Vidal sassoon - more ashy in person, faded quick 5. Loreal feria - pretty good except rebel chic 6. Da vinci hair colors - came out patchy, hard to remove, didn't fade nicely (don't buy!) 7. Lime Crime - (semi) pretty good, doesn't last super long 8. Schwarzkopf - (permanent) pretty good, slightly ashy, last long, easy to remove

I personally like dyes fading out fast so I can change it to another color quickly without bleaching it. Since I don't bleach my own hair and it's expensive to get done. But ik most people aren't like that.

@@squishasmr I like Lunar Tides, they fade gracefully and don't last a super long time as long as you don't go with one that has any kind of green in it other than super light greens.

I am a licensed cosmetologist, and I actually agree with the vast majority of this (of course, however, I wouldn't recommend most box colors.) But I am honestly relieved that someone hates Ion Color Brilliance as much as I do. 😅 You should definitely try out the brand "N Rage." It has been one of my favorites ever. Their teal is o n p o i n t. Love your videos, baby doll. Keep doing your thing. Can't wait to see the results for the giveaway. 💘

I would suggest splat the next time you want to go blue. The Blue Envy (I think is the name) starts off really dark, unless diluted, but it fades through shades of purples and blues. Even when it’s just a wisp of color in my hair, it’s a light denim or lavender. But... it’s a bitch to get out... so changing shades might be hard. Also, for the first few washes afterwards, you might drip blue water... to be fair. I only do blue and I can typically go a few months between dyes because of the splat.

Okay, so I dyed my hair for the first time about a month ago. I bleached it before doing it and I decided to dye it using Arctic Fox Purple Rain. Beautiful going on, but it washed out so fast. Two washes in cold water and my hair went from a beautiful bright purple, to a washed out pink-purple mess. After that, I decided to re-bleach and go with the Ion Color Brilliance Aqua (Semi) and it's stunning. After bleaching, my hair was a bright yellow greenish color, put the Aqua over it, and it turned out stunning. It's a beautiful blue green and it looks amazing. The coverage was even and after two washes, it doesn't even look like it's fading at all. I'm so in love and I would definitely recommend Ion Color Brilliance 💙

I love ION from Sally’s. I use the Radiant Orchid and haven’t had any issues. I did try Arctic Fox but I’m pretty sure it was the Girls Night that you talked about, I wasn’t thrilled with the color payoff.

Vidal sassoon is AMAZING for unbleached hair!! I used the red over my brown hair and it lasted a loonng time and faded beautifully! My mom's used a bunch of different colors from them and has always had a great experience with it

I LOVE arctic fox hair dyes I used the reds and oranges and they worked perfect however, I used girls night and it was patchy I always thought maybe somehow I did something wrong lol. Glad to know I wasn’t the only one who had a patchy experience with only girls night.

Always great to get the new video notification. I feel you on not going to the salon. I have hair that's to the top of my thighs and they felt like charging a few hundred dollars for a trim and to put ONE color.. and until recently, it was constantly a mix of Arctic Fox's Sterling and Periwinkle with some diluter to fade it out more and it always lasted 3-4 weeks if I kept my hair in a cool rinse. Now that my job has changed the policies, I mix one and a half bottles of Transylvania with half a bottle of Posiedon. Lime Crime fades on my hair so badly.. it was a good amount for the price.. but when you're having to touch it up every other week.. it's not worth it to me.

I've personally had great experiences with Manic Panic. I used Voodoo Blue and it stayed bright for a good month before fading to a really nice green for a solid 4-5 months until I used another color. I also really like their blue bleach.

I loved the ion color brilliance when i dyed my hair red. It lasted amazingly and didnt damage the hair and came out great when i wanted it to. BUT when i dyed it blue/aqua it was awful trying to get it out. It took like two years to get all the hints of blue out of my hair lol. I didnt realize that i couldnt use the color straight from the tube when dying it blue and once i picked up the red i used it with developers and had a completely different result lol. GOES TO SHOW READ THE BOX BEFORE USING OOPS LOL.

Arctic Fox is by far my favorite. I only have to redo it when I touch up my roots. In between, I use 'n rage 3 in 1 color depositing shampoo/conditioner and it keeps my pink super vibrant. Sometimes I'll put my color into a deep conditioner (I use silk elements renourish with jojoba oil) and leave it in for a few hours.

For me personally, Manic Panic is great. I’ve used Vampire Red & Enchanted Forest on my naturally dark blonde/light brown hair and it actually showed surprisingly well. HOWEVER, I do feel you should leave Manic Panic for longer than suggested if you want it to last. Also the Enchanted Forest faded kinda patchy on my hair but that also had to with application technique, I think.

Definitely recommend Lunar Tides or Lime Crime unicorn hair for semi permanent. I've tried quite a few semi-permanent and those are the ones I've liked best. Keracolor also has great color depositing conditioner to help maintain color.

You should try Jerome Russel Punky Colour, I've had great results. They're sold on ulta, just beware of the turquoise, it can be annoying to get out, but I've always had issues getting reds and turquoise out of my hair.

