Just fyi -Milwaukee’s battery and power source works in Dewalt’s jacket - dewalts battery and power source works in Milwaukee’s - you do NOT need to stay in your battery platform. They use the same plugs, they use the same polarity, and they are both 12v/18v jackets.. That said - i have no idea how anybody walks around, and works with the 18v batteries in the jackets.. its like walking around with a 2 pound weight pulling on you all day.. ive tried it, i hated it, stay with the 12v batteries. Dewalts power source fits both their 12v and 20v battery packs. Their power source is actually way bigger than it needs to be for the 12v battery.. best combo - Milwaukee power source, 2 or 3 amp hour batteries - and just take spares.. Milwaukee ALSO - has a 12v cigarette lighter adapter, so if youre in a machine with a 12v plug, you dont even need a battery.. the genuine Milwaukee 12v adapter cord, is a convertible cord.. its 2 pieces, you you can separate the 12v cigarette lighter plug from it - and it will become just and extension cord - meaning you can plug in say the m18 power adapter - with a huge m18 battery - and sit the battery down near you if you are in a machine and you dont need to keep it in the coat. I have everything i just mentioned..

I worked outside year round for many years, Milwaukee heated gear was a life saver. -40° working in a lumber yard all day, I wore the heated hoodie and heated jacket over my coverall pants, and it kept me very warm but not sweating.

I love my Milwaukee Toughshell jacket. I bought it 2 years ago and it still works great after running it through the wash bi weekly. I usually let it hang dry. Its a warm jacket even without the heating element on. Water and wind resistant. I just bought the new hybrid lightweight Axis Milwaukee jacket for less cooler temps.

I use my heated hoodie when I'm just getting in the car in the morning before the seat heaters warm up, and when I'm walking to the building. I'm a college student so sometimes you gotta part in the back of the lot and walk a hell of a distance to the building. The heated hoodie along with my MEC jacket make it super hot, water, and wind resistant.

I can say the firehose flexfit work pants are great. They are warm, rugged, yet easy to work in. I work on a dairy farm. So I'm outside almost all day. And I agree it is like wearing a pair of pajama pants. I have 3 pairs of the fleece lined. I am going to try a pair. Of the non insulated ones this summer.

After seeing this video, I actually have 2 questions. 1. How does Milwaukee's M18 5 amp hour battery last a hour longer than Dewalt's 20 volt 5 amp hour battery? And 2. How long did the M18 9 amp hour battery last before going dead?

Hey, Just wanted to let you know I bought a heated Milwaukee jacket last year due to your feedback on them. This year I went all out, got the bibs, heated gloves, balaclava, the all weather hoodie, toque and new Axis Gridiron layered jacket kit. So I spent about $1500 because of you and I wouldn’t have otherwise. In Canada Marks doesn’t carry that brand and Home Depot is the main place that does but they stock almost zero products in store so I ordered online. I wouldn’t have known it exists if not for you channel. So use this message to get the new jacket and gloves from them to review 😉

Also I found my milwaukee hoodie has two pockets inside the battery holder. 1 for the m12 and the m18. So big or small it will take it and hold on pretty good. I complained that the m12 kept moving until I found out the small pocket for it. Now it says in place and I have issues with its placement in 2 of my cars that have aggressive side boulders since there sports cars. If your in a truck or a seat that's has a relatively flat seat you will be fine. If your driving a BMW with sport seats it will be annoying.

got this jacket this christmas break and got the Milwaukee. the battery placement is perfect never realise its there until break time where were in the work truck and thats when i feel it. i have he sweater with the heavy jacket not the light jacket. i must say today was -16 but feeling like -22 with windchill and i wore a skii mask and i barely felt any cold really i was pretty warm. The heated element of the sweater i dont feel much hounestly when im working but when i wore it at home i could feel it. Once major problem is wearing a hardhat with the hoodie. The hoodie is so insulated that when you put the hardhat ontop of the hoodie it doesnt stay. was walking the joists bent down to nail it into the rim boards and many times the hard hat fell. And just walking too. It doesnt properly fit with the sweater. but all round its a great jacket without the heating element too.

My preferred outdoor work where is the north face thermal ball jacket. If you wear this thing you won't need a heated coat because it keeps you warm enough and it's insulated all the way through. Also the material is very light weight so you don't have to worry about it getting in the way if you're operating any equipment. Also the hood is insulated enough to where it fits right under your hardhat and when you wear your hardhat over top of it it looks like you were just wearing your hardhat. Also it's about $200 less and you don't need to worry about buying all the separate stuff for batteries and heating. So I think it's a little overkill if you go with the heated coat because their jackets that are warm enough out there that can compete with those that are $200 cheaper.

I chose Milwaukee a few years ago for work simply because they were the only ones at the time that were machine washable. The dewalt and Bosch at the time were hand wash only so the fact I could get a better wash at the end of the week with the rest of my clothes was a selling feature. They may have upgraded and all machine washable now but not sure.

