Excuse me, but if guards themselves are so inconsistent in telling people to move away, how can we expect tourists to understand the protocol? The guard himself said nothing. And at the end of the video, there were about six Chinese tourists who crossed over the white line before a policeman came over.

@@GLAlex9470 I cannot understand why they won't protect the horse at all some of the troopers in the Life Guards and Blues and Royals are stepping up to the plate. Apparently it is up to the guards whether they stand up for the horses or not, I find this strange for military establishment! I would recommend you write to HCAV, if enough people write we may overturn the stupid request from the previous government and not rescinded by this government not to shout and upset the tourists because it might ruin the tourist industry, but is Ok to allow the tourists to abuse the poor horses. I am actually working with others to find a way to get this stupid situation sorted out. The guards in my opinion should treat the horses who also hold the rank of trooper like their human counterparts and get on and have each others backs in times of strife.

They're getting paid to sit on their duffs and do nothing to protect the horse! But they love horses?! I've lost so much respect for these so-called "guards"! For months, people have been getting upset at these rude. Tourists who continuously jump the lines and crowd the horse and they're still doing it. They know exactly what they're doing. So why are the guards not being told to stop this? They actually have police there to stop it. @@rm663-z1e I agree. I guess it's just hard to wrap my head around the fact that these are soldiers, and as such they're allowed to do whatever works for them individually. I can't imagine if they ever had to put their skills to work as a group, when they aren't even sort of on the same page with something as simple as telling people to stay out of a box, and leave the horse alone. It also means that the higher ups aren't on the same page either. It's kinda crazy. And scary.

I've even seen a couple of times when the guard yells at the tourists because they touched him while they're close enough to the horse, if they'r had done his job, they wouldn't to been able to touch him wmy goodness, why does the garden not protect his horse?

It is the job of the Westminster police to patrol the outside of horse guards not the MOD police they protect the public inside horse guards. It was nice to see one of these policemen actually clearing these people out of the box. This isn't really their job it is the guards job to protect their horses from animal abuse. I just wish they were around when it gets too crowded around the bollards, it is ridiculous the amount of people that are allowed to gather there. I would have thought it is quite a dangerous situation for the guards and horses as they are an easy target for a terrorist attack, crowds this size are great camouflage for such things. I think numbers should be regulated and only small groups allowed at all times. This could be done with small tour groups they would be charged to see the museum and a quick look round inside the yard but not near the horses at all, anyone breaking that rule should be fined on the spot, in fact this should happen now for anyone not listening to the guards (those who can be bothered to look after their horse that is) and not moving out of the box should also be give a spot fine. The money could go to horse guards and perhaps put towards a system where they can be given headsets in different languages, like they use in some of the museums in London and a narrative over speakers telling visitors that this is a working barracks and to respect that and the guards and horses and that it isn't an amusement park or petting zoo. Something has to be sorted out, or I think the whole place should be closed to the public. It is no good putting the signs and box in place and then not enforcing the rules they put them there for!
