Since my original Best & Worst of ColourPop Palettes video, I had TONS of requests to do an updated version... You've finally convinced me to start the process of ranking my ColourPop palettes. I too am so over the pressed glitters in palettes. I think they should stick to those as singles or do all glitter palettes for the die-hard glitter fans, but in regular eyeshadow palettes they're a waste of space for most of us that aren't willing to risk our eye safety and/or don't wanna use glitters for eco-conscious reasons. EDIT: heck yeah I wanna see an Amanda 9 pan palette, oh my gosh!! 😃

@@divyaatri8651 Almost all glitter is made from plastic, that plastic can get into your eye and cause some damage if it cuts your cornea. Hope that helps

Don't know if any of you could help me, she talked about the pressed glitters and all and I completely understand But then she did talked about that shade from the oh lala palette, tickled I think, saying it was very pretty, that shade is a mettalic, of course it's not classified as pressed glitter but it has micro glitter in it So I'm confused, shouldn't this one be not safe too? I have that exact palette and would like to know

The shimmer particles in a regular metallic shade are not nearly large enough to scratch + damage your cornea so they are safe! Obviously you don't want any foreign substance in the eye but plain old shimmers are not going to hurt you like a pressed glitter particle would.

I can’t thank you enough for how vocal you are about not only disliking the pressed glitters on eyeshadow palettes, but also about how dangerous they are. I don’t know if it is because they don’t see it as often as you or me, or because they haven’t had to stare at high-res pictures of damaged eyeballs for hours but I find it baffling that people are not more freaked out about something that can potentially damage your eyesight for life being sold with eye makeup. I’ve been eyeing Brown Sugar for years it feels like, maybe one day when I’m feeling bold enough to risk getting slammed with customs I’ll order it. I also love the idea of Baby Got Peach, but I’m not going to risk a corneal ulcer.

I hear you! I feel obligated to keep talking about it. I was an ophthalmic tech in a cornea clinic for many years and these glitters give me flashbacks to those days... once you’ve seen a rejected corneal transplant, glitter doesn’t seem quite so pretty anymore 😅

True, ppl can ignore pressed glitters but if they are in a palette, there is always a risk of glitters getting into other shadows😔 Its one thing to put pressed pigments but pressed glitters are pretty hazardous 😔

The new Smoke Show palette is pretty cool toned. Beauty Bakerie's Breakfast in Bed palette fits what you discribed perfectly too - all grayish-purples

They're releasing new ones this Friday, in Frozen 2 themes. Maybe you're not a fan of Disney, but if you like cool tones, maybe the Elsa one is cool? It has a lot of blue and silver and a few red tones in there but overall it looks gorgeous! It still has pressed glitter (if you don't like that, I think there's only one in there), but look it up, there are some leaked photo's!

I'd buy your 9 pan palette regardless of color. What colors would you add? They've made my favorite colors to wear already. It's hard to say what's missing. But, if it were my choice, I would go for something with dark blues & purples. Or, maybe, an all shimmer rainbow palette. I don't have the Sol & Mar palettes. I really want the Shayla collab Under Construction. I gave Brown Sugar to my friend. She loves it, too.

This was so much fun, and a great idea to film the process of you deciding on your order. My ideal 9 pan palette would be a jewel-toned one. I'm thinking of a navy blue matte for something different, and maybe a safer mid-toned crease shade, and then gorgeous rich shimmers like copper, deep emerald, ruby red, purple, etc... Maybe I need to bite the bullet with the So Jaded palette. I'm with you on the pressed glitters though, I think it's bordering on irresponsible to put them in an eyeshadow palette if they're not eye-safe. To each their own, but they're not for me.

Hi Amanda!I feel the same way about the press glitters. You can put it on your nails! I just put on a clear base and when it is VERY tacky I put on the glitter, I pack it on and ley dry, then I put on a hard, glossy top coat over it, you can also seal it with a UV light for gel polish and voila! I almost finish mine and I use the empty spots on the pallets to create eye liners with my Inglot 😌👌🏼

I use the glitters on my cheeks, body, or in my hair. They're still useful even if you're not putting them on your eyes :)

That’s true- if body/hair glitter fits your style then that’s a great way to use them. My problem is that putting them in an *eyeshadow palette* is really dangerous because that is marketing them as and EYE product.

