Does the line have to be de-energised before hooking up the transmitter? I'm looking for a way to locate an energized 3 phase 480 buried line in pvc conduit encapsulated in concrete shield trench.

Hey man, we're having this exact problem where our power wire underground is broken somewhere running from our shop to the well pump about 300 ft away I've been calling around and I've been suggested to get a navitrack to find the break but now I'm seeing it's for snaking a sonde through underground pipes. I don't know if you've had any experience with those and if it will work without a sonde.

Do you know if this unit has ever been used to locate a break in an underground dog fence? Also how does the feature work that displays How Deep The Wire is in the ground?

I dont know but I'm sure it could. It's the same concept so there shouldn't be any issues. As for determining the wire depth, it works but takes some getting used to. We don't use this feature much but it does work.

It’s $650. You can run 40 miles of new dog fence wire for that. Hahaha

yea we have had it pick up wires 3 feet deep, we haven't had any instances with wires deeper than that. it picked them up at 3 feet no problem

never tried on low voltage wires but i would assume it would work the same way