I find the black shade from them stains and bleeds like hell, midnight blue used to stain very little but whenever I buy a jar with a black lid (new packaging) as opposed to a grey one (old packaging) it bleeds and stains just as bad as the black shade, so they might have changed the formula? What I can recommend is the violet shade. It always lasts long and stains, bleeds very minimally. Not sure about the other shades though

Great video. Do you have another one on regular colors across the brands or just this one on fantasy type tones? If not, I hope you’ll do a part 2. You are right on those Ion ones being the devil. I used the Demi Ion in 6R left on 20 min and it was horribly too dark, some sort of weird purple red, and would not get out of my hair for a year. It smelled wonderful and had no irritation at all but the color was not worth it for me so I am wondering about good Demi’s although there isn’t many. I would consider a permanent if the colors were accurate, even, & cons/shiny afterward. Any suggestions? Thank youuuu!❤️⭐️

Good information....i am not one to dye my own hair like I might have two times ever. Im 46 and I actually bought punky colour recently and will be trying that. I'm surprised that wasn't on the list. Agreed! Between my hair and my sis's I've tried everything you have plus Clairol Glintz (yup I'm old) Wella, Splat, Kool-Aid, and Garnier. You were right tho, demi-permanent is a thing (no ammonia, mixed with with low developer, lasts around 24 shampoos). I used the Ion Brights line that was CF and the box says it's semi-permanent but on some people may be permanent. I probably could've removed it all with 2 weeks of bleach washes and resting/masks, but who wants to do that? Lol. I gave it 1 week then dyed over it. But, I only change my color at a minimum annually which can also make it harder to remove, and my hair being curly makes it naturally dry and porous). My favorite atm is Guy Tang's Super Power Direct Dyes (advert says lasts approx 52 washes). I maintain a blue-purple-plum color blend with Overtone and I'm on month 3 now and I still get stopped for compliments whenever I go out, despite my new growth. I like it because it applies very easily (creamy consistency not as stiff as Ion), comes in a generously sized tube, leeches very little. The Ion and Manic Panic were the worst for coloring my ears, collars, pillowcases etc.

Recently used splat purple over my husbands bleached hair and it didn’t take, some parts are light purple, bleach color and darker and the ends (darker than the bleached hair) I followed it exactly how it said to. I LOVE Revlon Nutri color creme (I hope they're also called that way in the states). I've tried the red one, the purple, the orange, the copper and now I'm using a mix between the pink, the lavender and the white. I've also tried manic panic and crazy colors, but I always come back to these. They leave your hair incredibly soft, and the pigmentation is great. The biggest downside is that it's not cruelty-free.

I used Manic Panic Midnight Blue (or smtn similar) without bleaching my hair. I'm a dirty blonde or even a light brunette. The dye stuck super well to my hair but looked kinda green which I didn't mind cuz I expected it. The problem was when I wanted to get it out but washing 6 times didn't do much. I ended up having washed out green hair for a year! And it's supposed to last 2 weeks!! So I don't know if this is a good or a bad thing, I just wanted to switch it up for a SHORT while, yet got a green mess :/

Has anyone tried red manic panic dye on super bleached white blonde hair?? (mine is like platinum blonde and I’ve been wanting to do a deep red color for a while but I’m wondering if it will fade or not cause I don’t want to permanently stain my hair)

Last 3 times I tried artic fox black transylvania dye, it is just emerald green. I had a almost white base do to a split dye but never got a true black with it.

Okay question... I’m a medium to light blonde and I wanna dye my hair a light pink/peachy color. Does anyone know if I should or shouldn’t bleach or use devoloper before I dye? I’m thinking about using an arctic fox dye.

If you would like a soft pink/peachy color, I suggest bleaching it as light as it could go.

I believe that Ion is a mixed reaction. I used their purple demi-permanent color and I fell in love with it, but i recently used their flamingo semi-permanent and it sucked completely. It didn’t stick to my hair at all and it didn’t dye it at all.

The last time I used the Ion demis, I chose the pink and used it on my bleached level 9-10 hair. Let me tell you, my hair absorbed that pink and refused to let it go. I felt your words, I was taken back to the struggle of trying to wait for the fade before I ended up eventually bleaching it out. I learned not to make that mistake again.

Hi! This is the first time I’ll be dyeing my hair in a pink color, I have medium beige blonde, but I want to try pink just for a little time, and I’m between manic panic or Arctic fox. Does any of those stains blonde hair? I don’t want pink tones to remain in my beige hair lol

Manic panic comes out very fast so if you want to dye your hair for a few days it will work well then come right out and I have not tried artic fox so I don't know on it :/ hope I could help

I usually use the Ion brillance line. I do agree that the color sticks around a long time. I don't dye that often so I'm usually ok with it. I think they fade pretty nice. I've had some brands that fade and just look like crap.

Manic panic always fades fast for me, and if you have lighter hair then darker colours will stick fine. Pastel (or hair dye with conditioner) wont even go on your hair. I would stay away from the blues/greens because they tend to stain my hair kind of green. I had hot passion fade on my almost white hair in like 3 washes. You could always use something like hair chalk that washes out right after you put it in.
