As a life long rider at age 58 i have owned every brand and Yamahas have always been excellent bikes.

They've always been good to me, no matter what model or type of bike I've had.

I have the klx 230 nd a WR 250F 2023 2 different kind of bike both EFI 6 gears but the WR is really more cross country oriented then the the klx or ttr . Trail bike are fun if you have friend with quad since you are gonna be able to follow them without trouble . WR are for those that ride a little bit more agressive nd maybe a little bit of MX track / single track

I have been riding motorcycles for decades and just recently bought a new 2024 Yamaha WR450F for trail riding and am very disappointed in the bike the suspension is so stiff and harsh it is almost unrideable I am 175 to 180 pounds ready to ride so this bike should be ideal for my weight. Looking at some spring calculators they show the stock WR 450 spring rate is for a 230 to 250 pound rider that's just BS.

Sorry to hear that, Bill. From what I've seen over the past 10-15 years, the manufacturers keep going stiffer and stiffer with their suspension and chassis, which can work well on race bikes, but the WR450F is supposed to be a versatile trail bike that can comfortably handle low and high speed. I think a 2004 vs 2024 comparison would show you how far they've gone, and for the average guy, it's often too stiff. It's too close to the 450FX setup from what I've seen and heard, unfortunately. Thanks for sharing, and I hope you can get it dialed with some lighter springs and clicker adjustments.

2022 Wr250f owner. My son’s bike. It’s Yamahas half assed attempt at an xc bike. It’s not designed from the ground up (like KTM). It’s just parts and pieces shoddily grafted to a yzf. The suspension is RIDICULOUSLY stiff and will need to be revalved. Something breaks nearly every time it’s dropped. It needs the (expensive) tuner and undergo “uncorking” to have any chance to make the power delivery as linear as possible (it still sucks compared to a REAL woods bike). And guess what, by the time you do all these mods you could’ve just bought a KTM. So in conclusion….just buy the KTM.

I've been hearing that more and more about the WR bikes, which is dumb and very unfortunate. They already have the FX, which is supposed to be what you're describing. It's not a race bike - I think they need to go back to their pre-EFI chassis setup so that it's plush and more comfortable for low-speed and technical trails, as you say. Thanks for watching and sharing.

The first ride they are stiff but you have to ride this kind of bike a little bit agressif
