Honestly I didn't enjoy it verry much,it is good,indeed,but it's definetly not as perfect as people make it sound,there are a lot of incosistencies in the power system,it also takes things a bit to slowly for my taste(and I did read slow novels before,like lord of the rings,but I think they did a better job at slow action) and people are all like:It has the best writting ever* but you guys haven't really read many novels did you?I'm pretty sure,most novels in the 19s-20s are written with a similar or above amount of description and it's not this that makes a writing good,but the way it conveys the message and I think it's pretty average at that,you have enough information to make out what happens,but it does not convey emotions themselves,that is what a next level writing can do,you can feel the emotions the author tries to rely to you. Don't get me wrong,I am not saying it's a bad novel,it is a genuinely good one,but it's not as good as the hype make it seem and if you read more novels and not just light/web novels you would have more things to compare it to and it's simply not my match,I don't really enjoy the characters and the plot as much as you do,I find them pretty bland and not a gripping story that I want to read more of at all,oh and btw world building is not as perfect as you guys think,If you read Lord of the rings,that is the best world building that a novel can get and Lotm does not come even close,Lord of the rings has a world building so great that you literally have entire languages for characters of different region and they are fully working languages,one could literally learn them and use them

And Lotr does have better world building than Lotm,it's not just the language that matters,it's the history of the regions,the culture,the amount of effort put into the detailing of each and every region of the series,everything has it's own logic and it's verry grounded to the laws of the universe of that series and also no I did not read it because of the hype and to criticize it,I read it because I genuinely thought it would be perhaps the next great book that I would read,but it left me pretty dissapointed at that and there are web novels that do some things better than Lotm,for example I keep hearing that lotm has the best writing of all novels,but that is verry arguable,like how do you even define ,,great writing",just using a lush of words to make longer descriptions,no,I think the best writing is the one that can relay to you the story in a way that you can imagine in your head each and every single detail that the author conveys as well as emotions,yes a good writing can convey emotions,you can feel what the author intended you to feel and for that I think a web novel like Shadow Slave did a better job at this than lotm,you can imagine everything a lot more vividly in that series than you can in Lotm,despite having less words to make it look ,,well written",also Shadow Slave has a much more unique world setting than Lotm,there's an entire planet with hundreds of species of creatures,alien geography and natural phenomena and at the same time that world has better Cosmic horror portrayal,because as you may know,Lotm is a lovecraftian story at it's base,which means a story that portrays all types of horrors at a mind bending level that you can barely wrap your head around and at that Shadow Slave clearly destroys Lotm,the amount of cosmic horror so well crafted in that series is really terrifying,it really gives you that feeling that humans are indeed just some ants compared to the more powerful creatures. Another thing that Shadow Slave did better than Lotm is philosophy,so far I haven't stopped once to take a screenshot of a quote from lotm,because there wasn't that many memorable quotes that were worth noting,shadow slave has a ton of philosophy in it and thought provocking quotes,I could easily see references of Stoicism,Friedrich Nietsche and even chinese Taoism/Daoism philosophy. In terms of characters it's arguable,because I often see people say Shadow Slave has too little and bad villains like Mordret,but honestly I believe that Mordret is not even a villainer in this series,he's more like a character that's between ally and enemy,the real villains in this series in my opinion are actually nightmare creatures and the gods themselves,Take Weaver for example,he basically created everything that will ever exist with the scope of achieving something,he controls fate,which is literally the future,or there is Shadow,the god of death,that is,as his name says Death,everything that ever died will come to his realm and everything that ever gets rebirth,will be born from his realm,or there is thieving bird,another exceptional monster like villainer,I believe these villains that are not even human with intentions so alien are a lot more horrifying than any human like villainer could ever be,after all what humans fear the most is the unknown and that is how these villains are made in shadow slave,they are unknown,strange and alien creatures,who's motives you can barely comprehend,this is what I think it makes it have better villains that Lotm. Either way, these are just to name a few of the things that Shadow Slave does better than Lotm,I don't think Lotm is the ,,absolute best" web novel out there and definetly not the best novel ever made,but it does have some merits and it is definetly a solid read for most people,there simply isn't such thing as a perfect novel,if you want me I can go and tell you all that I think is wrong with Shadow Slave and Lord of the rings as well,they are not perfect either,it all comes down to tastes in the end and what you actually look for in a novel and keep in mind that any novel might have it's strengths and weaknesses

The Manhua is not official, it's fanmade and it isn't good. It's a novel. However, there is an donghua (Chinese anime) coming out this summer and the production quality looks immaculate. An official Manhua is also coming, and I'm assuming the quality of that is going to be very good as well. LOTM is like One Piece in Japan, or the Simpsons in 90s America, it's huge, they won't spare any expense for either adaptation I suspect.
