I quite liked the gothic take on Alice in Wonderland. I generally don't like the idea of the live- action remakes, though I haven't really disliked those I watched except for the Lion King. I think the live- action department should do more of the smaller stories like Saving Mr. Banks in 2013.

In Kevin Smith's run on Green Arrow, Green Arrow went down on two separate female characters (one being Black Canary), that c was not a restricted ages series either. He even made a social media post about it after this information came out about the scene in the more Adult Harley Quinn.

BotW is so damn good I got my Switch like a month ago and I already have over 50 hours in. I also just got Smash Bros. which is amazing, DragonBall Xenoverse 2 which is a very solid DBZ game, and This War of Mine which despite being insanely depressing and challenging at times is also very good.

I think Pete’s Dragon is the best and Beauty and the Beast is the worst. I don’t really see the point in any of these remakes so I guess “””essential””” is a fake term with Disney movies but Pete’s Dragon is significantly better than the original and of all these I would say most justified its existence. Beauty and the Beast, beyond the bad singing, really irks me cause the whole movie feels like it was made with the express purpose of rewriting all of the plot holes to overtake the original. It just really bothered me that the movie spent more time fixing fake issues with the original that no one actually cares about and it felt so egregiously studio in scope

I notice in just about every podcast, James at eventually will acknowledge something for the sake of it, or correct a minor mistake one of them has made, and follow it immediately with "we'll get letters/emails." What's up with that? Are the emails/letters extremely voluminous and/or distracting? Maybe there's too much over the top vitriol? Or is the line merely tongue-in-cheek and I'm just bad at detecting insincerity? Makes me feel like the audience is abusive or harasses them. Is this YT comment an email/letter of that same kind? Some of the remakes are outright bad and the ones that aren't are simply not as good as the cartoons. No clue why people are still going to see them. And who in the absolute &*!@# wants to go see a Cruella origin story? Do not understand that one at all. The only thing Malificent and Cruella does is to tell kids you can justify anything as long as you rewrite the stories. Not all movies need to do the cowardly "both sides" argument. The Disney Jungle Book remake handled the grey areas better, IMHO.

At the very least Cruella sorta felt like Craig Gillespie was kinda mocking the concept of a Joker movie for Disney villains. Like I’m not naive, it’s obviously still an egregiously unnecessary Disney studio mandated thing, but considering how far Disney let him stretch it at least is a little fun if you watch it with the lens that it knows a Cruella movie is a stupid idea
