only issue I've had with it was it stopped being detected by my PC when I plugged it in. Luckily it was still under warranty at the time so Thrustmaster offered to replace it completely (I would have to send the defective one back first) or they would send me a replacement board that I could swap myself. I elected for the second option and it has been working flawlessly ever since.