Good review man. I have the Milwaukee myself and I especially love the heated pockets myself. The 9.0 battery does last a long time , but the size and weight is too ridiculous for pocket carry. I like to use the 3.0 12v myself , when you have at least 2 batteries, it doesn't really matter because you will have one charged and ready at all times on site. Also the wire will come out of that backside pocket and is long enough to route to the side pocket when driving. Also since I'm an unabashed team red fanboy, another nice feature is that the battery pack will charge a phone or any usb device in your pocket as well.

I know this video is a few years old but i just found it. Like watching your videos, very informative. I own and operate a tree service business in Northern WI. Been doing this for 40 plus years. I was looking for a new pair of winter pants because my current ones are getting pretty thread bare. I have always wore Timber Savage winter pants. They were the best ever but they quit making them. After hours of digging on Google i found a company named Snicker's. This company makes work ware, in Thier line up of winter pants, i found these (Snickers 37.5) winter pants. They are very similar to my timber savage pants with the high back. You should look them up i know you will like them. Keep giving us good content, God Bless!

best bibs on the market by far IMO are Polar King by Key or any type of Key brand bibs. the fit a far superior to carhartt and offer short and Tall sizing along with the regular S, M, L, XL. So no matter if you are short and stalky with small legs or tall and lanky with long legs they have sizes that fit anyone. they do run a tad small/tight though which can be nice.

The dewalt adapter always seems to get dislodged from the battery, replacement or resetting is near impossible with the jacket on at least for me. I have to remove the jacket, I wish it were more secure, I’ve just gotten the Milwaukee and noticed the dewalt adapter works with it as well. Maybe running my Milwaukee with my dewalt batteries will yield more run time and with the battery pocket a little easier to access the dislodging problem will stop.

ANYTHING you buy from carhartt - jackets or bibs - ABSOLUTELY needs to the sandstone material. The difference is night and day in terms of how soft and flexible is it compared to the originals.. ive had/had every milwaukee jacket you do, (the older softshells are much warmer, flexible, more comfortable - but not a durable) and the absolute most comfortable free flowing warm jacket you can get is the Carhartt SANDSTONE, Sherpa lined Sierra jacket. (The one with the zippers, not the similar one with the buttons). It has armpit big armpit gussets that let you raise your arms and the rest of the jacket barley moves. I cant get past the non heated Milwaukee 3in1 (same exact jacket as the new nonheated models BTW) ripstop being so stiff and loud when it moves. It sounds like youre walking around in a garbage bag, and the entire jacket moves around when you move your arms. In cold winter weather ( i work outside as a lineman for a utility company in NJ ) - its TANK TOP, long sleeve shirt, and the older heated Milwaukee jacket on high with a carhartt hat.. and ONLY THAT , thats good down to flirting around 10 degrees or lower. (Must have extra batteries. I take 3 in total. Thats the only bad part. You have to prepare, and have a charger somewhere JUST IN CASE you work late. ). the whole point of heated gear is so you DONT need to layer. To get the benefit of the heat, you NEED to wear less clothes, otherwise you wont even know the heat is on. Tried the m18 battery packs. Too big, too heavy, too uncomfortable with that weight hanging in a pocket all day. Must go m12, 2.0 batteries at least - 3.0’s now if you wanna spend the money - but you can just save $ and carry another 2.0.. its almost better cause having 3 batteries over 2 - cause it cover you just in case you cant get the spare on the charger right away.. In extreme cold, sub zero wind chill, - throw the Carhartt sandstone jacket over the heated soft shell milwaukee, with the heat on. Carhartt must be a bigger size. The Carhartt breaks the wind, and keeps the heat INSIDE. The heated MILWAUKEE, has to be close enough to you WITHOUT THICK LAYERS under it... ive NEVER NEVER NEVER had to go more than that.. EVER. And the carhartt jacket on the outside is on rare occasions. For pants - it’s Carhartt insulated jeans, NO long underwear, (unless its well below zero and wind, then something VERY thin) and Carhartt SANSTONE Bibs over them when its really cold. The pants and the jackets need to be separate. You cant wear a ZIP up one piece suit and expect to move around , bend over, raise your arms.. its just not gonna happen. Youll be miserable with the things pulling at every part of your body. I have heavy insulted Leather, waterproof Carolina boots for extreme weather and snow. Gloves is anyone’s guess.. so far best ive found is the leather insulated Carhartts, with bee’s wax applied to waterproof them.. those cheap (in the package, open and shake) hand warmers go a long way... There’s no way i could wear all those layers like you do.. (your area may demand it, but you should utilize the heat and you can drop 2 layers off that set up) I absolutely refuse to shell out the money on the heated Milwaukee gloves for one simple reason - one rip - and you wasted all that money The biggest downside of these heated jackets is where the batteries are. Its a pain to change them out - and i find myself taking the jacket off to do it.. they should make one of the chest pockets available, or one of the head pockets as an alternate battery placement option.. the (old?) dewalt heated hoodie (much thicker and more insulted than milwaukee’s) has/had that option.. the dewalt is almost an exact clone of the Carhartt’s - which has basically been “industry standard” for decades - just with heat.. I’m telling ya - just try it.. tank top, long sleeve shirt, soft shell heated jacket on high, (its a lighter, warmer, more flexible, more comfortable jacket) and Carhartt SANDSTONE Sherpa lined Sierra jacket.. throw in your favorite warm hat..
