Leafs TOP priority: Free up cap space. The Leafs have only 2 first and 1 third rounders in the first 3 rounds in the next 3 drafts, which means trading assets for help are out of question. That leaves the Leafs with one option: Use the cap room to acquire the necessary enforcements. The Leafs have only $18.5M in cap room next season and need the following: #1 goalie, 2 top RD, and 3 forwards to round up their top 9. Without freeing up the salary of Marner or Tavares, there is not much Treliving can do to obtain the players the team needs.

Isnt jakob chychrun wanting to be traded out of ottawa ?? Id move on from brodie, get that cap space of 5mill and get chychrun instead. Than offload marner, domi and bert cause theyre too expensive And go for a top D #1 right hander.
