Jeff, We completely agree that Marvin is the top-of-the-line when it comes to wood-clad. We have occasionally used Pella & Andersen but have a preference for Marvin because of better quality control ,design and service in our opinion. Andersen service hasn't been the greatest, even as a dealer ; Pella has good service but small quality control issues frequently (excess glazing sealant, etc).

Here in fire-prone California, i was told that I'm not allowed to use all wood windows unless I'm in a historic home so we're looking at Marvin for the aluminum exterior and wood interior.

Could you do a video about things to consider when replacing windows on different home materials? (i.e. brick, stucco, etc.) Thank you

What’s your thoughts on a Anderson 400 series wood window vs a lifestyle series from Pella?
@HoustonWindowExperts11 сағат бұрын
I believe the Andersen is a nicer unit.

Jeff, great information and your 5 mistakes people make when buying window video is outstanding. QUESTION: where would you rank sierra pacific of the makers you carry Anderson/Pella /marvin and have you ever heard of Quaker? Any thoughts/comments would be appreciated

I used to sell quaker. They went way downhill during COVID. I'd avoid it if I were you. Sierra Pacific and Marvin are the best.

What's your view on Marvin Elevate (Ultrex wood Clad) and Andersen A series (fibrex wood clad)? Especially for colder climates in the northeast.

Sierra Pacific Windows is an excellent window and they offer great service!

What's your thoughts on Alside Mezzo windows. Do you have a review for it yet. I'm thinking of switching to them from the MI Window brand.
@HoustonWindowExperts4 ай бұрын
MI is not my favorite!! I used to sell them and dropped it pretty quick. The Alside products are entry level. I'd keep looking around.

Just courses you mentioned to one of my message that weather-shield was a good window you did not mention that window in this video should I still pursue it ? Thanks
@HoustonWindowExperts8 ай бұрын
Yes, you should pursue it. There's no way for the sake of time that I could discuss every high quality window on the market.

Marvin is the best window on the market

Marvin definitely has a great performing window, however I think Pella has the best design aspects visually on their premium windows. definitely the best looking hardware.

In my opinion Loewen is the best Aluminum Clad window on the market. (I sold Marvin for many years, as well as Andersen, Jeld-Wen, Kolbe, Weathershield etc). Marvin is excellent as well though.

Agree with you that Marvin makes great product though I think its a bit of a stretch to say they are far and above everyone else. The Pella Reserve line is very comparable to Marvins Ultimate. Pella does not offer Architect series anymore and anyone buying from a local branch can use Reserve. The roll form is used to hit different customers budgets and is only used on Lifestyle Series, Pella also are the only ones offering Lifetime coverage on the wood and glass for their wood lines.

Thank you for sharing your opinion. I have Pella windows in my home. I did not put them there, they were there when I moved in. Since they were built prior to the extended warranty that exists today, I did not have the same luxury that current homeowners would. I've had to replace 17 windows in the past 5 years due to seal failure.
@adrianhernandez39235 ай бұрын
Pella No Longer Sells the Architect Series. At least not at their local branches. The only rollform aluminum clad window they sell now is the Lifestyle series, which is an extremely great value for what your getting, comparable in price to some vinyl windows.

Why is it that double glaze versus triple glaze are more modest of an upgrade up north but exorbitantly prohibitive (rather than competitive) Here in the south?. It’s almost like they don’t want people to buy triple glaze so they price it like insanely high, astronomically high, buffoonishly high, Like get lost and don’t even think about it Price high.
@HoustonWindowExperts8 ай бұрын
I don't know what they charge up north, but in the heat, double pane is better.

Clad windows are nothing but trouble. I’d think twice before buying clad windows.