Love my colourpop 9 pans!!! Of the ones I have my ranking would be 1. Strawberry shake 2. Brown Sugar 3. Ooh la la 4. Orange you glad 5. Uh huh honey I’m not the biggest fan of the pressed glitters either, I’ve tried to wear them and I just get anxiety LOL. I love to wear bright pinks and neutrals, those are my usual go-to tones

YES!!! A 9 pan palette with a grungy rainbow vibe like your previous video would be awesome 💗 Iteresting. Other than the pressed glitters being in the bottom I was pretty surprised by some of these. Since I'm not big on their 9 pans, I'd love to see your rankings on the other palettes. Last year was my first year of finally buying colourpop 😁 during Black Friday sales it was 25% off but if memory serves me right, during Xmas they had different sales everyday. So think lipsticks were 20%, then palettes a % off. Brown sugar is my top favourite. I use it with the Dream st. palette everyday. I love the blue moon very much though. Please do a grungy 9-pan palette if you get a collab (and I think you should!) with colourpop 💙

Love the work though process style. Do a day time palette with neutral tone neutral palette, (or cool tone, a mini fame palette). Pair it with a night time palette with fun shades, with duo-chromes, super shock, foil metallics and no pressed glitter! Or do an all duo-chrome palette lol, because I don't think Colourpop will do one themselves.

I’m with you on hating the glitters... In addition to not being eye safe, I’m a working adult, there are few to zero occasions where glitter is appropriate. Make a glitter palette and leave them out of the actual eyeshadow palettes... The pigment thing doesn’t bother me - It is only an issue in the USA (I’m in Canada). The USA bans many innocuous things that are widely enjoyed without issue in other countries.

Baby got peach is my absolute favorite despite the glitter; I have had 4 surgeries on my eyes due to a condition I was born with, the last one I was awake for, so I won’t use the glitter on my eyes, BUT, when I’m feeling a little extra, I’ll dab a tiny bit on my cheeks as a highlighter

I have blue moon and uh-huh honey because I don't have that much blue and yellow shadow in my collection. Now that I watched this, I don't think I have much purple in my collection too 😂 Ps: I agree with the pressed glitters. I tried it with the yellow palette and immediately wiped them off. Yikes...not very day to day look

I wish baby got peach would come back in stock so I can buy a backup. I love it. I dont use the glitter either but I love the tones their my fav! It does tick me off they dont stop putting the glitter in them I know people complain about it I hate the glitters it ruined sweet talk for me I never use it theres only 2 shimmers which to me isnt enough.

If you got to do a 9 pan palette with Colourpop, I think you should pick your 9 favourite shades from your top 9 palettes. The palette might visually look a mess, but I bet it would be a good one.

I know this is a colourpop video, but my favorite 9 pan palette color wise is my suva beauty saffron palette which I bought in my never ending hunt for the perfect red shadow. It didn't have the perfect red shadow, but I use shadows from that palette all the time.

Good thing is the colors in Mar can be used all year round. Beautiful neutrals with the teal, greenish blue colors.

I am so glad that the first and only 9 palette from colorpop I got is “It is my pleasure”. I was so hesitant if I get a colorpop eyeshadow palette, because first in Lebanon we don’t have the brand so I can’t physically see the palettes and swatch them, even when I travel to Europe I don’t see Colorpop products. On top of that I am not a drugstore makeup person, especially when it comes to eye products. But since Wearing purples is out of my comfort zone I said why not, let’s get this palette I found it on Instagram page and it retails for almost 20$ so it is cheap. But I was surprised with the quality and the payoff. And I got another 4 palettes and I am waiting for my Go Coconut to get shipped.

I have to say it’s my pleasure is my favorite also because my eyes have a green undertone and I love purple. One difference in opinion that I have is that I also really love baby got peach. I just don’t use the glitter. But the peach is so pretty with my complexion that I really love it.
